Not really. No genuine intellectual curiosity, but does like to play the "go fetch" game.

I hope you release this book under a suitable pen name. Perhaps: Ima Groper.

Respectfully Debby law, you are a coward and a bigot.

If you were to be intellectually honest with yourself for just once would you find anything wrong with the way you used the word "Respectfully" in your above quote?

@georgeob1,
FWIW, regarding your suggestion that Layman might perhaps have been banned "because of his frequent use of the phrase "cheese eaters"', I did already observe before that he called people a lot worse. It's just that the really bad stuff was 'disappeared', maybe before you got to see it.

@reasoning logic,
I was using it to mock her, and I sincerely meant the rest of what I said on that post. There is no reason for me to repeat it again.

The second statement a compliment she couldn't hear because she ignorantly placed me on ignore. Symbolism, if you will.

Why use words related to ethics to support mockery?

@reasoning logic,
Couldn't tell you. I was pissed. My logic wasn't reasonable.

The lady met the definition of those words, but I think I was using mockery to support the words, not vice versa. Either way "respectfully" probably didn't need to be used.

Quite often we all say things that we later think could be better explained differently.
What I find often is that many of us stereotype republicans and democrats as if they are all alike and share all the same views. I myself may be seen as a utopian dreamer or progressive but I share a large majority of views as a close republican who happens to be my mother.

I personally think I may be similar to many other people.

As some of you likely recognize, I think that for America these are tragic times.

We need a Greek Chorus to monitor these sad events and tell the story. I've taken the liberty of naming the members of this Chorus. They are:

Robin Williams
Hunter S. Thompson
Leonard Cohen
J J Cale
Katherine Hepburn.

@reasoning logic,
Well, to be clear, I meant both names as seen in the dictionary. If you went back and looked at the conversation, I think you would see my thought process.

"What I find often is that many of us stereotype republicans and democrats as if they are all alike and share all the same views."

I think the problem here is that there is more than Democrat or Republican. Everybody who doesn't want a wasted vote is going to vote for the party CLOSEST to what they believe, however two parties do not cover the broader spectrum of what people actually think. Neither party has the flexibility to make decisions that suit everyone.

I am conservative, because I want less central government, and the thought of a government dictated society scares me. I also don't like a lot of left leaning activist groups. I don't like abortion. I also don't like HRC.

I don't LOVE Trump either. I don't like the wall idea at all (too expensive), I don't like his lies, I don't like his jerry springer like appeal to racist assholes and America's trash. (However, he needed the vote like HRC needed the social justice warrior types. I get what he was doing).

If there was a third party I thought had a chance, then I would have went with that. It was like choosing between eating a poop sandwich (HRC),
or a mystery meat sandwich (Donald Trump).

Vanity Fair Archives (1990), a long article to read but insightful of Trump's character. A few snippets:

Quote:

. . .

"Donald is a believer in the big-lie theory,” his lawyer had told me. “If you say something again and again, people will believe you."

. . .

On a rainy Thursday in July, I went down to federal court, where he was set to testify in a civil case in which he was a defendant. Along with his contractor, Trump had been accused of hiring scores of illegal Polish aliens to do the demolition work on the Trump Tower site. “The Polish brigade,” as they came to be called, had been astonishingly exploited on the job, earning four dollars an hour for work that usually paid five times that.

. . .

I thought about the ten years since I had first met Donald Trump. It is fashionable now to say that he was a symbol of the crassness of the 1980s, but Trump became more than a vulgarian. Like Michael Milken, Trump appeared to believe that his money gave him a freedom to set the rules. No one stopped him. His exaggerations and baloney were reported, and people laughed.

. . .

When I got to the courtroom, Trump had gone. His lawyer, the venerable and well-connected Milton Gould, was smiling broadly, for he appeared to believe that he was wiping the floor with this case. Trump had said that he knew nothing about the demolitions, that his contractor had been “a disaster.” Yet one F.B.I. informant testified that he had warned Trump of the presence of the Polish brigade and had told him that if he didn’t get rid of them his casino license might not be granted.

I wandered down to the pressroom on the fifth floor to hear about Trump’s testimony. The reporters sounded weary; they had heard it all before. “Goddamn it,” one shouted at me, “we created him! We bought his bullshit! He was always a phony, and we filled our papers with him!”

I thought about the last questions Donald Trump had asked me the day before on the telephone. “How long is your article?” “Long,” I said. Trump seemed pleased. “Is it a cover?” he asked.

It's refreshing, especially after enduring 0bama's plans to weaken this country while giving nukes to enemies of the world.

Donald Trump will hire foreign workers to staff the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla., this winter — as he did last year.

Trump hired 69 workers through the same program last year.
