Why answer a question with a question? Most likely because you have no answer that will not make you look like a highly educated hypocrite.

Meanwhile Iraqi voters react to American bullying in the region.

Quote:
The bloc led by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi is trailing in third place in Iraq's parliamentary elections, according to partial results.

With more than half of votes counted, a nationalist alliance between Shia Muslim cleric Moqtada Sadr and mostly secular groups is in the lead.

It is followed by a bloc linked to Iranian-backed Shia paramilitaries who fought the Islamic State (IS) group.

The elections are the first since Iraq declared victory over IS in December.

The final results are due to be announced later on Monday, triggering what are expected to be lengthy negotiations to form a new coalition government.

The US has called for an "inclusive government, responsive to the needs of all Iraqis".

Some 5,000 American troops are in Iraq supporting local forces in the battle against IS, a Sunni Muslim jihadist group.

On Sunday night, officials from Iraq's election commission announced the almost full returns from 10 of Iraq's 19 provinces, including Baghdad and Basra.

According to these early results:

The Saeroun (Marching Towards Reform) list - an alliance between Mr Sadr's Istiqama (Integrity) party and six mostly secular groups, including the Iraqi communist party - has the most votes in six provinces
Fatah (Conquest) - an alliance that comprises the political wings of militias in the Shia-led paramilitary Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilisation) force and is led by former Transport Minister Hadi al-Amiri - is ahead in four provinces
The Nasr (Victory) Alliance of Mr Abadi, who is also Shia, is in third place
If Mr Sadr and his allies maintain their position, it will represent a stunning comeback for the cleric, the BBC's Martin Patience reports from Baghdad.

In contrast, our correspondent adds, the early results are a setback for Mr Abadi, who had hoped to capitalise on the defeat of IS to bolster his own chances.

Turnout in the election was 44.5% - much lower than in previous polls.

Moqtada Sadr, son of an assassinated Shia cleric, he rose to prominence after the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 that toppled Saddam Hussein.

His fearsome Mehdi Army militia led two uprisings against US forces, whose withdrawal he consistently demanded, and was blamed for the killing of thousands of Sunni Muslims in the sectarian violence that plagued Iraq in 2006 and 2007.

Mr Sadr fled to Iran before the Iraqi government launched a crackdown on the Mehdi Army and remained in self-imposed exile until 2011, after playing a key role in the reappointment of then Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

In recent years, Mr Sadr has distanced himself from Iran and reinvented himself as an Iraqi nationalist and anti-corruption campaigner.

In 2016, his supporters stormed the parliament building in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone when the main political factions resisted their demands that Mr Abadi tackle corruption and replace the ministers in his cabinet with technocrats.

For this year's elections, Mr Sadr's party and its allies campaigned on a platform of fighting corruption and investing in public services.

After the announcement of the partial election results, supporters took to the streets of Baghdad's Sadr City district - named after his late father - to celebrate. One of them said the outcome signalled the start of a "new chapter for the Iraqi people".

Mr Sadr cannot be appointed prime minister as he did not stand in the election but his apparent victory could make him the kingmaker in the coalition negotiations.

Don't be silly. Telling them to act like civilized humans is hardly bullying.

As for the Iraqi election results, they may be a good thing. The "good" candidates all suck up to us, but then they undermine us, stab us in the back, and allow Iran to control much of Iraq.

Muqtada al-Sadr has always been unreasonably anti-American, but he is always upfront and honest in his positions, and he wants Iranian soldiers out of Iraq.

It may very well be that Muqtada al-Sadr, despite his unreasonable anti-Americanism, will ultimately turn out to be the best out of all of the available candidates as far as American interests in the region are concerned.

Neither does Trump. You guys felt this same way about Reagan when he was taking down the USSR. Hated your own President in favor of a Communist regime. In this case you don't even have Communists to side with, it is the far leftist who are doing this on their own. Talk about hate for your own country and wanting to see it fail.

