@gungasnake,
That's something only a Nazi and an apologist for war criminals could say. Something that could only be said by those who hate the truth.

The Srebrenica massacre is well documented with hundreds of independent sources, many accounts by neutral observers. The fact that you continue to peddle such disgusting lies is why most people on A2K treat you with contempt and revulsion.

Well, seems to me you wish to claim that my sense of humor is deficient because I listen to four widely acclaimed talk show hosts, each with a subscriber count in the millions? And when I say I enjoy listening to them, it's my sense of humor that is lacking?

I'm guessing your sense of humor might need some maintenance, if that's the case...

However, using derogatory terms like 'Obunga' to refer to an African-American president doesn't really tickle my funnybone, you know?

Yeah, I hear ya. The proper way to refer to an American President is the way your homeys do, like this, eh?

The only thing Donald Trump's mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin's cock holster.

But why not go the whole damn hog and call him a "flaming faggot," I ax ya?

@layman,
Gunga seems to think the world of Vladimir though, so why the upset? Also note that at least Colbert got Donald Trump's name right...

For the record, I am not a fan of that type of discours. I was not a fan of that remark either, but I will note it's funny that it created a storm of protest from the 'right', in light of your earlier defense of gunga's 'colorful and hyperbolic humor'.

I don't know if it was a "storm," but you're right about one thing: There was certainly no protest coming from the left.

@layman,
Well, at least Colbert explained himself, eh?

Stephen Colbert wrote:
“Now, folks, if you saw my monologue on Monday, you know that I was a little upset at Donald Trump for insulting a friend of mine,” the host said. “So, at the end of that monologue, I had a few choice insults for the president in return. I don’t regret that."

“When you insult one member of the CBS family, you insult us all,” he said, reeling off a series of scripted jokes and ending on, “In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s cock holster.”

So, there ya have it, then, eh? It's a tribalistic kinda thing, I get it.

Some on the left did seem to have some protest about what Colbert said, but it wasn't because he tried to humiliate Trump. This guy at the Atlantic goes on to say:

Quote:
...Colbert should be smart enough to know how ridiculously passé it is to use “gay panic” jokes to try and get a rise from audiences. Colbert, of course, has every right to make fun of the president...[but] he may well think twice the next time he or his staff are writing another joke like that one.

It’s ok to be homophobic if you say you’re a liberal.

@layman,
He meant it in the sense as someone calling someone a brown nose. Personally I think he could have used other words, but he is in the comedy business. Did the gay community protest or only conservatives? If the gay community protested, then even though he might not have meant as homophobic or whatever, he should apologize for offending them.

The following stupid decision from Supreme Court is why elections, all elections are so important and why sometimes parties matters over individuals unless of course the individual is an offensive jerk with no clue how to be president.

Supreme Court upholds Trump's travel ban, bolsters president's power to block new arrivals

Right.... You have something signed by the mayors and chairpersons for the chambers of commerce of those cities to indicate that??

Interesting decision.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/6/26/17505768/supreme-court-california-abortion-decision

if you follow the reasoning (?) through, it also means that pro-choice information providers don't have to provide information about alternatives they don't support

Quote:
There is one interesting byproduct of the Court’s decision, though. Republican-led states have increasingly set strict requirements for what doctors must tell a woman before they perform an abortion. Those state laws have been challenged but upheld over the question of whether they restrict a woman’s right to abortion.

Now, however, it is possible that those laws could be challenged on a First Amendment basis, arguing that such requirements violate the doctors’ free speech rights. As Eric Citron, a Harvard Law School lecturer who has clerked for two Supreme Court justices, wrote on SCOTUSblog after the ruling:

One interesting dynamic in this case is that many states have laws telling abortion providers what they need to say to women seeking abortions. Those laws have been challenged as undue burdens on the right to obtain an abortion — and, as Breyer points out, have been upheld since Casey. But they haven’t been challenged under the kind of First Amendment theory developed here. In the long run, the ruling here may limit states’ ability to force doctors to provide certain kinds of information.

link to the full decision is at the vox link above

__

I do think this portion of the decision is very problematic

Quote:
The law also requires centers that do not have a state medical license to disclose that fact, which the court also ruled was likely a violation of their constitutional protections.
