Wow, that's insightful!

Of course, the same thing could have been said on virtually every single day of human history, but this shouldn't take away from the brilliance of your observation.

Kudos

So good to see you again, and it's really swell to know you and cj follow me so closely, truly. I will try and follow your erudite example and strive to become quasi-acceptible in your eyes. I will leave no stone unturned in an effort to improve...........because there is absolutely nothing in this whole wide world that means more to me than your approval, nothing at all....well maybe I admire cj a little more because......well....he's obviously so much smarter than you.

Either that or, as some are suggesting, they go back to the original idea of a Weiner/Holder ticket...

@gungasnake,
They tolerated the NATO bombing of Serbia because they're military stumble bums who never recovered from their fiasco in Afghanistan. They tolerated it because there was nothing they could do about it.

This one is interesting (in a study-of-propaganda sort of way) TPM
Quote:
Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, shared a Facebook post Monday claiming that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was being falsely accused of lying about his knowledge of rampant sexual assault while coaching wrestling at Ohio State University.

“Jim Jordan is under attack, with false accusations, because he threatens the elite,” she wrote on the post with the video below.

First off, she has no knowledge or justification for her claim that Jordan is innocent. That's just dishonest. And as a lawyer, she knows that she's being dishonest but her politically extremist ideas trump her integrity.

But the bit I love is in bold. Her husband is a supreme court justice. He and she have alliances with the Koch brothers. Both are intimately tied into the power structures of modern US conservatism. So just who on earth does she imagine constitutes some "elite" if not her and her husband (and their close political and social allies)? Sociology professors? Hollywood actresses? Late night TV hosts? Rap artists? And of course, she's being dishonest again in her claim to know that any "elite" is behind the accusations.

Does she actually believe what she says? It's impossible to know for sure but we can note that here she is pushing the same claims that Jordan himself is making, that Trump has made (and undoubtedly what Fox et al are pushing). There's no independent thought here. This is the continuing fantasy of conservative victimization and, then, the use of political and messaging strategies which do not have to be bound by normal ethical codes (like honesty) because of the imagined victimization.

Meanwhile back in Canada..
Quote:
The Canadian Association of Retired Persons (CARP) has gone overboard in promoting euthanasia. In 2016, CARP hired Wanda Morris, who at that time was the CEO of the euthanasia lobby group Dying With Dignity, as CARP’s VP of advocacy.

CARP is now a pro-euthanasia advocacy group.

CARP which is a national, non-partisan, non-profit organization was essentially neutral on euthanasia until Moses Znaimer, the former owner of CITY TV, took over CARP.

The recent article by Wanda Morris promotes euthanasia while attacking palliative care institutions and medical providers who are not willing to kill their patients by euthanasia.

You can't refuse to kill someone? Apparently there are facilities that do that. Use them.

This is a tad personal but here goes.

I'm presently working with a few internal conflicts. They're important, not shallow.

The bitch of this is that it's me on either side so I don't know if I'm winning.

Trump’s Personal Driver for 25 Years Sues for Unpaid Overtime

Quote:
(Bloomberg) -- Donald Trump’s personal driver for more than 25 years says the billionaire real estate developer didn’t pay him overtime and raised his salary twice in 15 years, clawing back the second raise by cutting off his health benefits.

Noel Cintron, who is listed in public records as a registered Republican, sued the Trump Organization for about 3,300 hours of overtime that he says he worked in the past six years. He’s not allowed to sue for overtime prior to that due to the statute of limitations.

“In an utterly callous display of unwarranted privilege and entitlement and without even a minimal sense of noblesse oblige,” Trump and his businesses exploited the driver, Cintron says in the complaint.

Cintron says he was required to be on duty for Trump starting at 7 a.m. each day until whenever Trump, his family or business associates no longer required his services. He worked as long as 55 hours per week, but was paid a fixed salary of $62,700 in 2003, $68,000 in 2006, and $75,000 in 2010, according to the complaint.

The wage bump in 2010 came with a catch, Cintron said. He was induced to surrender his health insurance, saving Trump approximately $17,866 per year in premiums, according to the lawsuit.

"President Trump’s further callousness and cupidity is further demonstrated by the fact that while he is purportedly a billionaire, he has not given his personal driver a meaningful raise in over 12 years!" Cintron said.

Donald Trump Will See You in Court

A Trump Organization spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a call for comment.

So tell me who on the left has a documented history of over 3000 lies, untruths, falsehoods, distortions and outright false inventions in just a year and a half. Trumps' fake news record is unmatched. The number of people he's trashed is unmatched too. The number of American allies he's pissed okff is unmatched too. Ain't the left. It's the right.
