always thanks pan....
just the pic is too small to see clearly...
What's that?
oops...a car after an accident...mangled
I have understood it clearly
I looked up the word mangle iron, and can't get a good photo to link - but in my childhood, some time ago and far away, there was a contraption popular for a time, that had some kind of roller system to iron sheets coming out of the washing machine. My aunt had one.
Hah, probably worth a fortune on ebay now.
ossobuco : we had a mangle iron in our (that is my parent's) household. it sat in the laundry shed and i just loved putting the sheets through it. i wonder where it wound up, probably would fetch a good price in an antique sale. hbg
ok new questions:
Quote:Bush, by contrast, sometimes looked peeved and impatient in the split screen
from NEWSWEEK
firstly:
peeve, does it have something different with irritate or some other synonyms?
secondly:
split screen what's that?
so that means the different scenes of different sides in the campaign right?
like split screen at the debate
peeved means irritated...pretty much
