@Olivier5,
If everyone believes it, it should be a piece of cake to share the smoking gun evidence that has been so convincing.

What action did Russia authorize that directly altered the outcome of the 2016 election?

@Lash,
They hacked election lists and the DNC emails, and spread lies all over the web.

Who didn't meddle?

India, UNESCO, and FIFA seem to have clean hands. I wonder if there are any others?

What is the legal definition of meddling?

I'm not a lawyer but I think the potential illegality would arise if Trump campaign officials can be proved to have encouraged the leaks or provided something in response to their release.

As has been explained many, many times before, no one is trying to prove a direct correlation between Russian interference and Clinton's loss. That would be impossible.

@hightor,
In this instance (she has a huge mental problem with the Clinton's, I think she needs to be seen professionally for it) Lash is guilty of trolling on the question of Russian interference with the US presidential election of 2016; according to the definitions which were spelled out on this forum not too days past. My advice; ignore it. Just saying.

@revelette1,
People like you will continue to stick your head in the sand when you encounter legitimate opinions that don’t mirror yours—and you’ll continue to be surprised as your political party drains to a minor footnote from the past.

There are people from the far left — and of course, righties — who see real holes and outrageously dishonest motives behind this phony Russian narrative. It was born as a desperate colossal distraction from the REAL NEWS giving email evidence of DNC cheating during the primaries —. Hillary Clinton’s team elevated trump to pied piper status and we can thank them for President Trump.

THAT was the fact you guys don’t seem to mind so much.

THAT was the fact this stupid fake ass Russian narrative was born to camouflage.

THAT is why people like me know the Russia story is bullshit.

It happened on the same day.

The Russians didn’t write Neera Tanden’s dirty little subversive emails.

@revelette1,
Earlier in this thread, I posted a link to a thread that she started here more than fourteen years ago to attack the Clintons. She's obsessed. She has also, once again, successfully diverted the discussion from Plump to Clinton.

@Lash,
You mean that, when the truth contradicts your obsessive hatred of Democrats, then the truth must be false... :-)

Stop diverting this thread all the time, Set. It's about relevant, contemporary events, for heavens sake. Stick to relevant and contemporary events, or shut up already...

Close.

When the truth contradicts your obsessive support of the Democrat party, it must be false. 😇

Well, we do have Hillary to thank for President Trump. I don’t think we should deny her full credit...

@Lash,
You should have stopped with "I don't think." That would have been perfect, and unlike most of your product, absolutely true.

@Lash,
The problem with your version is: I never liked the Dems that much... The guy I like is Bernie, and sure enough he agrees the Russians interfered in Trump's favor. He's is soooo truthful and smart and honest, you know?

The kremlebots ("Агентство интернет-исследований" = Internet Research Agency) are known here to act on social media since a June 2014 BuzzFeed article - in Russia, Novaya Gazeta ("Новая газета") reported about the "Trolls from Olgino" already in 2013.

Lots Of Alabama Voters Care About Roy Moore’s Scandals
But it might not be enough to stop him from winning.
(Nate Silver)

Quote:
Roy Moore, who has been accused by two women of initiating unwanted sexual contact with them when they were underaged, is back in the lead in the most recent polls of Alabama’s Senate race. Although it’s still anyone’s election — turnout is hard to model in special elections and Moore’s lead is narrow — he has to be considered at least a modest favorite.

If Moore wins, you’re liable to see a lot of commentary along the lines of what the notoriously corrupt Democratic Gov. Edwin Edwards said when seeking to regain Louisiana’s governorship in 1983: “The only way I can lose this election is if I’m caught in bed with either a dead girl or a live boy.” (Edwards won by 26 percentage points.) Or, if you prefer a more recent example, what President Trump said about his political base in 2016: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.” That is to say, a Moore win would be taken as a canonical example of how politicians can get away with almost anything — even allegedly molesting two teenage girls — and still win elections so long as their base remains loyal to them.

The truth is a little more complicated than that. Moore — even if he wins by a few points — will have vastly underperformed a typical Republican in Alabama. He’ll have benefitted from running in a highly partisan epoch in a deeply red state and from drawing an opponent in Democrat Doug Jones who has fairly liberal policy views, including on abortion. If Alabama were just slightly less red — say, if it were South Carolina or Texas instead — Jones would be on track to win, perhaps by a comfortable margin. In Alabama, he’s an underdog. Nonetheless, the marginal effect of the allegations and of Moore’s other controversies may be fairly large.

It’s really hard for a Democrat to win in Alabama

Alabama has been an extremely red state since the demise of the Solid South. Moreover, it’s been consistently red; unlike states such as West Virginia, where Democrats are sometimes viable in races for local office and for Congress, Alabama has been voting Republican for pretty much everything. There are currently no Democrats who hold statewide office in Alabama. With one exception, all members of the state’s Congressional delegation are Republicans. And in recent elections for president, Congress and governor, the Republican candidate has won by an average of about 30 percentage points.

@Olivier5,
So, you don’t require any proof? You just trust the talking heads...even though the Russian narrative “broke” the day of the Wikileaks email dump?

That’s what you’re saying?
