@ehBeth,
That looks like a very predictable GOP move - protect big money (chamber of commerce) interests. If the GOP can't do that with Trump at the helm, they'll find it difficult or impossible to keep him in place regardless of whatever other "benefits" his presidency brings for them.

@blatham,
Take a look at the number of them that went public yesterday with objections to the Russia presser - and then had something else of #45's to publicly object to today.

When was the last time most of them said anything against his administration? I have no idea if any of them will keep it up, but a batch of them got some kind of courage to speak up after that presser.

Putin to Trump: “Put Hillary In Jail Before It’s Too Late”

Quote:
Putin urged Trump to incarcerate Hillary Clinton before her wicked schemes push society to the brink of destruction, says a White House source who accompanied Trump home aboard Air Force One. Putin assured Trump his words were simply suggestions, not attempts to undermine or manipulate American politics.

But, Putin had ample reason to sound the alarm. Without elaborating on his methods, he said the Russian Federal Service Bureau had obtained a wealth of credible data implicating Clinton in a plot to not only depose Trump but also plunge the world into a nuclear holocaust. Russian intelligence had somehow obtained a Clinton email, purportedly sent to Barack Obama, saying a nuclear conflict with Russia would be great for America and good for the world. Supposedly, the document highlighted a plan using America’s nuclear triad in massive first strike that would cripple Russia’s ability to launch a counterattack.

According to our source, Trump initially laughed at Putin’s comment, but his laughter quickly subsided when he saw the deadpan serious expression on Putin’s face.

“You must put Hillary Clinton in jail before it’s too late,” Putin allegedly said.

Our fact checker can do her thing. This is not the first time Killary has been accused of wanting war. I will not check, you really cannot check an unnamed source, because I believe it, and I have company.

Asked on Fox News whether he buys Trump's "wouldn't" revision, Sen. Rob Portman says he takes the president at his word.

This is the wisdom of modern conservatives - once you've sold your soul, there's no longer any necessity to act as a moral agent.

I'm impressed with Trump's "double negative" explanation. I guess he got his body language confused as well.

@ehBeth,
No question, yesterday was a very important event. But I have almost no faith at all in this modern GOP to behave ethically/honestly/morally. They'll want this to blow over (quickly) and they'll try to help with that. I can't imagine that they'll go rogue this close to the mid-terms because they are really going to need their base to turn out. Some distraction will be attempted if normal patterns hold and I expect they will hold.

Not a high crime, just glaringly incorrect, makes him sound a little dumb.

I know a dentist who is very, very, very good at reading body language. We can check with him.

Wait, hold on, this is getting lost in the fire:

The NRA was LITERALLY colluding with a Russian spy and within 24 HOURS, there’s a law that saves them from having to disclose their dark money donors to the IRS.

That’s a thing that happened.

@blatham,
Surely the GOP would take him at his word if he actually lived up to his word by telling Putin that to his face. Trump is the most cowardly little worm in history, not to mention a lying dog. (excuse my mixing of metaphors) Do they really buy this act today? Are they honestly that stupid? Or today they got back to politics as usual; most likely. I hate this era in our history.
