timber, Do you ever read what I write? I'll repeat:
"They are also at risk for their lives, and attending some political rally in the middle of a war zone is not too smart."

I read what you wrote ... did you read what I wrote?

There isn't much nightlife in Kabul, of course, but what there is ... a few better restaurants, some semi-private clubs, a couple of discos, is eagerly enjoyed by military folks in civilian garb.

Entertainment being as tough to come by there, an opportunity for same is not to be wasted. It was a party, with food, beverages, and entertainment ... and it was held at a popular upscale restaurant well inside the "Controlled Area" of Kabul,, further protected by armed security. Attending in civilian dress would have placed no one in any more danger than going to any other party in a relatively secure restaurant ... and military folks regularly attend, and even throw, parties in the few such venues available. Its about all there is to take one's mind off the more unpleasant, and far more typical, day-to-day tribulations of being there.

Come on, timber, you're an intelligent guy. What do you think young men prefer to do between a political rally and entertainment whether in Afghanistan or in the states? You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

Bad Voting Habits
Bush in a not-shell.

by Alan Bisbort - June 24, 2004

I am working up the courage to ask my brother-in-law why he will vote (again) for George W. Bush this November. My brother-in-law is a G-man, one of the most upstanding, outstanding and clean-living people I know. He is filled with integrity and driven to do right in a world gone wrong. He works hard, doesn't complain about pain (from which he suffers constantly due to a back ailment), puts his ass on the line every day he reports to work, loves his family intensely, and admires his older sister (my wife) with a quiet pride that is touching beyond words.

And so, I have often found myself wondering what he finds appealing about George W. Bush, the antithesis of all the things he has devoted his life to battling, a man who even cut the funds for his own G-Man office to reward his fabulously wealthy campaign donors. Or about Rush Limbaugh, to whom he not only listens on the radio but to whose publication ( The Limbaugh Letter ) he subscribes. That would be Rush Limbaugh, drug addict, pathological liar and laugher-at-torture.

Maybe the more appropriate question I should ask my brother-in-law is: What has GWB accomplished to warrant your rewarding your vote to him for a second term?

My guess is that my brother-in-law would start by saying, "Well, he is not a liberal." And that would be true enough. George W. Bush is not a liberal. And I am not a pedophile, but that does not qualify me for the priesthood. Nor am I a crook or a crack addict, but that doesn't qualify me to be a G-man.

Then, he would say, "And he is not a member of either the Clinton or Kennedy families." End of discussion.

Maybe these "negatives" explain why otherwise rational people would consider voting (again) to hand our nation's most crucial job at a time when we're facing our gravest dangers to a man who hears voices from God, taunts his enemies, thumbs his nose at the rest of the world, lies to the United Nations, the Congress and the American people and finds adolescent humor in all this.

Indeed, the only things GWB has going for him are negatives. He is not a liberal. Not a woman. Not black. Not any persuasion, really, other than Connecticut WASP. Not gay (although Betty Bowers offers a "fabulous" assessment of that possibility at her hilarious Web site: www.bettybowers.com ). Not a vegetarian, not a tree hugger, not even as smart as Billy Carter. Not, not, not: GWBush in a not-shell. He is simply "not" and nothing else can be said for him.

So, when did we stop demanding that our elected leaders have a positive vision? And I don't mean ridiculous things like, as one poll determined, Bush being "the guy you'd most want to have a beer with."

As far as I can see -- and, yes, I'm capable of seeing some "positives" in Republicans like Eisenhower, McCain, even Nixon -- there is nothing positive about the incumbent. He is inarticulate, petty, small-minded, bitter, inattentive, incurious, lazy, vindictive, rash, irresponsible with our money and our children's lives, deceitful if not pathologically truth-challenged, cowardly in the face of physical danger. And, as far as I can tell, his "vision" resembles the final pages of the Bible, an Apocalypse toward which he is dragging the rest of us who are not enraptured with his delusional prophecies.

And, likewise, there is little positive about the upcoming election that I can see. It will be ugly, deceitful, brutish, slimy, nauseating, vision-less, storebought, propaganda-driven, small-minded, mawkish. It will be an extension of the Reagan Funeral Mythologizing, featuring the tired old saws of Gay-Baiting, Fetus-Flogging, Class and Holy Wars, Flag-Waving, and Gun-Toting.

Because historian Theodore Sorenson's recent New School commencement speech stated the case so unsurpassably, I quote from it here: "This is not a speech. This is a cry from the heart, a lamentation for the loss of this country's goodness and therefore its greatness. Future historians studying the decline and fall of America will mark this time as the time the tide began to turn -- toward a mean-spirited mediocrity in place of a noble beacon ... . 'There is a time to laugh,' the Bible tells us, 'and a time to weep.' Today I weep for the country to which my four grandparents sailed over a century ago with hopes for a new land of peace and freedom. I cannot remain silent when that country is in the deepest trouble of my lifetime."

The deep political divides that exist in this country right now, and the fear and loathing that wafts out of Washington, D.C. to stoke this mean-spirited malaise, may make it impossible for Americans to be fully honest with themselves. Because if American voters were honest with themselves, they'd have to admit that, just this one time, the incumbent's miserable failings do not warrant turning to the Republican Party out of habit this November.

Cheney Pays Visit to Stadium
By TYLER KEPNER

Published: June 30, 2004

Vice President Dick Cheney spent about 20 minutes in Manager Joe Torre's office and in the clubhouse shaking hands with players before the Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox, 11-3, last night at Yankee Stadium.

Cheney studied the photographs inside and outside Torre's office and asked Yogi Berra, the Hall of Fame catcher, why he was playing the outfield in one picture.

During the singing of "God Bless America" in the seventh inning, an image of Cheney was shown on the scoreboard. It was greeted with booing, so the Yankees quickly removed the image.

Quote from above, "It was greeted with booing, so the Yankees quickly removed the image." Cheney probably used some expletives to make his feeling known - to make him "feel good."

Kerry Resume for President

JOHN FORBES KERRY, "MAN OF THE PEOPLE"

CAREER OBJECTIVE

President of the United States, Renter of the Lincoln bedroom, Intern Supervisor, Commander and Chief and Defender of the Working Man, I mean Person

EDUCATION

Educated at Swiss Boarding Schools -- because my parents did not like me that much

Attended elite private schools like Fessenden School in West Newton, Massachusetts and St. Paul's in New Hampshire -- just like your kids

Graduated Yale University, 1966 (I am much smarter than that Bush guy -- oh, wait, he also went to Yale.)

