@layman,
Miller, he ROCKS, eh!?

Quote:
Stephen Miller’s off-camera confrontation with CNN’s Jake Tapper: ‘You should be ashamed of yourself’

White House policy adviser and Trump loyalist Stephen Miller tried to finish his combative conversation with CNN’s Jake Tapper after the cameras stopped rolling on Sunday but the anchor wanted no part of it, according to a CNN source.

“You should be ashamed of yourself, honestly,” Miller said.

Tapper then got personal, telling Miller that “this is the reason they don’t put you out on TV.”

Don’t act all offended,” Tapper told Miller.

“I’m not acting offended. I am offended. I’m offended by you and I’m offended by your network.”

Business Insider reported on Sunday that Miller refused to leave and had to be escorted off the set.

Miller did not respond to request for comment. CNN did not respond when asked for an official comment.

“Jake Tapper of Fake News CNN just got destroyed in his interview with Stephen Miller of the Trump Administration. Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!” Trump tweeted after the interview aired.

What a flunky, eh? You hide and watch. One of these days Miller, lead pipe in his mitts, will catch Tapper on a dark street late at night, eh?

A worthwhile series to watch/read/listen to when you can grab some chunks of time

This series explores the concerns of Americans living in small towns and the countryside. Differences between them and their urban counterparts often extend beyond the geographic to political, religious and cultural spheres, contributing to what some are calling a divided America.

Ohr beat down again after being caught corruptly letting Hezbollah off the hook

Quote:
DOJ official who concealed meetings with Trump dossier figures loses another job title

A Justice Department official demoted late last year for concealing his meetings with the men behind the anti-Trump “dossier” has been stripped of yet another title, Fox News has learned. Bruce Ohr is no longer head of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

Ohr had been demoted from the position of associate deputy attorney general, after it was revealed he had conducted undisclosed meetings with dossier author Christopher Steele and Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that produced the salacious document.

At the time of his demotion, DOJ officials told Fox News that Bruce Ohr had been "wearing two hats." Now, Ohr has been stripped of that role as well. It is unclear where Ohr has landed, only that he is still an employee with the Department of Justice. One DOJ insider joked that Ohr might end up in “one of those offices without a phone.”

Bruce Ohr, as the head of OCDETF, was directly involved with Project Cassandra, the interagency investigation spearheaded by the DEA that tracked a massive international drug and money laundering scheme allegedly run by Hezbollah.

Those closest to Project Cassandra, including Derek Maltz, the now-retired supervisory DEA agent who was a major player in the operation, claim the project and its potential prosecutions were sidelined by senior Obama administration officials who didn't want to upset Iran in the lead-up to the historic nuclear deal with Tehran in 2015.

The quintessential political hack, eh?

@revelette1,
They will say, or imply, that all the good things (good in their view) will have come from others, not Trump. There doesn't have to be anything truthful or consistent in what they say or how they say it. If the electoral necessity is to consign Trump to the garbage dump, that's what they'll do. If they feel they have to convince Trump voters (coal miners, say, or those on food stamps) that he betrayed their trust while "true conservatism" had and has their backs, that's what they'll say. If they lose quality and low cost health insurance, they'll swear Trump caused that to happen. Truth has no importance here. Power is everything.

@Olivier5,
and, I thought you were so much smarter than this Olivier. Live and learn. I could give you hundreds of points in history, and it only takes one revoluntion, one world war, one civil war or one leader. good luck with blinds half down dude! At most the U?SA would fall to second or third because the only country in real contention is China and I don't believe Russia has the broad economic base to really contend. Europe had a chance, but Brexit blew that wide apart.

I'll give you one example, AW Bush had brought us way down and Obama brought us back. Agreed, not as far down as tRump will end up doing, but we will continue to have economic and military might. Just loosing in diplomatic and probably trade arenas. ?Not has dire as you want it to be.

@Walter Hinteler,

Mueller indicates he will likely seek interview with Trump
I'm sure you can imagine how much Trump's lawyers DO NOT want Trump to speak with Mueller's team. They guy is so stupid that he told a reporter he'd gotten rid of Comey because of the Russia investigation.

If there is anything one needs to grasp, it is this

Today’s conservative movement and GOP, or a big part of it, doesn’t believe in the democratic and republican principles that many of us consider foundational.

Donald Trump's lawyers are in talks with investigators who are seeking to interview the US president as part of a justice department probe, reports say.

The Washington Post, quoting an unnamed person close to Mr Trump, says investigation lead Robert Mueller is likely to interview him within weeks.

Mr Trump's legal team has not confirmed the reports.

Mr Mueller is investigating possible collusion between Trump's 2016 campaign and Russia in the US elections.

Tensions between Mr Mueller, the special counsel appointed to look into alleged Russian interference, and the president have risen since the investigation led to charges against several former members of Mr Trump's campaign team.

Mr Trump's administration denies working with Russia on the election, and the president has labelled the investigation "a witch hunt".

According to The Post, Mr Mueller first raised the possibility of interviewing the president in a meeting with his lawyers, John Dowd and Jay Sekulow, in late December.

"This is moving faster than anyone really realises," the newspaper quotes a person within the president's circle, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Mr Trump's lawyers are reluctant to allow him to sit down for open-ended questioning and are discussing whether to allow him to provide written answers to some of the questions, The Washington Post and NBC News report.

According to NBC, which cited three people close to the story, the talks are "preliminary and ongoing".

President Trump's legal team did not confirm the reports, but told both media outlets: "The White House is continuing its full co-operation with the OSC [Office of Special Counsel Robert Mueller] in order to facilitate the earliest possible resolution."

A spokesman for Mr Mueller also declined to comment.

The Post, quoting an unnamed source, says the two sides planned to meet again to continue discussions on terms and substance of any interview.

Aside from the Russia angle, special counsel Robert Mueller may also look into whether the president and his inner circle sought to obstruct justice while in office following the firing of FBI director James Comey.

Mr Trump in a later TV interview connected his sacking of Mr Comey with a prior investigation into Russia and the 2016 election led by the then-FBI boss.

Mr Comey testified that in a private meeting prior to his dismissal, the president had asked him to show leniency in an inquiry into his top aide, Michael Flynn.

President Trump has repeatedly denied accusations he pressed Mr Comey to drop his inquiries.

Robert Mueller was appointed by the justice department as special counsel shortly after Mr Comey's dismissal.

Sitting presidents have been interviewed by prosecutors in the past, most notably when Democrat President Bill Clinton testified before a grand jury in 1998 over his sexual relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Justice department officials quoted by NBC say Mr Mueller is unlikely to pass up on an opportunity to interview the president directly.

Two of President Trump's former aides, including Mr Flynn, have already been implicated in Mr Mueller's investigation and are acting as witnesses for the probe.

Last month Mr Flynn, Mr Trump's short-lived national security adviser, became the most senior official to be charged after admitting to making false statements to the FBI about meetings with Russia's ambassador.

The US intelligence community has already concluded that Moscow tried to sway the presidential election in favour of Mr Trump, though Russia denies this.

@BillW,
I'm not talking about the US economy shriking or being overcome by China's. I'm talking about US prestige abroad. Electing a dunce as president did have an impact on what people abroad think of the US overal.
