So they watched her write it down? That's not a good witness. If they weren't there to see the incident they are not witnesses.

These people are reporting that she told them contemporaneously. That means when it happened. I'm not a lawyer, but I think that's considered pretty strong testimony.

Did you ever see the movie "Body Heat", it was released 1981. Theres a great scene between Kathleen Turner and William Hurt where she says to him "you aren't too smart are you, I like that in a man". That has to be the best line ever delivered in a film. It not something I would say to many men, but it was great for the film.
