Not to be forgetting that HRC supported his candidacy, as part of her sure-fire plan to be the "first" female POTUS.

Yes, that’s a crucial fact in our never ending story.
Thanks, Hillary!

Predicted winner of this week's No ****, Sherlock! award
Quote:
...those who constantly feel the need to move the goalposts are nearly always the folks losing an argument. The original line from Trump World and its allies was that Russia didn’t attack our elections. The evolution soon followed: OK, maybe Russia did attack, but the Trump campaign wasn’t in communication with our adversaries during their attack. OK, maybe they were in communication, but their talks had nothing to do with the campaign. OK, maybe Team Trump did talk to our adversaries about the campaign during their attack, but is that really so bad?

Please.

As for the comparison between the Steele dossier and the Russian attack, this is so embarrassingly weak, I’m a little surprised the right would take the line seriously. There’s a qualitative difference between a research firm relying on sources to put together an oppo report and a foreign government using military intelligence officers to illegally steal materials and weaponize them in the hopes of putting an ally in power.

Those who see these two activities as identical simply are either deeply confused or they aren’t arguing in good faith.

You might not want to pretend that you think what this Benen character thinks. He is having difficulties with facts and logic.

First, making multiple arguments in defense of a point is not in any way moving goalposts. People can point out that there is no evidence that something happened AND point out that it would not have been illegal even if it did happen.

Second, these points were made in unison from the start. There has been no evolution in any arguments here.

Bernie Sanders' 'Medicare for all' bill estimated to cost $32.6T, new study says

Sanders’ plan builds on Medicare, the insurance program for seniors. The proposal would require all U.S. residents be covered with no copays and deductibles for medical services. Also called "single-payer" over the years, "Medicare for all" reflects a long-time wish among liberals for a government-run system that covers all Americans. The idea won broad rank-and-file support after Sanders ran on it in the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries. Looking ahead to the 2020 election, Democrats are debating whether single-payer should be a "litmus test" for national candidates.

2020 hopefuls like Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., endorsed a “Medicare for all” program last year. Political newcomer Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who beat House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., in a recent upset primary and instantly became a prominent face of the democratic socialist movement, also is promoting a "Medicare for all" platform

The Vermont senator has avoided conducting his own cost analysis, and those supporting the plan have at times struggled to explain how they could pay for it.

The study, released Monday by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, showed the plan would require historic tax increases.

The study estimated that doubling all federal individual and corporate income taxes would not fully cover the additional costs. But the study, conducted by senior research strategist Charles Blahous, said that those estimates were on the “conservative” side.

The study found that the plan would reap substantial savings from lower prescription costs -- $846 billion over 10 years...But other provisions of the plan are also expected to drive up spending, with coverage for nearly 30 million uninsured Americans...

But it's free ****, I tellzya!

Giuliani says he's not sure collusion is a crime

CNN

Quote:
At a CNN town hall in April, former FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump fired, said collusion "is not actually a thing that exists under the federal laws of the United States."

Instead, Comey continued, the question is whether any Americans conspired with a foreign government to commit crimes against the US, which is a crime.

@layman,
Look, once I get my $200,000 guaranteed minimum income, I don't care if I have to pay 90% in taxes. I'll still have 4-5 times as much as I make now, pickin aluminum cans out of dumpsters.

And I'll be able to lounge around in a heated and cooled emergency room when I pretend to have a cold, too. What's not to like!?
