Good question, but as blatham wrote it, you should ask it of him.

@layman,
Back in July, Antifa demanded, on their website, that Charlottesville drop all charges against 23 of it's members who were arrested.

The white-hating black supremicist vice-mayor, Wes Bellamy, then posted that he was "working on it."

Perhaps read the post again. It's a tentative inference based on Lash's behavior (over many years) and knowledge of how such operations, where they are done, are done. She matches the pattern very closely. As I said, I might have this wrong but the more elegant explanation is that I have it right.

@wmwcjr,
Interestingly, many of the Trumpties view the alt-right, the Aryan Nation, and the Klan as merely "History buffs" and some kinds of passive social clubs. They are not organized to "celebrate their heritage" as they say, they are there to return us to the pre-civil rights time.

Greg Sargent gets this exactly right.
Quote:
Why is Trump reluctant to condemn white terrorism? It’s his racism — and his megalomania.

...The New York Times reports that a wide range of Trump’s advisers privately urged him to call out the white nationalists directly, but he kept steering the conversation back to a breakdown of “law and order.” We’ve seen this refusal to give into pressure to condemn racism before. Trump dragged his feet before disavowing David Duke’s support. And Joshua Green’s new book on Trump strategist Stephen K. Bannon reports that in August 2016, as Hillary Clinton elevated the issue of white nationalism to national prominence with a major speech, the Trump campaign internally decided not to go too far in renouncing it. Bannon told Green: “We polled the race stuff and it didn’t matter.”

The message that Trump surely received — one he surely continues to believe — is that there is no reason for him to capitulate to politically correct demands that he explicitly condemn racism towards any minorities. But this raises a profound problem. It is likely that Trump views this whole affair as being all about him — that is, as all about whether he will surrender to his foes. He seems incapable of grasping that amid such crises, his office carries with it certain very grave responsibilities to the American people.

I have the same question about A2K allowing racist/white supremacist/alt-right posters to continue to post here - as well as people who respond to/quote them. Ignore/thumb down if necessary. Respond? I've decided they don't deserve the attention/respect.

@blatham,
I don't even think it's that complicated. I think he is sympathetic to the alt-right and doesn't want to lose their support. Yeah, he's probably paranoid and megalo too, but he's a sniveling coward afraid of losing the alt-right support just like he's afraid of offending omrade Putin.

For God's sake, Nazis killed a woman on national tv, and this POS won't come out strongly against Nazis.

It is nothing more than an ad hom, the cheapest form of 'argument' when you are unable to refute the substance of a legitimate argument.

The 'side' the Canadian has chosen to champion, the American Democrat party, is as corrupt as the party he spends a great percentage of his waking hours attacking.

I'm sure news about the Democrats' corruption and losses keeps him awake nights, and since I'm working overtime bringing awareness to the corruption of his sacred cows, I'm a bit of a thorn in his otherwise happy Canadian backside.

Thanks to the ignore feature, he can get through some stretches of time feeling like the righteous town crier, sharing the one-sided story of American politics as he thinks it should be told.

But I'm there and he knows it. Since he cannot face facts about the Dems' corruption or answer to it, and has chosen to ignore it when he can, and when he can't, he must come up with some explanation his ego and life's beliefs can tolerate.

Ad hom.

He can't handle the truth. Both parties are corrupted by money.

@snood,
Clearly, he, Bannon, Miller and perhaps others are playing to the alt-right crowd. There's no secret in this as Bannon has admitted it. But Trump has that other characteristic, manifested constantly, of never backing down publicly or apologized or admitting he was wrong. It is a fundamental characteristic of a psychopath and bully.

Do you think he even acknowledges to HIMSELF when he's wrong? I wonder. It would take a really special kind of sick minded person to truly believe he is infallible..

@blatham,
This whole narrative is stupid.

Trump clearly denounced ALL hatred, bigotry, and violence.

The cheese-eaters jumped on him for not "singling out" the KKK.

For them the ONLY group at fault, and to blamed, is the KKK, and NOT their homeboys, and the provocateurs of all the strife, Antifa. They insist that Trump affirm their lies.

He aint gunna do that, sorry, cheese-eaters

To hear them tell it, Antifa was just sitting in the grass, peacefully and passively singing spirituals to block out the verbal harassment coming from the demonstrators, when they were rushed and beaten with clubs.

I don't think so! Homey don't play dat.

Nice try, cheese-eaters.

The supreme irony about freedom is that it applies equally to those who don't agree with you. Intolerance comes in many forms but they are all equally ugly and reprehensible.

Trump lashes out at black CEO who quits council
Quote:
One of America's most prominent black CEOs quit President Trump's manufacturing council on Monday over Trump's failure to condemn white supremacists Kenneth Frazier of Merck said in a statement: "America's leaders must honor our fundamental values by clearly rejecting expressions of hatred, bigotry and group supremacy."

Within minutes, Trump attacked him on Twitter, saying Frazier's resignation will give him "more time to LOWER RIPOFF DRUG PRICES!"

Frazier did not mention the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, in his statement, but he did say that "as a matter of personal conscience, I feel a responsibility to take a stand against intolerance and extremism."

That appeared to be a reference to Trump's statement over the weekend blaming violence "on many sides" after neo-Nazis and white nationalists clashed with counter-protesters.

Frazier is one of the country's most prominent black corporate executives and was the only black male CEO named to the council in January

Being intolerant of bigots is equally as reprehensible as the intolerance by bigots?
