Dem congresswoman among anti-Trump protesters arrested inside Capitol office building

Washington Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal is among the more than 500 protesters who were arrested inside a Capitol office building on Thursday while demonstrating against President Trump’s policies on illegal immigration.

“I was just arrested with 500+ women and @WomensMarch to say @RealDonaldTrump’s cruel zero-tolerance policy will not continue. Not in our country. Not in our name. June 30 we’re putting ourselves in the street again,” Jayapal tweeted.

At one point, protesters and police were seen battling over the signs in the building. Capitol police were seen trying to rip down “abolish ICE” signs from the balconies, but the protestors were keep trying to take them back and hang them up.

'No Borders, No Nations': Occupy ICE Protesters Mobilize, Call for ICE to Be Abolished

Protesters gathered outside U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in New York City to protest the agency's tactics and the Trump administration's “zero tolerance” policy toward illegal border crossings.

Fox News' Todd Piro spoke to some of the Occupy ICE demonstrators, who were blocking the loading dock of ICE headquarters in New York City.

Protesters said they want to prevent ICE from doing its job, and some called for the federal agency to be dismantled altogether.

The Washington Post reported that the Occupy ICE movement began in Portland, Oregon, and the success there has led to it spreading to other cities.

Several people said they want the U.S. to adopt an open borders policy, with one woman declaring, "No borders, no nations."

One protestor declared victory, saying they that they had "succeeded" because the facility had shut down for the day.

The case President Trump and his allies have built against the Justice Department and the FBI is circumstantial at best.
And on Thursday, the various arguments Trump and his Republican allies have leaned on to suggest or outright claim FBI bias against the president got knocked down, one by one, by the top of the bureau's chain of command.

Wray and Rosenstein, who appointed special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, testified Thursday for hours to the House's Judiciary Committee.