Graduated Boston College Law School in 1976 (I am much smarter than that Bush guy -- oh, wait, he got an MBA from Harvard.)

VIETNAM MILITARY SERVICE

Served as an officer on a swiftboat in the Mekong Delta in VIETNAM for three long months -- tried my best to come home a hero like JFK after his service on PT-109. I was in VIETNAM -- VIETNAM was a place where I was for a while. Did I mention that VIETNAM veterans love me?

I collected three Purple Hearts in my three months (had to get three in order to come home and run for Congress as a hero like JFK) and the last one for that scratch on my finger -- it REALLY did hurt! It was important to have the right connections so I could get home and run for Congress on my hero status like JFK -- he was not in VIETNAM, but I was.

Brought my own motion camera to make sure images of me in VIETNAM becoming a hero made it back home to the states. Got a free trip home after three months on my swiftboat where I suffered severe injuries and collected three Purple Hearts (did I mention that), a Bronze and Silver Star for heroism -- ensuring my destiny as a hero and man of the people like JFK.

Got home and found out they were not bestowing hero status on war heroes like me, so I threw my medals, or was it my ribbons, over the White House fence. Maybe it was someone else's medals.

Co-founder of the VIETNAM Veterans of America and spokesperson for the VIETNAM Veterans Against the War and worked closely with Jane Fonda to make sure everyone knew that all the guys in VIETNAM were war criminals -- I was too, and even testified before the Senate about my own war crimes.

"Represented" my cadre of anti-American misfits in a Paris meeting to discuss how we could better provide "aid and comfort" for the North Vietnamese and to discuss the unconditional surrender of the U.S. In doing so, I knowingly, directly violated UCMJ Article 104 part 904, and U.S. Code 18 U.S.C. 953.

Did I mention that this meeting, and my other anti-American activities, also put me in violation of the Constitution's Article three, Section three, which defines treason as "giving aid and comfort" to the enemy in time of warfare.

Consequently, I stand subject to the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, which states, "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President...having previously taken an oath...to support the Constitution of the United States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

But I don't have to resign -- I am understudy to Teddy Kennedy, now the patriarch of JFK's family.

I topped off my coddling of Commies by authoring a book called The New Soldier -- but since military heroes are back in vogue, I now sue anyone who reproduces the cover of that book on any website, especially a website like EDIT (timber): Link Removed (The cover picture is a mockery of the Iwo Jima flag raising -- you can see it at EDIT (timber): Link Removed until my lawyers get them to take it down.)

NOTE: Please join fellow Patriots and sign the petition demanding John Kerry's resignation. Link to -- EDIT (timber): Link Removed

CONGRESSIONAL "SERVICE"

Volunteered as a campaign worker for my mentor, Teddy Kennedy in 1962. I just love that big lug!

My first campaign for Congress was in 1972 -- I was a war hero like JFK but nobody noticed so I ran on my anti-American platform. I won the primary with a little help from my campaign manager (brother Cameron) who broke into my opponents campaign headquarters. Unfortunately, because of that Watergate thing, I lost the general election to a Republican even after spending more than any other Congressional campaign in the nation.

In 1982, with the help of Uncle Teddy, I got elected as lieutenant governor for governor Michael Dukakis -- then got elected to the Senate in 1984 -- it has been smooth sailing ever since. I have dedicated the last 20 years, between wives and vacation homes, promoting big government spending (except in defense and intelligence, which I vote against every chance I get), class warfare, the welfare state and general wealth redistribution, any kind of abortion on demand (without parental consent for minors), and obstructionist tactics in the judicial nominee process.

According to Americans for Democratic [sic] Action, a far-left watchdog group, I have a higher lifetime liberal voting record at 93% than Ted Kennedy with 88%

I am the ranking Democrat member of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship. My current millionaire wife is heiress of the Heinz Ketchup fortune -- a "small" business

Ranking member of the Hispanic Task Force, even though I "borked" Miguel Estrada

Chaired the Senate Democratic Leadership Steering and Coordination Committee

In 1987, teemed up with Teddy to get an override of presidential veto of Boston's Big Dig Boondoggle -- one of the most larded distributions of taxpayer largess in U.S. history.

In 1991 the Senate created the Select Senate Committee on POW/MIA Affairs to investigate the possibility that U.S. prisoners of war and soldiers designated missing in action were still alive in Vietnam. Acting as chairman, I helped persuade the group to vote unanimously that no American servicemen still remained in Vietnam. In doing so, I helped begin the process of normalizing U.S.-Vietnamese relations.

Wealthiest senator ("man of the people"), with an estimated net worth of nearly $200 million (that's $800 million if you combine it with my current wife's assets)

POLITICAL POSTURING AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

George W. Bush's Resume

by Kelley Kramer

I recently had an email exchange with a right-winger from my local newspaper, and of course the war with Iraq came up pretty quick. But he said something in defense of George Bush that really surprised me. In defense of the attack on Iraq he said 'between Hussein and Bush, Hussein is the bad guy'.

My first response was ... So your guy is better than a third world dictator, Wow! what an accomplishment! Does he put that on his resume?

And with that in mind, I started wondering ... what would a George W. Bush resume look like exactly?

Listed below is what I came up with,

Best!

Kelley Kramer

Too easy, c.i. ... childs play, in fact.

From an academic blog:
A highschool student named Jeff wrote:
Rebuttal to Bogus Bush Resume

Have you ever heard the phrase, "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor? If you believed that cleverly written slander you owe it to yourself to read this. You may also consider sending this rebuttal to the person that sent you the bogus Bush Resume and anyone else with whom you may have shared it. Let's examine the claims one by one.

I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Everyone knows about this, and did prior to voting in 2000. It was conveniently plastered all over the news just days prior to the 2000 election. Was that politically timed? Of course, and surely it cost Bush votes but most people saw it for what it was, an irrelevant cheap shot. It's approaching 20 years since Bush has had a problem with drinking.

I graduated from Yale University with a low C average.

Bush graduated from Yale and Harvard. Earning an MBA at Harvard. An achievement not accomplished by any other U.S. President.

By the way, if you require good college grades from your President you couldn't have voted for Al Gore. The Washington Post checked both their transcripts. The Post reports ``Gore's grades were lower than any semester recorded on Bush's transcript from Yale. Gore received one D, one c-minus, two C's, two C-pluses and one B-minus, placing him in the lower fifth of the class for a second consecutive year.

