@blatham,
Potential for corruption is an inherent quality of public office, no matter who is serving. An uneducated former bus driver in Venezuela (with no previous business experience or connections of any kind) is doing a pretty good job right now in fleecing the unfortunate peoople of that country; enriching himself and the drug-dealing cadre of military and socialist movement folks who surround him.

I read that the Clintons have recently announced their intent to shut down the Clinton World initiative element of their foundation and lay off its employees. Actually they are merely ratifying an unfolding fact as covernments across the work shut down and terminate their continuing donations. Very strange given the many Clinon assurances that there were no pay-offs promised or implied in these contributions to the fund and to nthe Clintons for associated speeches and services.

@georgeob1,
Of course it also prevents more counts from being added to the indictment, eh, George? Now that the have no more influence to peddle, the Clintons' "friends" are doing them a favor by refusing to make donations.

Well, then again, maybe not. It really just helps the evidence pile up, come to think about it.

That is the way it will happen if it does.

I believe you should have written "only way": though I agree with the "if it does" part. Think that one through, and eveluate the tradeoffs and consequences, through the eyes of the actors whose future behavior you are considering, and ask yourself just what might be the situation required to ignite such action. I can conceive of such a situation, but I cannot project its occurrence, given what we know so far. ON the contrary the indicators so far point in a very different direction.

However, for those still stuck in denial and in the grip of fantasies of the quick restoral of a lost past I suppose it can appear attractive, .... but still unrealistic.

The time has come for Democrats to sit down, be quiet and listen to the winds of change & needs of Americans today.

@MontereyJack,
Trump is a circus spinster, and many Americans still doesn't catch it. Once they buy their ticket, they're going to see that Trump's ego is bigger than his brain. He's a 70 year old infant.

The drama-queenery around this here joint has done gone clean over the cotton-pickin top, eh?

I agree, and on reading Blatham's words again I was immediately struck by the hypocrisy and projection on the parts of Blathm and the Democrat's , whose own repeated behaviors perfectly match this phony collection of charges they have levied against Trump.

I also thought "drama-queenery" was perfectly on target.

@giujohn,
You guys don't know anything about me. We're financially better off than the majority living on this planet. I've traveled to over 80 countries, all five continents, and have friends in many countries including Russia. I have met many famous people including entertainers and politicians.
Just from a2k, I have met joefromchicago, Walter and Ulla Hinteler in Lippstadt, Sergey in Moscow, fbaezer in Mexico City, Lindsay Hamilton in London, Bashir Samma in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, georgeob1 and Cyclo in San Francisco, JPB in Chicago, Frank in NYC, edgarblythe in Houston, Francis from Paris, Jane from San Diego, and Prince from London.
I've flown to the top of Mt Everest, soaked my feet in the Dead Sea, landed at Esperanza Base in Antarctica, knelt at the spot where Jesus was born, walked on the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, been to the top of the Empire State Building and Sear's Tower, the Eiffel Tower, saw the supposed grave of Columbus, been to the top of the Berlin Tower, Shanghai Tower, the Sydney Tower and bridge, cruised on the Great Barrier Reef, flew over Igassu Falls, cruised on the Nile, the Volga in Russia, the Yangse in China, the Elbe in Germany, the Siene in Paris, have cruised across the Atlantic twice, and been on two African safaris. Yes, my life has been very limited, because I wish I had done more.

Perhaps so. However it is demonstrably true.

Trump isn't yet in office and you are talking about the potential for something that has not yet occurred. Those with power can create their own potential if they have the will to do so, as history amply demonstrates.

BTW did you read today's story about the forthcoming closure of the Clinton World Initiative, following the recent abrupt terminations of contributions from numerous former national donors? Can you think of any recent events that might have cause this ratther unusual conjunction of new decisions, made by so many independent asctors around the world? We all of course can rest assured there was no pay to play involved in all of that, and certainly there was no possible corruption that was or could be facilitated by these extensive world-wide connections.

Do you see any similarity with the phony arguments you heve been putting forwrd here?
