Who or whatever was a roadblock to sensible foreign policy has been removed from Obama's sphere of influence. Finally, he's doing the right thing. Somebody's eyeing his legacy.

@Lash,
History will judge O. as a hideously corrupt egotist.

Just read this

http://www.wsj.com/articles/barack-obama-checks-out-1457998920

Barack Obama Checks Out
A journalist takes a deep dive into the president’s shallow mind. Crises to follow.

I think the only way out would be for someone to say that O.'s quoted words in the interview were made up. Barring that, he comes off terribly immature and dumb.

@Lash,
I'd say he's doing what he HAS to. Not what he'd like to (His puppeteers, I mean).

Yeah, Russia's bombing of Syrian rebels has been a sore point for the Obama Administration. According to the article you've cited, though, it doesn't look like Russia is going to accede to stopping it or pressuring Assad to doing the same, for that matter.

Those who love Putin so much should go over there and live with him. Lash is completely delusional. The American-lead coalition has been attacking ISIS from the air, and on the ground, it has been Iraqi forces and Shi'ite militias, lead by Revolutionary Guards from Iran. Lash must have to work very hard to come up with this BS.

No, actually that's part of the problem. she doesn't work at it at all; just indiscriminately scoops up and pastes links she hopes will support her latest BS smear. I say 'hopes' and not 'thinks' will support, because it's obvious she doesn't even read some of them. The articles often don't support what she's saying and sometimes contradict it.

@Setanta,
I know you have a big history horn to toot, but I've also had illuminating conversations about Putin's success in the Syrian mess with specialists in the region...and your silly 'go live there' fallacy cuts in to your credibility.

Putin has enjoyed legitimate success against ISIS. Period. The US may finally start working with him. Is Obama delusional too?

@Lash,
If Russians have actually bombed ISIS, it's been a targeting mistake. You seem also to be putting the cart before the horse--Russia, if it actually comes through, will be joining the coalition lead by the United States which has been bombing ISIS for quite a while.

Your silly remarks about having me on ignore, and yet responding to my posts, cuts into your credibility.

Im sure we can trust the Russian government. After all they have been peaceful in Europe only reacquiring states that had inadvertinately left the union without a legal vote, which they say will be held in 30 or 40 years. Maybe we can reacquire Cuba since we have a military base there?

So, when the Russians destroyed a large convoy of ISIS oil trucks, they were mistaken as to who they were bombing?

Putin has not been attacking Islamic State. Putin has been helping Assad murder innocent civilians.

99% of the attacks against Islamic State have been conducted by the United States Air Force.

So, destroying a large convoy of ISIS oil trucks doesn't qualify as an attack on ISIS? Explain.

Russia's 100 airstrikes a day is pretty significant, I think.

There are many ways for the KGB to craft such propaganda. I'm unsure which one this is.

One possibility is, the entire thing was photoshopped.

Another possibility is, it was a US airstrike and Putin is only claiming credit for it.

Another possibility is, they made a single strike on Islamic state because they knew that gullible people would focus on that single strike and ignore the fact that 99.9999% of Russian airstrikes have nothing to do with either Islamic State or al-Qa'ida, and instead are assisting Assad in his massacre of innocent civilians.

There are probably a million different ways for the KGB to craft such propaganda.