Gore's undergraduate transcript from Harvard is riddled with C's and D's, including a C-minus in introductory economics, a D in one science course, and a C-plus in another. "In his sophomore year at Harvard," the Post reported, "Gore's grades were lower than any semester recorded on Bush's transcript from Yale."

Additionally, Gore's graduate school record (ignored by the press) is disgraceful. In 1971, Gore enrolled in Vanderbilt Divinity School, where according to Bill Turque, (author of Inventing Al Gore), Gore received F's in five of the eight classes he took over the course of three semesters. Less than 3 courses per semester, that's an incredibly light load, and he flunked most of them. Gore obviously did not receive a degree from the divinity school. Nor did Gore graduate from Vanderbilt Law School, where he enrolled and received his fair share of C's. Bush, having earned a Harvard MBA, is an honor student by comparison.

I joined the Air National Guard and went AWOL

Democrat Party Chairman, Terry McAuliffe made this false accusation and it continues to be spread by democrat party loyalists. Some are just naïve and unsuspecting pawns but many know it is a lie and spread it anyway hoping voters will believe it. Had Bush been AWOL it would be documented. It's not. What does it say about a Political Party whose chairman makes such false statements? Particularly when the man that he is most loyal to, Bill Clinton, made sure he wouldn't serve in the military at all. Clinton said he loathed the military. And what does it say about a presidential nominee, John Kerry, that helps spread such slander by his comments about it and then disparages National Guard duty by classifying it with other choices like going to Canada to dodge the draft. This after Kerry made the following statement (supporting Bill Clinton) on the floor of the US Senate. We do not need to divide America over who served and how." -John Kerry, Feb. 27, 1992. If dividing America over Vietnam was wrong in 1992 it is wrong now.

By the way, Terry McAuliffe is the guy who made $18 million in 18 months on a $100,000 investment in Global Crossing, an astronomical 18,000% profit. How did your portfolio do that year? Do you really think he empathizes with the poor and disadvantaged? According to the NY Times, McAuliffe made millions more trading the stock and options after it went public in 1998. Global Crossing employees and remaining stockholders met the same fate as Enron's. McAuliffe has much in common with the villains at Enron.

According to the press reports, McAuliffe also did political work for Global Crossing CEO Gary Winnick, working out of an office in downtown Washington owned by Winnick. On one occasion, McAuliffe set up a golf outing for Winnick and then-President Clinton. Winnick would later give a million dollars to Clinton's presidential library. Did he and Global Crossing receive in return?

Shortly after Winnick's generous contribution to Clinton's legacy building library, Global Crossing was awarded a $400 million contract by the Pentagon.

While Enron gave to both republicans AND democrats, Global Crossing's leanings were totally Democrat. The company was the fifth largest corporate donor to the Democrat Party during the 2000 election cycle, but moved into first place in 2002. Global donated more than $350,000 to the Democrats for the 2002 campaign, and none to the GOP. Winnick also, through Pacific Capital Group, donated all of his 2000 campaign budget of $250,000 to the Democratic Party, and none to the GOP.

Global Crossing reportedly sponsored a fundraising dinner for Senate Majority Leader and Democrat Tom Daschle. Since then Global Crossing went down as the 4th largest bankruptcy in US history, but not before the DNC Chairman, the man who falsely claims George Bush was AWOL got his $18,000,000.00

So did Abe Lincoln, another Republican who eventually became President and successfully lead a war of liberation. Abe freed the slaves in the US and Bush liberated 25 million oppressed people in Iraq from a dictator responsible for the deaths of over a million people and ending the brutal torture of it's citizens and the rape of it's women for the pleasure of his sons and brutal supporters. He also liberated Afghanistan. George Bush has done more to bring freedom to more women than any president in recent history. Ironically, however, the feminist organizations hate him. They prefer his immediate predecessor who according to Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey, and Juanita Broddrick had little regard for women other than to serve his selfish interests. They accused him of sexual harassment, sexual assault and even rape.

With my father's help (and his name) was elected Governor of Texas.

When did getting help from a father become a sin? If this is a disqualifier for you, again, you couldn't have voted for Al Gore. He got plenty of help and a name from his father, Senator Albert Gore Sr. Is the author bothered by the help Kerry gets from his wife who inherited $700 million from her late husband? Kerry lives quite nicely on a dead man's money. Do you really think he is making the mortgage payment on his recent $5million mortgage (on one of his (her) multi-million dollar homes) on his Senate salary? She, by the way, is his second filthy rich wife. Talk about getting something without working for it. Do you think he feels the pain of the average American? John Edwards talks about 2 Americas, One for the rich and one for the rest of us. Kerry and Edwards both have numerous multimillion dollar homes(Kerry has 5 worth $25-$30 million). In which America do you think Kerry and Edwards live? Do you ever wonder what they say about the rest of us when they are off camera and lounging around their luxurious homes?

I changed pollution laws for power and oil companies and made Texas the most polluted state in the Union.

Cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas government to the tune of billions in borrowed money.

Bush cut taxes after the state accumulated, during his administration, a 1.1 billion dollar surplus. He left Texas in excellent fiscal shape, particularly compared to California, which had been run by Democrats for more than a decade. That is until, by state constitution, they finally fired Grey Davis in a recall. It is worth noting that left wing judges on the 9th Circuit Court initially denied the people of California their constitutional right to recall their governor. These judges were overturned.

Set record for most executions by any Governor in American history.

On what court and in what cases did Bush preside as Judge or serve as a member of a jury that sentenced anyone to the death penalty? Anyone with genuine integrity would not bring this up as an issue against Bush as Al Gore and Bill Clinton are both proponents of the death penalty. Bill Clinton, while running with Gore for the presidency in 92, rushed home to Arkansas so he could be there when his state executed Ricky Rector, a mentally disabled black man. Clinton wanted to make sure voters knew he was tough on crime.

The law and sentencing guidelines produce the high numbers in Texas. The Board of Pardons has the power of clemency and is required to make a recommendation of commutation before the governor can grant clemency. Out of 152 executions, Bush had only three recommendations presented to him by this board.

