1) From July 6, 2016, a Snopes.com article:
LAWSUIT CHARGES DONALD TRUMP WITH RAPING A 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL
"A civil suit against Donald Trump alleging he raped a 13-year-old girl was dismissed in California in May 2016 and refiled in New York in June 2016"

@bobsal u1553115,
That's an order for a pretrial conference. Parties rarely attend those.
1:16-cv-04642 <--- look that up at PACER, not PACER Monitor, if you want details. See: https://ecf.nysd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/iquery.pl and run a query (yes, you need an account, and it's not free).

Then again: Cruz?????

I'd rather she'd run against tRump.

I hope Trump is charged with the crime, and spends time in prison: the day after Hilary wins the election.

@bobsal u1553115,
I wonder if Trump's narcissism will become filtered if he's charged and does spend time in prison.

@cicerone imposter,
It's a civil case. This is not a criminal assault matter. The standard of proof is lower. That's a part of why it's in federal court.

Another few days like the last seven and The Donald's heading for the door. But since he hates losers (and quitters are, if nothing else, losers by his evaluation), he'll need an excuse.

I hereby propose that we, at Democratic Underground, patriotically propose a series of excuses so that the Trumpster will be spared the time and trouble of making one up.

Donald Chump could make an announcement stating he has to withdraw his candidacy because his psychiatrist has declared him mentally insane. The funny thing is that he wouldn't have to a make up this excuse. He probably really is clinically insane.

True, it is a civil case. But, isn't it true that evidence that comes out during a civil case can be investigated by police and lead to a prosecution?

I don't know if the statute of limitations has lapsed on the criminal case with this particular woman, but what if Trump was involved in a ring of some sort and has had more recent incidents as a result of that? What was that young girl doing at the party that Trump was attending.

@Blickers,
Good question. From what we already know about Trump, the possibilities are endless. As a scam artist (Trump university), and walking out with money on his investments in Vegas while the other investors lost money, nothing about Trump is surprising.

@Blickers,
It's not impossible, but the proof standard is lower. Plus by it being brought in civil court, that's telling me either there was no probable cause to arrest in a criminal matter, or a criminal matter was bargained down.

It's in federal court which is really weird. Hence there is either diversity jurisdiction (parties are in two separate states, plus the amount in controversy hits a predefined minimum), or it's a federal question of law. If it's that, then this might be a civil rights case. Which is a far, far cry from a rape case.

It's not necessarily nothing (say that five times fast), but it's well-removed from a criminal prosecution of any sort.