Now tRump derides the past administration for not being able to negotiate the release of 3 Americans held hostage in N.Korea. 2 of them were captured in 2017. He spews this kind of garbage and doesn't get checked on it by his zombies.

Of course you're never going to change his "blame everything on Obama" mentality on the weak minded but people still need to know the truth!

White House can't stop controversy over staffer's John McCain comment.

Quote:
The White House hoped Monday to put to rest a five-day controversy over a crass remark about Sen. John McCain. But the matter seemed poised to continue festering as the staffer in question, Kelly Sadler, declined to offer a public apology for saying the Arizona Republican is "dying anyway."

Instead, deputy press secretary Raj Shah said Sadler's remark -- made last week during an internal staff meeting -- had been "dealt with internally" and wouldn't comment further.

Over the weekend, a number of Republican lawmakers and officials expressed puzzlement at how the White House could allow Sadler's remark to go without a public apology.

In a phone call last week, Sadler called the senator's daughter Meghan McCain to apologize. In that conversation, Sadler indicated she would issue a public apology as well, according to a source familiar with the conversation.

But such a public acknowledgment of regret hasn't yet come forward, spurring the story into another week.

So you conservatives think that getting a Non Disclosure Agreement signed empowers the president to lie to the American people without consequences? "My fellow Americans, I would have loved to tell you the truth about what happened with Stormy and I, but if I did that then I would have wasted all that money on a Non Disclosure Agreement that I had Cohen set up in secret. I'm sure you didn't send me to the White House to act like a spendthrift. That's why I got the Russian oligarch to pay Cohen back for the money he fronted me to pay her, saved me $130,000. And I pledge to the American people right now, this is only one of the cost efficiencies we plan to bring to the workings of the US government. Trust me, there will be plenty more."

If there is a problem with Europeans paying up, any real leader would take that up behind closed doors, not in front of a hostile world. NATO was formed right after WWII to prevent Russia from taking over Western Europe like it had just taken over Eastern Europe. By presenting a united front, NATO prevented that from happening for forty years. Then Russia collapsed economically in 1991 and couldn't afford to pay its own army, so the captive Iron Curtain countries could get away from Russian dominance and begin moving ahead. But they knew they were still in danger from Russia coming to take them back, so they applied to NATO. Russia dared not attack an Eastern European country that was a NATO member.

But then Trump started talking about how our allies needed to pay more. And maybe we should leave NATO, (music to Putin's ears). And how from now on we should forget about commitments to defend freedom and instead deal with Russia on the basis of mutual self-interest. Presumably, that means if Russia wants to take over Eastern Europe again, they can have it as long as we get our cut. Trump has done a great job trying to rend apart the unity that NATO has had for seventy years and which has defended freedom so well, in order to curry favor with Putin. This is a dangerous situation.

Quote Baldimo:
Quote:

No, we did not agree with Reagan's trickle down domestic policies, but I know of no liberal who spoke out in defense of the Communist regime that was falling down. We were there cheering the Soviet Union's demise. This is as opposed to Trump, who constantly seeks to reward Russia for it's takeover of Ukrainian Crimea and it's invasion of Eastern Ukraine proper by getting rid of the sanctions that got put in under Obama. And Trump's hiring of a campaign manager, Manafort, who he didn't even pay to run his campaign-Trump let the Russians pay Manafort. And Trump hired a national security advisor, Flynn, who was heard reassuring the Russian ambassador that Trump will have Obama's sanctions against Russia removed. And Trump hired another national security advisor, Carter Page, who was unknowingly hanging around with a Russian spy ring until its members got busted. This is the guy Trump had advising him on how to keep the country secure. And of course, Trump installed Jeff Sessions as Attorney General, who promptly lied to the Senate confirmation committee about meeting the Russian ambassador secretly. And then later had it discovered he met the ambassador again. Clearly, Trump was the Manchurian Candidate and has stocked his Administration with people who will do Putin's bidding. What a disgrace.

The Palestinians chose to try to murder Israeli soldiers and invade Israel.

If it had been my call, the response would not have been nearly as restrained as Israel's response was.