In 1992, when Democrat Anne Richards was governor, the number of executions in Texas jumped dramatically. Where was the out cry from democrats then. In 1995, the Texas legislature passed a law requiring certain death-row appeals to be filed concurrently. The short-term effect was that executions virtually stopped while it was being appealed. From March 1996 to January 1997, there was only one execution in the state. However, after the law withstood legal challenge, executions resumed at double their old pace.

I became president after losing the popular vote by 500,000 votes, with the help of my father¹s appointments to the Supreme Court.

The resume author is ignorant or hopes his readers are, regarding the electoral vote. Presidents are not elected by popular vote. The candidate that wins the popular vote of a state wins all the electoral votes. It's been that way for a long time. Candidates campaign for states not votes. Do Al Gore and the Democrats think the rules should be changed after the fact, for their benefit? That's like a football player claiming his team won a game because his gained more yards when the opponent scored more points. Grow up and stop sulking over this.
Regarding his fathers Supreme Court appointments - nice try but another blatant distortion of truth. Clinton/Gore made as many appointments to the Supreme court as Bush's father. Do the names Ruth Ginsberg and Steven Breyer ring a bell? Also, there were 2 separate decisions. One was 7-2 in favor of Bush and the other was 5-4 in favor of Bush. Both Clinton/Gore appointees voted in Gore's favor on both decisions and one of Bush Sr.'s appointees voted with Gore in the 5-4 decision.
Thirdly, contrary to false claims of democrats and the major news media, Gore did not want all the votes in Florida to be counted. In fact, he specifically wanted some votes not to be counted at all. He wanted only those in selected, heavily Democrat, counties recounted. Where democrats were in charge of counting the votes. Ever heard the phrase He who controls the count, controls the vote? These democrats wanted to be able to decide what a voters intention was on ballots where two candidates were selected. Gore's team also did their very best to insure the absentee votes of our overseas service men and women were not counted. These are the very people who lay down their lives so that we can continue to live in freedom.
Finally, Assume Gore did get what he wanted; a hand recount only in heavily Democratic Broward, Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Volusia counties. A study by the Associated Press, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNN, St. Petersburg Times, Palm Beach Post, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel and Baltimore Sun, as well as other papers proved Gore would still have lost the election - by a 225-vote margin statewide. Every time the votes were counted Bush won. Get over it.

I attacked and took over two countries.

The Clinton/Gore administration attacked at least 6 countries; Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Serbia, and China (embassy). With what results? According to Democrat Presidential candidate, Wes Clark, we did not have UN approval for our action in Kosovo. On September 26, 2002, Clark supported the US's right to go to war with Iraq without UN approval. Clark testified before congress saying, When we took action in Kosovo, we did not have United Nations approval.

Genocide of Muslims was the Clinton/Gore justification for waging war in the Balkans. With all this military activity you'd think Clinton and Gore would have done something to stop the 700,000 black men, women and children from being slaughtered in a genocidal war in Rwanda. Are blacks in Rwanda less important?
The Clinton/Gore team also attacked a private residence in Waco, Texas, killing 76 American men, women and children. And oh, almost forgot, Clinton/Gore invaded Haiti too. Look how successful that proved to be.

George Bush's military actions on the other hand are among the most successful military campaigns in history and extraordinary effort was made to avoid civilian casualties. Within months of taking Baghdad the US led coalition reopened Iraqi schools and hospitals, formed a governing council of Iraqi citizens, and assembled an Iraqi police force.
Iraqi women can now move about freely without fear of being plucked off the street and served up to Saddam's sons in one of their rape rooms. And according to CBS News two million girls are now attending school in Afghanistan. Previously they were banned from school. By these actions George Bush has done more for women rights than all his Democrat opponents combined.
A recent Zogby poll in Iraq shows huge majorities of the population thankful and hoping the US doesn't leave too soon. Since these military victories we have made significant progress with Iran, N Korea, Libya and other countries hostile to the US.

By the way, military action might possibly have been avoided had the Clinton/Gore administration and the U.N. taken appropriate action sooner to disable Osama and to insure Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. Richard Cohen, the Clinton/Gore administration secretary of defense, termed the attack on the U.S.S. Cole and over twenty casualties, an insufficient provocation. Democrat Administrations have a history of incompetence on issues of national security. Remember there were bombings and killing of Americans in Saudi Arabia and at the Embassies in Africa. And lets not forget the 1st bombing of the Trade Towers all occurring during the Clinton/ Gore Administration all with grossly inadequate response.

John Kerry voted if favor of giving Bush the authority to take military action. He later claimed however, that he voted to threaten military action. If he's incapable of understanding a Bill of such grave importance, resulting in life and death for US and Iraqi citizens, Kerry is grossly incompetent as a Senator. Its frightful to think what could happen if someone this incompetent becomes President. Kerry has already stated his desire to not live up to the oath of office to defend our country. Kerry says this responsibility should be turned over to the UN. He has said: "I'd like to see our troops dispersed throughout the world only at the directive of the United Nations." If that doesn't scare you, please examine the record of the UN. Think Somalia, Rwanda, Kosovo before NATO got involved. Think Iraq for 12 years leading up to the war; weapons inspections and Oil For Food program. Think League or Nations leading up to WWII. This UN is no better.

Kerry also said he'd like "to almost eliminate CIA activity." He even proposed, just 2 years after the 1st attack on the world trade center, a $1.5 billion cut in the intelligence budget. Of the 99 other Senators he couldn't find one co-sponsor for his bill.

Sen. Kerry supported cancellation of many weapons systems that were required to win quick victories in Bosnia, Afghanistan and in Iraq.

Kerry has decided to make Vietnam an issue too, and calls it Nixon's war. Check the record, US war activity began with Kennedy and was escalated hugely under Johnson (both Democrats). It was the Republican, Nixon, that got us out. By the way, Kerry lied when he said he threw his medals over the White House fence in protest. After being questioned on the issue he finally admitted the medals he threw were someone else's. While Kerry had a commendable record as a Navy lieutenant, 30+ years ago, his conduct regarding Vietnam upon his return home was not.
In 1971 Kerry made the following unsubstantiated claim in testimony before congress regarding his fellow soldiers, "They personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam." He claimed these were not isolated incidents but everyday actions with the full knowledge of officers at all levels of command. If his allegations were true, why didn't he, as an officer, do his sworn duty to report atrocities while he was in Vietnam? His statement is unsubstantiated and slanders good, decent, honest American men and women that did their best to serve their country.

