I'm not sure, if our our center-right government likes it (they are fighting the against the growing far-right movement here), but it's at least not how diplomatic norms have been seen until now: the U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, said he wanted to "empower" conservatives in Europe, in an interview with right-wing Breitbart News.

Well, actually any immigration. And like their leading figure said yesterday: the Nazi-period is just a bird's **** in our history.

So it's the job of the US ambassador to Germany to promote and support government changes here in Europe?
The United States was granted observer status to the Council of Europe decades ago, the have a diplomatic delegation at the EU (if 'Europe' is considered to be smaller) and quite a few ambassadors in other EU (and European) countries.

US Ambassador to Germany Grenell expressed a deep respect and admiration for the Austrian Chancellor Kurz ... well, we had had an Austrian as Chancellor in Germany already some decades ago.

Thank you. But you really should change the diplomacy.state.gov website now!

But just for the record: I will never agree that the Nazi-period was a "bird's ****". And I will fight for my and others constitutional rights, whatever coldjoint and the US ambassador to Germany thinks about them.
