Nah, BPB, I wouldn't call that a violation.
oh littlek, I just this second woke up, haven't even had my coffee. Was going to have cornflakes but now you've peed in them. Oh well, eggs it is.
It's ok guys. Let it just sit there.
I'm going for coffee. No one appreciates my cutting edge trailer park southern wit.
I thought by now you knew little k, I'm the sensitive type. A delicate flower of a Bear, that's me.
Somebody throw out the pee-pee cereal.
I already gave it to the dog. She'll eat anything.
We love you Bear and your wit. Never fear....... and don't worry, I have a lot of pee in the cerial problems at my house too. Although, in my case it's usually me that's done the dirty deed.
Well, I can see you have all lapsed back into your characteristic ways of thinking and posturing while I have been away. Come to think of it you were all pretty well lapsed while I was here as well. Good to see nothing's changed. It was refreshing to quickly scroll a couple of pages and see once again the familiar characters - brightened up the morning.
I have enjoyed a wonderful week in San Francisco - looking over a property I am restoring in the Filmore. Cloudy & cool these last few days but still very much the place I like above most others. A few more days of this then back to the right coast and work.
Gray Davis' star is falling fast; George W is still president - the world is a good place.
and we are all praying that Arnold gets elected, I know I am.
Well, Dys, he's not my first choice, but he'll do. Better than having the state run by the state employee's unions.
And how was your breakfast this morning, George?
Yeah, Davis is toast, by all current indication. Still, the fact remains his replacement, whoever it may be, steps into an unenviable position. California, regardless who becomes Governor, will still have all the problems which brought about the recall. On the other hand, as the economy improves and expands, as the situation in Iraq continues to stabilize and the lot of the people there grows ever more tolerable, as the European opponents of the attack on Iraq continue to seek reconcilliation and accomodation with The US, as The War on Terrorism continues to go well, as the situations involving Iran and North Korea continue to resolve along diplomatic lines and with active participation by third-party nations, and as The Democratic Party continues to consume itself while marching ever more leftward of The Center, George the Younger is ever more assured of years of breakfasts overlooking The Whitehouse Rose Garden. The world indeed is a good place.
New polls show that McClintock or Schwarzenegger running alone would easily defeat Bustamonte. 65% favor the recall. Personally, I'd prefer someone with Schwarzenegger's politics but more experience in public office.
What I do like about Arnold is that with his star power he is able to go against the ultra-conservatives that have ruined the Republican's chances at this office for so long.
Ahnold's t.v. ads also show that he's going to institute taxes for the Indian casinos in California. The only state that doesn't. I think he's going to win a few votes just from this ad, because Bustamante has been getting money from the Indian casinos. Interesting.
Hmm. I don't think the casino's in Michigan pay taxes either. I'd be interested to know the answer.
I don't think the casinos in Washington do, either. The tribes also sell untaxed cigarettes, if I'm not mistaken.
The casinos, and other Tribal Enterprises, here in Wisconsin enjoy significant tax benefits as compared to non-Native-American businesses. Although I'm not a gambler, I do take advantage of lower fuel and tobacco prices offered by the Tribal Enterprises, and the restaurants and theaters at the Casinos are excellent comparative values. The tax status of the Native Americans does engender some local dispute and resentment.
The parkinglots of their establishments are generally crowded, however, and there is frequently a line at the cash register.
I know this may be an antiquated emotion, but harkening back to the 'no taxation without representation...' and factoring in how the 'Indians' were robbed.... I don't feel they should be taxed. Not like the rest of us.
Its going to take some time to recover the 13 billion dollars lost by this government held in trust for Native Americans. Records have been, and continue to be, lost, systematically destroyed, corrupted and, in many cases, never kept. In short, the government has no idea what the proper balances in our trust accounts should be. It doesn't know how many trust beneficiaries there were in the first place and it doesn't know how many trust accounts it should be managing today.
It has admitted, however, that at least $13 billion in nominal dollars has been collected from Individual Indian Trust lands. But it doesn't know what happened to this money or the compound interest this money was earning for generations