By the way, Kerry didn't go to Vietnam as willingly as he'd have you think. According to CBS news he attempted to delay service by applying to go to school in Paris. This attempt failed so he joined the Navy. Do you think serving as a naval officer was statistically less dangerous than serving as an army foot soldier? After serving for only 4 months he used a technicality to obtain a transfer from Vietnam and return home.

George W Bush's Vietnam era service was also commendable. Flying a fighter jet is neither easy nor safe and he was willing to go wherever he was sent. His unit rotated 2 pilots a year to Vietnam. "Lt. Bush is a dynamic outstanding young officer. He clearly stands out as a top-notch fighter interceptor pilot," Lt. Col. Jerry Killian wrote in recommending that Bush be promoted from second to first lieutenant. He called Bush "a tenacious competitor and an aggressive pilot" who displayed "sound judgment."

One of George Bush's squadron mates, Col. William Campenni wrote, "The Bush critics do not comprehend the dangers of fighter aviation at any time or place, in Vietnam or at home, when they say other such pilots were risking their lives or even dying while Lt. Bush was in Texas. Our Texas ANG unit lost several planes right there in Houston during Lt. Bush's tenure, with fatalities. Just strapping on one of those obsolescing F-102s was risking one's life. Statistically, flying the number of hours that Bush did in an F-100 series fighter has about a 2% death rate, the same as going to Vietnam, even if you didn't get deployed over there for combat. And we were still at the height of the cold war, staring at Bear bombers, Migs, and other threats. Nobody becomes a combat pilot while basking in the delusional certainty that a major war won't happen. The transparent claims of the Democrats completely ignores the fact that a random 2% of fighter pilots would die strapped to their hurling metal suicide machines, built by the lowest bidder on a government contract where even the aeronautical engineers were struggling and in way over their heads."
Bush also has a phenomenal record as Commander in Chief with victories in Afghanistan and Iraq. Unlike Kerry's military accomplishments these are very recent and provide a solid basis for what we can expect in the next four years from the highest military authority in the land.

I spent the surplus and bankrupted the treasury.

What surplus? It was only a projected surplus using the then current level of tax revenues. In 2000, prior to Bush taking office, economic growth and tax revenues were already in decline. The 9/11 attack and subsequent war increased the current budget deficits, but the largest proportion of the deficit is due to the effects of the recession. As a percentage of GNP, though, the current budget deficit isn't much larger than the one Clinton and Gore had in their first term.

I set all-time record for biggest drop in the history of the stock market.

The markets dropped sharply 10 months prior to Bush taking office. They dropped again just after the worst terrorist attack ever on U.S. soil. One in which the financial markets were specifically targeted. The World Trade Towers and 3000 people were destroyed. It's actually quite amazing the drop wasn't bigger and longer in duration. Two years after 9/11, the DOW was back over 10,000 and approaching all time highs.

Set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in US history.

Get real. Its routine for Presidents to leave Washington in the summer. Clinton didn't have his own home so he hung out at the homes of the rich and famous. He especially liked staying with his Hollywood friends, with the Kennedy's, and at Martha's Vineyard. Bush's Crawford ranch has all the necessities for Presidential duties and serves as an excellent facility for hosting foreign leaders.

After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, I presided over the worst security failure in US history.

Brought on by Osama Bin Laden, a man the Clinton/Gore administration knew was responsible for terrorist activities against the US. Clinton/Gore had opportunities to apprehend Bin Laden but didn't. Al Qaeda, emboldened by their success in Somalia, in blowing up embassies, attacking the U.S.S. Cole and killing 17 sailors, were pleased that William Cohen, Clinton's defense secretary and Madeline Albright, his Secretary of State, considered the Cole incident "not sufficient provocation" to justify an American military response.

Many liberal pundits and even the former democrat mayor of New York, Ed Koch (who has announced he will vote for Bush) say they were thankful Bush was President when our country came under attack on 9/11and admire his leadership and sound response to this continued threat to our nation and it's citizens.

In my State Of The Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq, then blamed the lies on our British friends.

This is the boldest lie of all. What exactly did Bush say that democrats call a lie. Do a Google search on this subject and you'll find those calling Bush a liar are not willing to quote what he said. The only ones that do quote Bush are those supportive of the president. Do you know what the 16 words are that constitute this lie? "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa" Is this a lie? Let's say you gave me instructions on the shortest way to the airport. I get in my car and while on my way there I find out a road in your directions is no longer there. Does that make you a liar? Bush presented the best intelligence we had at the time. Had Democrats not cut intelligence spending maybe we/d have had better intelligence. The British, by the way, still claim their intelligence was accurate.

John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Joe Lieberman, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Tom Daschle, Dick Gephardt, Wes Clark and every member of the UN Security Council said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. If it was a lie when George Bush said it, it was a lie when John Kerry said it and voted in favor of war.

I set the record for most campaign fundraising trips than any other president in US history.

If so, it was Clinton's record he broke. Does the author believe Clinton was evil when he owned the record? Perhaps Bush needs to travel more because he's not making a fortune in the White House having coffees and renting out the Lincoln bedroom.

We know he has to raise plenty to compete with the donations of the Hollywood millionaires and billionaires like Rob Reiner, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Martin Scorsese, Oliver Stone and others. And what about billionaire George Soros? According to CBS News he made $2.5 billion on Wall Street and after being a proponent of campaign finance reform is donating $25 million to defeat Bush. Guess he thinks reform means stopping only those people that disagree with him from contributing to political campaigns.

In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their job.

The most significant factor in measuring economic security is home ownership. According to the St. Petersburg Times, "George W. Bush is presiding over the record highest home ownership in history at 68.6%". Now, concerning the job losses. Again, the bubble burst 10 months before Bush took office and it was another year before Bush's first budget and tax policy had a chance to have an effect. This accounts for 1 million lost jobs. Seven and a half months into his presidency we were attacked by terrorists causing 2 million more lost jobs. Since then, Bush policies have had a chance to work and the economy has gained back 1 million jobs. For a good read on job gains and losses read Jobs Come and Go by Walter E. Williams.

It truly is amazing the economy didn't take a bigger hit and for a longer period of time after the devastating 9/11 attacks. Who knows if these attacks could have been avoided had the Clinton/Gore taken Osama when he had the chance(s). According to the Washington Times, Bill Clinton had an opportunity to rid us of Osama, after the USS Cole bombing, and possessed solid evidence about his location. In fact, according to Richard Miniter, author of Loosing Bin Laden, Clinton passed up 11 other chances.

