Well, GWB has shown an adeptness at "Blitzkrieg" ... it will be a challenge for his political opponents, globally and on the domestic front, to defend against the tactic. One of the key tenets of the practice is momentum, which he seems in no danger of relenquishing. The Son appears to have learned from The Father's Failings, in that regard. Just imagine how formidable he will be if peace erupts in The Middle East, North Korea acceeds to diplomacy, and the Global and Domestic Economies strengthen. By golly, if things do get better, Bush the Younger's foes will be unhappy indeed.
timber, You know as well as the majority that hate can turn to love very quickly (as well as the reverse).

If he coud he sure would get my vote in 04
Any miracle workers around?

c.i.
I guess that all depends on what one might consider a miracle, CI.
A "miracle" is any event that seems to transcend the laws of nature (or politics and economics in this case).

More on the connection between Clear Channel Communications and Dubya:
Quote:What is clear about Clear Channel is that it can't be disentangled from Bush's personal fortune or his public policy. The merger of government and business in the current administration goes far beyond the workings of any previous president.
As Michael Lind, author of Made in Texas said -- Bush, a failed businessman and mediocre student, excels at one thing: the practice of corporate cronyism. In the ideal world of corporate cronyism, a tight knit group of businessmen and government officials operate as one seamless entity of mutually beneficial economic forces. It's a plutocratic version of socialism, where the state and the privileged business compadres of those running the government march lockstep together to achieve corporate welfare goals, funded by the taxpayer. It's an economic system where access to the marketplace is limited to a close knit group of cronies and campaign contributors. It has as much in common with a truly free market system as Communism.
In the case of Clear Channel, the "Support Our Troops" rally was an extension of the Karl Rove strategy to force peace advocates to appear to be opposing our troops by not supporting the Iraq war. Furthermore, since the support for the war was lukewarm, Rove knew that the rallies had to be packaged as gatherings to show backing for the young men and women who would do the fighting. Clear Channel fulfilled this strategy, although the numbers attending their thinly veiled pro-war rallies paled in comparison to the hundreds of thousands who attended peace marches and events.
In many ways, Clear Channel has become the radio version of Fox News: You can find virtually nothing in its musical playlist or agenda that is not consistent with the Bush Cartel public relations agenda.
With increased deregulation, the mutual financial benefits that the Bush Cartel and the owners of Clear Channel have enjoyed will just be another representation of the growing cancer of corporate socialist cronyism, in which the crony media barons use their stations and papers to advance the political agenda of the Bush administration -- and contribute to Republican coffers. In turn, the Bush Cartel takes steps -- such as increased deregulation -- that enable increased profitability among the Bush Cartel media cronies.
Of course, if you are not a crony, it's not really socialism for you.
No, if you are not a crony, it's using the government for highway robbery -- by making such robbery legal.
Crystal Clear: Clear Channel is a Subsidiary of Bush, Inc.
PDiddie, you should've bought stock in Clear Channel about eight years ago. You'd be so happy you might even be a Republican.
J/k....
Cjhsa -- Amazingly enough, not all of us base our self-esteem and satisfaction on money. That's one of the reasons we're not Republicans!

That is what people say when they don't have any. We don't want the filthy lucre.
Aw shucks, Au, I'd love to win the lottery -- but it wouldn't make me a Republican! At the moment I'd call myself dang lucky, if somewhat worried by Bush's ability to put large nation in serious debt in fewer than eighteen months after a pretty remarkable period of prosperity and a substantial budget surplus. Pretty soon even the Republicans will notice...

If my hitting the lotto was contingent upon becoming a republican, my first question would be where do I sign up.
It would be no problem for me since I always vote my conscience not my party.

How do you explain all the dirt poor white southerners who've joined up?
Wow, snood, what do you think poor white southerners think they have to join the the GOP? c.i.
Hmmm... I dunno - maybe they're hoping supply-side economics will be their "ship coming in"?
what could it be....
Snood
Are you asking why the once democratic south went republican? If so I can only use that dreaded word racism.

duh. I'm sure someone noticed I was being facetious. Of course I think it has something to do with racism, although on how that dreaded "ism" plays into the voters' loyalties, I'm not sure we would agree.
I think the Repubs have been tapping into the least common denominator racial fears of southern whites, what say the rest of you?
au, That's a funny interpretation of "racism." It sure the heck isn't reverse discrimination! c.i.
I say the religious right has a lot to do with brainwashing the masses into accepting the Republicans as their saviour.
The tax-cutting, flag-waving, tough-talking Ronald Reagan swung many Moron-Americans left to right in the Eighties.
Clinton's sexual escapades cemented the Holy Rollers to the starboard side.
And unless the economy turns very sour, many of them will stay where they are.
