What are the odds that those same guests think that "someone yelling out 'You Lie!' when Obama lies" is an unforgivable act of racism?

For that matter, how would they react to someone conducting a similar stunt with a fake Obama head?

I have no idea. But I consider it to have been more a mere breach of congressional decorum.

As long as it's a fake head I don't see any problem at all. Like burning a flag or spending millions to set up tax-exempt foundations to disseminate propaganda. What is it about "free speech" that bothers people so much?

Exactly! Don't these people realize that this is COMEDY? It's hilarious! Jeez....

But I think you might be wrong. It would be TWICE as funny if it was Trump's real head, not a fake one.

Especially if Putin put his dick in the mouth of the severed head, ya know? The laughter would NEVER stop then.

Cowards and bullies are very good at dishing it out, but wet their pants when any of it is directed towards them. Having a backbone is not really compatible with their lickspittle status.

Let the advertisers and their potential customers sort it out, but suggesting assassination isn't cool.

Authorities aren't too cool about nooses being placed on campuses.

One size should fit all re freedom of expression law and reaction.

Rodeo Clown Who Wore Obama Mask Receives Permanent Ban From Performing at State Fair

An unidentified rodeo clown who inspired a national controversy over the weekend by wearing a mask resembling President Barack Obama and asking the audience if they’d like to see him “run down by a bull” has received a permanent ban from performing at the Missouri State fair.

The fair said in a written statement announcing the rodeo clown’s ban that he had engaged in an “unconscionable stunt” that was “inappropriate and not in keeping with the Fair’s standards.”

I think the bloody head was in terrible taste and went too far in suggesting assassination of the president. Not sure of it legally, but, that is my take on it.

In other lighter news, what word do you think "covfefe" is?

Don't ya'll think it suggest Trump has some kind of mental problem that he is obsessing over the media with all the worries of the office a president he should be thinking about?

"I have a hard time bringing myself to care about something like this. I think it just speaks to the need to see themselves as the victim...that they, the Trump people, are constantly being persecuted."

Sounds like CNN, sho nuff.

This wouldn't even be a story on CNN if it was Hillary Clinton's head. They wouldn't care enough to even mention it.

I've been anxiously awaiting the hue and cry from the left over this act of violence. But, yours is the first post I've seen here. Hope Griffin is done with her career now. There should be no coming back from that.

@McGentrix,
You are probably right, which makes it more strange falling asleep with his finger still on the keys obsessing over the media...probably "coverage". I don't know, you think maybe NK shooting off missiles should occupy his thoughts at nights before going to sleep...?

More on Sinclair Broadcasting...

In 2015, Sinclair picked up the domain name and assets of a deceased web news aggregator named Circa. Last week, two writers working there wrote a story which contained falsehoods and misrepresentations. That story was then picked up by other right wing news outlets (including NewsBusters, PJ Media, the Federalist and Fox).

A fundamental element in this story was, predictably, this...
Quote:
Fox News correspondent James Rosen also pushed the mainstream-media blackout notion on the evening news program “Special Report with Bret Baier.” On Thursday, he credited Circa for being the first to obtain the documents related to the NSA story, and then said this about the amount of pickup the revelations have triggered: “The sheer scale of the Fourth Amendment violations disclosed is staggering as was the sternness of the rebuke to the Obama administration delivered by the FISA court which ordinarily approves 99.9 percent of the government’s request for surveillance,” said Rosen. “As of a few minutes ago, however, Bret, the story had not been covered on The Washington Post, New York Times, nor any of the three nightly news broadcasts on the three broadcast networks.”

Baier responded, “Amazing.”

But in fact, it was reporting by Charlie Savage at the NYT which broke the story and it was covered by the WP.

And that's definitely not all this Sinclair entity got wrong. Read this story because it is a very typical example of how right wing media functions. And it is an example of what Sinclair is up to. WP

Rich's parents condemned the conspiracy theorists and said that these individuals were exploiting their son's death for political gain, with their spokesperson calling them "sociopaths" and "disgusting". They requested a retraction and apology from Fox News, and sent a cease and desist letter to the investigator Fox News used. The investigator admitted he had no evidence to back up his claims, and Fox News issued a retraction.

I think so too. I'm not a big fan of Griffin, actually. It is proper and admirable for a humorist to push at boundaries of what is commonly held as "proper" or "sacred/profane" or at univestigated assumptions and cliches (as SJ Perlman said, "The office of humor is to offend") but there's always an inherent danger here in how far you go and in how you try to do it (consider the example of Michael Richard's tragic mistake in one night club act). Griffin, in my view, is too often graceless and crude.

Edit: just now saw a comment from Trump - "Kathy Griffin should be ashamed". To put things in perspective, Griffin's crude gag comes nowhere near the things Trump has said and done as regards shame-worthiness.

Um...just that he typo'd the word, fell asleep, and somehow hit the submit button while he was dropping the phone.

Thought that was clear.

Or maybe you want me to take a cue from how you may have handled it if Hillary did it.

"He obviously can't handle the stress of the job. He's over 70 for Christ's sake. He probably had a seizure and lost control of his bowels while simultaneously holding his finger over the nuclear launch button. Too weak for the job!!!" --- is that what you're looking for?