Additionally, the corporate meltdowns of WorldCom, Enron and Global Crossing (the latter which made Democrat National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe a very rich man...) resulted from the greed of the 90's and a failure to oversee the fiscal malfeasance of these company's during the 90's. Hazel O'Leary, Clinton's Energy Secretary, had Enron donate an unknown sum to her "I Have A Dream" charity. And Enron's largest donation; $100,000.00 was to the Clinton/Gore 1996 reelection campaign.
The lost jobs count may not be as high as stated. There has been a large increase in the number of people starting their own business. These people are not counted in the jobs numbers.
Finally, Do you really what your politicians guaranteeing jobs? That was the policy of the former Soviet Union. The miserable results of that economic system should prove forever the falsehood of those promises.

I cut unemployment benefits for more out of work Americans than any president in US history.

Actually they were extended by eight months under Bush.

I set the all-time record for most bankruptcies in a 12-month period.

Credit risk and management experts say the liberalization of sub-prime credit card, auto and mortgage loans in 1994 is the primary reason for high bankruptcies now. Incomes increased by 56% during the 90s, but debt increased by 96%.

I appointed more convicted criminals to his administration than any president in US history.

OK, lets examine all the previous administrations to see if this is true. Starting with the last one, Clinton/Gore. Its record of corruption is as follows:

The only president ever impeached for on grounds of personal misconduct
Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by of friends and associates
Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
First president sued for sexual harassment - Paula Jones
First president to be accused of sexual assault in the White House - Kathleen Wiley
First president accused of rape. - Juanita Broaddrick
First first lady to come under criminal investigation
Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
First president to establish a legal defense fund.
Most illegal campaign contributions from abroad
First Vice President (Gore) to illegally solicit campaign funds from the White House
Five cabinet members were indicted.
14 Clinton associates, including a governor, an associate attorney general and two business partners were convicted or plead guilty during his administration.
47 individuals and businesses associated with the Clinton political machine were convicted or plead guilty to crimes. 33 of these during President Clinton's tenure.
61 indictments for misdemeanor crimes
122 congressional witnesses who pled the fifth, fled the country or refused to be
Bush appointed one convicted criminal and the number of Bush administration officials indicted, convicted, or imprisoned is a big fat 0, Nada, None! Only had to go back one administration to prove this claim false.

I set the record for the least press conferences than any president since the advent of television.

Is there a required minimum? John Kerry missed 62% of 432 Senate roll call votes in 2003 and over 90% in 2004. Which is worse?

I signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any president history.

Where is the evidence to support this claim? Bush, has endorsed the idea of a constitutional amendment to define marriage. This in response to law breaking mayors and liberal judges overturning the will of the people. The full faith and credit clause in the constitution causes one states laws be force on others. To protect the will of the overwhelming majority of the people Bush was forced to seek this remedy. Liberals are wedge among Americans on this issue with the intent of blaming Bush for the divisiveness.

Congress passed, and President Clinton signed, the Defense of Marriage Act, which defined marriage, by law, as the legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife. The Act passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 342 to 67, and the Senate by a vote of 85 to 14. John Kerry was 1 of the 14 on the losing side of this lopsided vote. Now, Kerry offers nothing to protect Americans from 4 liberal judges (in his home state of Massachusetts) forcing their beliefs on the vast majority of Americans who disagree. Similar defensive marriage laws were passed by large margins in 38 states establishing an overwhelming consensus in our country for marriage as being between one man and one woman.

This is not something Bush can do by executive order. It requires congress to pass it and 38 states must ratify it. We call this checks and balances. Courts can throw out laws created by congress and congress with 75% of the states ratifying an amendment can check the powers of the court. A legitimate and necessary process provided for in the US Constitution. It requires overwhelming public support. Hardly a unilateral action.

President Clinton came under fire for using the EO as a way to make policy without consulting the Republican Congress (see the quotes at the beginning of this article). Clinton signed over 300 EOs since taking office in 1992. In one case, he designated 1.7 million acres of Southern Utah as the Grant Staircase - Escalante National Monument. He also designated a system of American Heritage Rivers and even fought a war with Yugoslavia under Executive Order.

I presided over the biggest energy crisis in US history

Untrue, The biggest energy crisis occurred during the Carter ( a Democrat) administration. California's recent crisis was of its own making. During the 1990s, while Texas, a state of comparable size, population and industrial base, built more than 100 power plants, California built eight with less than 1000 MW capacity in aggregate. Between 1994 and 1998, no applications for licenses were even received due to the hostile and uncertain environment California represented for the industry. In the meantime, demand for electrical power was growing at 4-6% a year while Gray Davis slept. Nevada and neighboring states were building power plants specifically to sell power to California (which imports 25% of its power). This put California in an extremely venerable situation and put Gray Davis into the position of having to buy power contracts from as far west as the Mississippi at premium prices, and as far north as Canada. California simply did not have the generating capacity or local production of natural gas. Democrats point the fingers at deregulation, the fact is that their version of deregulation is the problem, not private markets for electricity which work very well in other areas of the country and in Canada. Did various corporations try to profit from California's short sightedness? Probably, but in a state that is allegedly a model of Democratic governance, the Democrats cannot escape responsibility for placing the state in crisis, there's simply no one else to blame.
This is getting quite tedious and if you haven't learned by now that the Bush Resume doesn't have an ounce of credibility you are beyond any definition a fair minded person. We'll do a few more but that's enough.

Presided over the highest gasoline prices in US history and refused to use the national reserves as past presidents have.

Adjusted for inflation, Democrat Jimmy Carter owns that record by a long shot. Jimmy Carter also presided over the highest mortgage rates in history, nearly 20%. Remember stagflation? Under Ronald Reagan that trend was reversed. George Bush now presides over the lowest mortgage rates in more than 40 years. President Clinton did use our Strategic Reserves to keep gasoling prices down, and ran them to a crisis low. The biggest single reasons for today's higher gasoline prices are the "designer fuels" demanded by state's like California, and environmentalist blocking of all attempts to to increase our domestic production.

Cut healthcare benefits for war veterans.

On December 16, 2003, President Bush signed H.R. 2297, the Veterans Benefits Act of 2003, a bill composed of 7 titles with 39 substantive provisions. All totaled, the new law authorizes $1 billion over the next ten years for new and expanded benefits for disabled veterans, surviving spouses, and children.

