Cranking up a new and long-overdue awards category...

Orwellian Lie of the Day (h/t Steven Greenhouse)
Quote:
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said President Trump will not address the ongoing investigation into collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia because no Americans care about the issue.

At Monday's White House briefing, Sanders said: “We spend more time on that than we do any other topic despite the fact that time and time again, poll after poll says that frankly no one cares about this issue

Of course, Sanders didn't cite any actual polls as there aren't any which support her lie.

Here's the truth

And it is so even with many Trump supporters
Quote:
More than a quarter — 27 percent — of Americans who identify as “conservative”
More than 1 in 10 — 14 percent — of Republicans, and nearly 1 in 5 — 17 percent — of those who lean Republican
More than a third — 36 percent — of white non-college Americans
More than 4 in 10 — 43 percent — of Americans 65 and older believe Trump interfered
More than a third — 36 percent — of white men believe he interfered

How does anyone imagine that a free and functioning democracy can be maintained when those in power lie with such facility every day?

Can someone explain to me how the subject of an investigation gets to read information about the investigation against him? And then decide whether it's appropriate to make it public?

Who knew that "filing a suit" that is going to be lost in court is "beating" someone, eh?

The fact is: Trump has lost many cases in court. How can you be sure he would win this case?

In addition, haven't you noticed the word "unconstitutional" there? Federal courts don't take Trump's order, they are independent. Trump's unconstitutional orders will be rebutted.

It sounds like somebody's jealous of Trump's sex life.

No, it doesn't sound like that at all. Unless you think the people who brought Bill Clinton's accusers to attend his debate with Hillary were jealous of his sex life. Why wouldn't you simply see this as an attempt to rattle the guy's cage and make his denials seem foolish?

I was really hoping that Trump would have wound up the war in Afghanistan by now. Looks like the "millennials" will be shipping their kids off to continue the good fight. What are we trying to accomplish again?

@hightor,
Frankly, I think it is driven by the dynamics of the American war industry.

How bad do things have to be when this guy gets upset and frightened?

Set aside for a moment that Trump is a narcissistic, bad-tempered, lazy, and unprepared president, and consider this: the State of the Union is about to be given by a sexual predator who lost the popular vote by almost 3 million votes.

@blatham,
Nothing in your poll says anything about whether any of these people with "beliefs" give a **** about it.

Poll, after poll, after poll has shown that, cheese-eaters aside, "russia" is WAY down the list about what people care about, jobs, for example, are a much bigger concern.

ust quit lyin, willya?

What I have noticed, and will continue to notice, is that the Supreme Court strikes down the the rulings of supposed "unconstitutionality" of the candyass Ninth Circus, and they will continue to.

@oristarA,
She lost the election to Donald Trump! She spent 1.5 BILLION DOLLARS.

She had the media and black America in her back pocket.

You’ve got to be pretty hated to lose under those circumstances.

We all know that you hate her. She lost because she ran a crap campaign. She out-polled Plump by more than three million votes. So it's not as though the nation hates here as obsessively as you do.

What crimes? Have common sense: In dubio pro reo! Comey has made clear that he could neither prove nor disprove the guilty of Hillary. America has not yet abandoned the principle of presumption of innocence.

Oops! It should have been "disprove the guilt of Hillary" rather than "disprove the guilty of Hillary."

Do you guys care about such grammatical mistakes?
