@oralloy,
Here is how Kaep describes it.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/theundefeated.com/features/colin-kaepernick-protests-anthem-over-treatment-of-minorities/amp/

Excerpt:

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick says he refused to stand during the national anthem Friday because of his views on the country’s treatment of racial minorities.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Mediaafter Friday’s game. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

The 49ers acknowledged in a statement that Kaepernick sat on the team’s bench during the national anthem before their game against the Green Bay Packers.

Tom Price to halt taxpayer-funded travel on private jets pending review
POLITICO has identified more than $400,000 in charter jet spending for the HHS secretary's travels since May.

And then, after reporters have reported on his unnecessary profligacy, this selfish, pompous, greedy little swamp bastard said this:
Quote:
“We’ve heard the criticism. We’ve heard the concerns. We take that very seriously and have taken it to heart,” Price said.

So Trump is right then. That scumbag wants blacks to be able to murder police officers with impunity, and he is disrespecting our flag because no one will allow him to fulfil his murderous urges.

@oralloy,
oral,

Do you know the stories of Philando Castile, Oscar Grant, Sandra Bland, and Eric Garner?

These are just the first four that come to mind.

Their stories are important.

@Real Music,
Quote:
"The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture," Goodell said in the statement. "There is no better example than the amazing response from our clubs and players to the terrible natural disasters we've experienced over the last month. Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities."

And how do they accomplish what they say?

Each one of those players make millions of dollars, and by the way they say they help the communities in need, hope each one of the players have donated at least a million dollars for the affected people in the recent natural disasters.

Because if their way to help the community is by organizing a parade in the streets, then these dudes are clowns.

If their way to help the community is by playing sports in order to collect money, for the general audience I will tell you that they will get paid anyway and will make profit. So, there you have your clowns again.

And this also applies for actors,who get paid to promote shows to collect money for the needed, because from the donation money 75% goes to the actor and promoters, and the rest probably will reach the needed.

The disrespect shown by these players is tolerated because they have the right of freedom of speech . The president knew that these fanatics were attempting of going to the White House and cause a show demanding rights here and there. For this reason they weren't invited, yes, hell with them.

This remind me the sucker who after the acting in a theater, made a speech to the vice-president about the social and political situation in the US.

In order to understand the wrongdoing of this poor sucker, is necessary to know that most of the acting business receive Federal funds to be up and don't be in bankruptcy. But, like with religious entities, these acting business can't talk politics in their theaters, otherwise the funds will be stop for them.

Sadly, Liberals find the way to brainwash the minds of people with weak intelligence who are very good players but usually lack of intellect and reasoning, and are easy prey to be used as demonstrators against the Trump's administration.

I will tell you this, you are Black, White, Latino, Chinese, whatever, and a police officer stops you for some reason, you must respect his authority and do whatever he tells you to do.

If you resist you will receive physical punishment until you concede. It will be painful for you.

The judge will be on the police side, because even if having that the police officer was wrong, you should obey and make your complaint later.

But, it happens that you are a poor idiot who thinks that you can disrespect the authority, and the punishment and pain you have experienced by being a rebel is great, I love it, you deserve it, you have learned the hard way, so next time, if you don't want to be in the news as another "victim" of police abuse, then simply obey and let the authority to fulfill his job.

It looks like hundreds of men will kneel or sit tomorrow during the national anthem.

What took them so long?

Kaepernick was hanging out there alone for a long time.

@cameronleon,
There are many many many many many athletes who regularly give much of their time and money to charities. The list would be way too long to put on this thread. This has been occurring for many many many years.

Colin Kaepernick continues to help the kids of Camp Taylor
Jun 23, 2013
Quote:
Professional athletes do all sorts of work with various charities, but sometimes it is as much just for show as anything else. 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is involved with a place called Camp Taylor, which is a camp set up for kids with heart defects. The camp founders had a child with a heart defect who struggled at times, feeling different from other kids. The camp provides a chance for these kids to meet others like them.

Kap got involved with the charity because of his own adopted family's background. The Modesto Bee put together an article yesterday on how Kap got involved. The Kaepernicks had two infant boys die because of heart defects. When Colin was drafted, and got a check for something (I'm guessing some early endorsement or trading card payment), he told his parents he wanted to "donate this check somewhere where it'll help kids with heart defects."

He donated the money, but he has gone further, becoming an active part of the camp. He has an annual golf tournament to raise money for them (it is tomorrow, thus the timing of the Bee article), but he also does much more with the kids. The Camp Taylor twitter account has tweeted out a variety of pictures of Kap with the kids at the camp, and also outside Candlestick Park. I thought I would embed some of those tweets below.

If you want to donate to Camp Taylor, at the official website, click on "Ways to Help". They have specific needs beyond just cash donations.

US bombers have flown close to North Korea's east coast to demonstrate the military options available to defeat any threat, the Pentagon has said.
It said the flight was the farthest north of the demilitarised zone between the Koreas that any US fighter jet or bomber had flown in the 21st Century.
Tensions have risen recently over Pyongyang's nuclear programme.
At the UN, North Korea's foreign minister said US President Donald Trump was on a "suicide mission".

It's okay Lash. These kids are so used to blowing hot air up eachother's kyhber passes, they don't know what to make of someone with more than two functioning synapses.

90% of the interesting members of this page have left, rather than deal with the half a dozen sycophants who think they control these edifices.

They may all kneel tomorrow. An incredible repudiation of Trump.

Meanwhile, Trump is sending out serious threats to blow up countries and kill people.

Does this actually violate our speech laws?

But it's ok whatever trump does, because for one thing Hillary would've been worse, right?
And also, trumps horrible presidency might be the wake up call that makes people listen and get moving, right?
And anyway everyone who wasn't for Bernie or bust deserves whatever crap comes out of a trump presidency, right?
Do I have that about right, Lash?

@snood,
You're so much like a petulant kid.

Hillary Clinton practically promised to escalate us to boots on the ground in Syria. She's more hawkish than Trump, more neocon than Bush. She was just better at hiding it with more acceptable language, although she did enjoy bringing young black men to heel, those little super-predators.

She sucked as a candidate and as a leader.

You and that narcissistic gasbag need to stop trying to relitigate what is done, and respond to what is. You know, there is another election in the future--something democrats have a chance to do something about.

If your party doesn't do something about what the hell you mean to voters, you'll lose again! Believe it.

@snood,
Btw, Trump's presidency HAS gotten people up and moving. Haven't you noticed?

Your democrat party is all lining up behind Bernie Sanders, finally backing single payer. They said it was impossible before. Pay attention!!

And the neoliberal democrats will adapt or die. Their funding is almost non-existent. They will go left or become a footnote in history.