President Bush also signed another important veterans bill, H.R. 100, the Service members Civil Relief Act, legislation that helps lessen personal financial and legal burdens service members and their loved ones may face at home while they are on active duty in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other locations around the world.

"The Veterans Benefits Act provides significant new support to veterans, particularly to disabled veterans, their surviving spouses, and children," Committee Chairman Chris Smith said. " ... this legislation increases federal grants used to adapt homes and automobiles for the use of severely disabled veterans." (Source: House Committee on Veterans Affairs)

Set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously take to the streets to protest me (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind. (http://www.hyperreal.org/~dana/marches/)

Nothing found at this site. Did however find something at http://www.greenleft.org.au Obviously a left wing site. There was no information about any verification of these numbers and it's well known these organizations inflate the numbers.

The website claimed that the US population was overwhelmingly opposed to the war. That is false. In April 2003 polling by Zogby International, 75% supported the war , while 22% opposed. This proves the claims at that site cannot be trusted.

Dissolved more international treaties than any president in US history.

Checked the web site that was supposed to verify this claim but nothing was there. A google search produces nothing but a hit list of various versions of this bogus resume. Name some.

My presidency is the most secretive and un-accountable of any in US history.

What is the basis, and where is the proof? Or is that a secret?

Members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in US history. (the 'poorest' multi-millionaire, Condoleeza Rice has a Chevron oil tanker named after her).

If you don't want millionaires at the highest levels of government don't vote for Kerry. No one in the Bush administration has anywhere close to the wealth of the Kerry's. He'd be the 3rd richest president of all time.

The Clinton/Gore cabinet had at least six millionaires and probably more. At the time, the wealthiest cabinet in history. Was it good for Clinton/Gore to have the richest cabinet ever and wrong for George Bush?

The highest qualified people presidents can find to take these positions are intelligent, hardworking, successful people. People of such high caliber tend to do well financially. Duh. Fortunately, enough of these people exist that are willing to put up with enormous amounts of public scrutiny and criticism while serving our country for much less money than they could otherwise earn.
Not all intelligent, hardworking, successful people are ethical however. Clinton promised his cabinet would be diverse and look like America. It actually looked like America's criminals. Let's review the indictments and ethics charges against members of the Clinton/Gore cabinet. Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Espy for bribery; Secretary of Labor, Alexis Herman and Secretary of the Interior for selling access to the White House; Robert Reich, Secretary of Labor perjured himself to Congress; Hazel O'Leary for selling access to herself to Johnnie Chung, a prominent fund-raiser for the Democratic National Committee; Ron Brown, Secretary of Commerce, also for selling access to DNC fund-raisers and accepting a $700,000 bribe.
We've had none of these legal and ethical problems with the Bush millionaires.

Presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud of any market in any country in the history of the world.

The bankruptcies were filed early in the Bush Administration but when did the fraud occur? In 1998, Merrill Lynch, concerned about being excluded from a large Enron stock offering, dumped John Olson, Merrill Lynch's top energy analyst, who was not positive with respect to Enron's stock. He was replaced by Donato Eassey, who was bullish on Enron. Merrill Lynch was specifically rewarded for the analyst switch with tens of millions of dollars in Enron investment banking business.
The shenanigans at Enron, Global Crossing, WorldCom, Tyco, and others occurred during the Clinton/Gore reign. It just caught up with them during Bush's. When Ken Lay called Bush for help.
He didn't get any.

First president in US history to order a US attack and military occupation of a sovereign nation.

This is laughable and not worthy of response. Clearly the author did not major in US History.

Created the largest government department bureaucracy in the history of the United States.

Consolidated 22 government agencies into 1 to improve coordination, reduce redundancies, increase efficiencies and performance and have one department head accountable for results. This passed with overwhelming bipartisan approval in congress. The House voted 299-121 the Senate voted 90-9

First president in US history to have the United Nations remove the US from the human rights commission.

So we are not peers with Libya, Cuba, and North Korea on human rights. And that's a bad thing?

Removed more checks and balances, and have the least amount of congressional oversight than any presidential administration in US history.

The person writing this needs a civics lesson.
There are three branches in the United States government as established by the Constitution. First, the Legislative branch makes the law. Second, the Executive branch executes the law. Last, the Judicial branch interprets the law. Each branch has checks on the others. The Executive Branch (President) cannot remove the powers of either the Legislative or Judiciary Branches of Government. Here's a question while we're at it. Where's the check against federal judges striking down any legislation that offends his/her sensibilities?

Rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant.

If the United Nations is irrelevant it rendered itself irrelevant by passing resolutions and not enforcing them. It also has a track record of failure in the actions it does take. It's a long list. I won't bore you any further.

More about Enron and it's political connections with democrats
NBC News reporter David Gregory admits that while Enron gave President Bush and Republicans big contributions, there's no evidence they got anything for their money. That's certainly the case with Bush and the global warming treaty. Enron was a big backer of the treaty, also called the Kyoto Protocol, and yet Bush has abandoned it because of questions about the science behind the theory and the cost.
So it turns out that the company we are led to believe was exercising influence over the Bush Administration through campaign contributions doesn't' t have any influence at all. This fact makes a mockery of implications that Bush did the bidding of Enron.
In an April 23 article in Business Week, Paul Raeburn noted that "big corporate names" were disagreeing with Bush on global warming. One of them was identified as Enron.
The Washington Post described some of Enron's lobbying on behalf of the treaty in a January 13 article. Reporter Dan Morgan said Enron chairman Kenneth Lay, a member of Clinton's Council on Sustainable Development, had a meeting with Clinton and Vice President Gore where he advocated a "market-based" approach to the problem of global warming." An Enron memo said this was "good for Enron stock."
Morgan added, "The Clinton administration's interest in an international agreement to combat global warming also dovetailed with Enron's business plans. Enron officials envisioned the company at the center of a new trading system, in which industries worldwide could buy and sell credits to emit carbon dioxide as part of a strategy to reduce greenhouse gases. Such a system would curtail the use of inefficient coal-fired power plants that emitted large amounts of carbon dioxide, while encouraging new investments in gas-fired plants and pipelines, precisely Enron's line of business." Morgan added that Enron officials were elated with the Kyoto Protocol and said it would "do more to promote Enron's business than almost any other regulatory initiative outside of restructuring the energy and natural gas industries."
The radical environmentalists claimed Enron, which staged many "Earth Day" activities, as a true friend. At a dinner in Kyoto during treaty negotiations, Enron chairman Lay was given an award by the Climate Institute. Enron also received an award from the EPA. Writing in the journal of the Hoover Institution, Bruce Yandle noted that Enron endorsed President Clinton's $6.3 billion plan. Yandle added, "Kyoto-justified taxpayer subsidies will make life easier for firms like Enron." Clinton gave them the subsidies in exchange for campaign contributions. Bush gave them nothing.

