The question with conservatives and Trump is, and always has been, what level of degradation in principle and in honesty will they permit Trump to drag them and the nation down to.

“Mr. President,” Cavuto [at Fox News] said, “it’s not the fake news media that’s your problem, it’s you. It’s not just your tweeting, it’s your scapegoating, it’s your refusal to see that sometimes you’re the one who’s feeding your own beast.”

@layman,
Of course they are and particularly snood.

You know you can't win when you give me grief for sticking up for the majority of Muslims and these other clowns insist I'm an Islamaphobe.

@blatham,
Plenty of conservatives have criticized Trump when he deserves it. I guess you want them to march on the White House with pitchforks and torches.

Yes, many have, and I've quoted lots of such criticism from conservatives here. I don't recall a single instance where the person quoted was not dismissed as "establishment" or as a faux conservative or as insignificant. There might have been such instances but I don't recall a single case. As regards Fox, the proportion of support for Trump contrasted with criticism of him would be somewhere in the vicinity of 50 to 1 minutes of air time.

I also recently read that Sadiq Kahn wants to cancel any trip there to England by Trump

Not something the mayor can decide. It's inconceivable that the president of the US will be banned from coming to the UK. That's not going to happen. What is in doubt is the state visit with all the pomp, pageantry, gold coaches, meeting royalty and all the shiny shiny stuff that pathetic middle aged despots lap up. There have been calls for May to withdraw the offer of a state visit but she won't do that. Corbyn probably will cancel it, and announce how the money saved will be paying for x amount of extra nurses.

Obviously, not merely my standards but the standards of every conservative I've quoted.

@Finn dAbuzz,
I doubt it's religion based except for Trumps anti'muslim stands; I take it he doesn't like Trump because of Trumps' myriad behaviors, just like many of the rest of us, including americans.
I do see it as a possible mess to have him not come to England. I have to think about that more.

If they afforded Putin and Xi all the falderol why would they withold it from Trump?

It won't happen.

@blatham,
Other than perhaps Rubin or RINOS like Gershon, how many conservatives you've quoted think that Trump is the monster you do?

@ossobucotemp,
I suspect it may have something to do with his religion and taking personal affront to some of the things Trump has said, but it goes well beyond that.

He's a figure of the UK Left.

The London mayor only said he was against a state visit from Trump. Everyone knows he doesn't have the power to deny such a visit.

Trump aint no glib-ass, polished politician. Because of that, cheese-eaters like Blather sneer at him, just like Hillary did (and still does) with him and those who voted for him.

Like Hillary, Blather will never understand that's the reason WHY he was elected.

Ya talk about "dense," eh?

@Finn dAbuzz,
Kahn: "Terrorist attacks are just part and parcel of living in the city I preside over."

Well, he's right, of course, but only because he aint stopping it, and freely approves of, and affords, the conditions which permit terrorists to thrive there.

As the Mayor of London, and a muslim to boot, he certainly knows where the terrorist enclaves are there. Does he send the cops in to patrol them, infiltrate them, and clean that **** up?

Hell, no! The cops are prohibited from even going there. The cops are told that if they get beheaded in one of those neighborhoods, it will be their own damn fault for going there in the first place.

I know that, Izzy, that's why I called it porridge. There may be difficulties along the path.

Trump may cancel it himself. Only the Shadow knows (old radio program I listend to the two weeks I had Scarlet Fever).

If Trump wasn't your figure of the US right, you would be condemning all the incredibly stupid things he says and does.

Again, your stunning hypocrisy, Finn. But you aren't alone, there are many stunning hypocrites on the left too.