Fact: Enron donated $100,000 to Clinton/Gore's inauguration in 1992.

Fact: Enron donated $25,000 to Clinton/Gore's celebrations in 1993.

Fact: According to a Center for Responsive Politics analysis of Enron's contributions from 1989 to 2001 l Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee: received $38,000 from Enron compared to $5,550 for Armey (R).

Fact: According to the Center, is Charles Schumer (D) received $21,933 compared to $2,450 for Kyl (R).

Fact: Jesse Jackson received money from Enron in the six figure range, but refused to disclose how much.

Fact: 29 Senate Democrats, not including those that are retired, were unseated, or died, received a total of $110,513 in the last 12 years from Enron.

Fact: Enron contributed some $530,000 to the DNC during the 2000 election alone.

Fact: Steve Grossman convinced Enron Corp. to pump $55,000 into the Democratic National Committee over a 17-month period while he chaired the national party.

Fact: The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee received three checks from the Houston-based energy and trading giant totaling $100,000. Karen Denne, an Enron spokeswoman, said the company had a record of two checks written to the committee -- dated Sept. 24 and Nov. 2

Fact: The Center for Responsive Politics lists Democratic Senators Schumer of New York, Breaux of Louisiana, and Bingaman of New Mexico--chair of the Senate Energy Committee--among the top beneficiaries of Enron's political donations.

Fact: Mayor Lee. P Brown (D) of Houston received $250,000 just before Enron filed Chapter 11. Enron campaigned against the conservative candidate for mayor.

Fact: Clinton officials helped Enron win the contract in India as well as in Indonesia. Enron had received U.S. government funds to build power plants in China, the Philippines and Turkey. Enron also won contracts in Pakistan and Russia while accompanying senior U.S. government officials on state trips. In June 1996, four days before India granted final approval to Enron's project, Lay's company gave $100,000 to the DNC.

Final Comments:
The author of this bogus resume, like John Kerry, makes many claims for which he/she provides no evidence. He/she attempted to compare George Bush negatively to all previous presidents. In this rebuttal comparisons are made of the Bush administration to the Clinton/Gore administration only to demonstrate you don't have to go far back to prove the statements false and/or absurd. The bogus resume reveals that those who create and spread such slander have no desire to make a positive contribution. They're at best naïve and many are dishonest, hateful, partisans with no solutions who prefer spreading untruths, distortions and lies to discussing real issues substantively, intelligently and honestly.
Bush's opponents keep saying they have plans for the economy and for peace but all we get are platitudes and false slurs hurled at the President. Where are the specific plans and how will they make a positive difference based on solid analysis. Where also are the decent, honest democrats who respect human dignity and desire a strong, prosperous, fair, and safe America. Please take back your party and lets discuss real and important issues and work together to make America a better place. To make us truly, one Nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
When you vote in November please consider your country more important than your party.

Its so easy to debunk that bit of Looney Leftism a kid could do it.

Here's another well-researched and annotated rebuttal, with hyperlinks to relevant documents and articles, The Truth (Download note: 45 page PDF file)
Here's the same rebuttal in HTML Format from Google's cache. While not a PDF, this too will take a while to load. Though no hyperlinks are included, there are plenty of URLs to cut-and-paste if you care to see where they go.

Thanks, timber.

This English course weblog from Nazareth College Rochester seems to be quite corroborative to your ideas.

Walter, the blog entry I quoted above was written by a student, a Junior, I believe, in a Mr. Ron Wargo's Advanced Placement English Class, at Skyview High School, Vancouver Washington. Could you provide a link to the Nazareth College blog you mentioned?

Oh, and if you're not too busy, Walter, could you check outThis German-English Translation question? I'm sure you're better qualified to help the newbie than I.

Well, I was mislead by the mentioning of "academic" blog, since 'academic' here in Europe means from university (college) upwards.
Thus, I searched in "academic circles"

And: no, I don't have the link, only surfed around some sites.

Translation done.

Cool ... thanks. Blame the misunderstanding on my fabled imprecision. I'll look around some myself. No biggie; there are lots of rebuttals to the "Bush Resume" poppycock. Typically, factual refutations get less play than the partisan drivel so eaderly embraced by the credulous. I'm sure someone already is working feverishly on a refutation to that spurious "Kerry Resume". I noticed a few things in there that were either partisanly subjective, patent hyperbole, or just plain wrong ... for instance, the estimate of the combined net worth of the Heinz-Kerry fortune was several hundred million low, according to recent news reposts. The voting record references might be a little hard to paper over, though.

And thanks for helping that newbie over on that other thread. I figured you'd do a better job than I could.

My sixteen year old daughter just sat and watched the interview with me. I have not talked politics with her because I believe children should achieve their own thoughts - with my help, of course, if asked. She has never asked me anything. She sat and watched of her own volition, I didn't ask her to come, stay or leave.

Her comments:
Quote:

Bush was very arrogant and talked down to the reporter and the whole world displaying that America and Americans was far better and superior to the rest of the world. Bush would not let her talk, he interrupted her (interesting). Bush was wrong in that the world is not a better, safer place and he was wrong in his relationship with God and how he displayed it (she is very Christian and devote). She said that she got the feeling he was trying to deceive everyone. She talked of him as 'like' Pastor Brown and the way he talks. (Pastor Brown is currently in prison for robbing banks - this action hurt her greatly, a lost trust so to speak - he was a Baptist preacher).

She was totally turned off by him, his speech, his choice of words, his ideas - she expressed his arrogance and hubris. BTW, she is an advanced honor student with straight A's.

Geeees - I didn't lead her, push her, set ideas in her head, a few opening and continuing questions that's all.

Had Bush been AWOL it would be documented. It's not.

Hmm, there sure seems to be some dispute over whether all the documents have been brought to light yet, or whether those which have actually prove that he was there.

I did a search for them online but the only thing I could find was this, so....
