Drom, I think it's better just to let things happen. That way, one does not feel guilty when the match isn't matchless..lol. Create the staging, perhaps, then let the play be one act or three.

That's the best way, Letty; laissez-faire matching. I like the 'Much Ado' approach, but, sadly, it often doesn't work.

Hey, G.D., Gus is a catch. He's still in his prime, and can show you a few neat things with animals. On a good night, he looks like a cross between Anne Brontë and Jay Leno.

What more could you want?

Hey, Brit. Finally, a face from across the pond.(right next to drom) Let's see, now. With whom can we match you. I'm afraid that Gus has been taken, so no worries there. How about Clary? <smile>

(With whom is Gus matched?)

I'm thinking Annifa and Grand Duke, (even though GD is married, heh.)

Cheers Letty! It is apparently 326.4 miles from my town to hers, which in Britain is a very long way. In fact, anything more than 20 miles is a long way away. It looks like I'm going to have to buy a car or summat. Bugger.

With all due respect to Clary, have you got anyone else in mind? I can think of at least 2 A2Kers who only live 29.2 miles away, but they are both Dukes not Duchesses so I'm pretty stuck!

Hmmm. Let's see. I think perhaps that drom is better able to fix you up with someone than I, Duke. Ah, your screen name makes me think of a song that my mom used to sing to all of us.

Here comes two dukes a-riding..riding..riding.
Here come two dukes a-riding with a ransom, tansom, tareyoh!
What are you riding here for, here for, here for.
What are you riding here for,
With a ransom, tansom, tareyoh.

I'm riding here to get married,
Married, married.
I'm riding here to get married, with a ransom, tansom, tareyoh!

It's a long lullaby, so I won't continue. Just a sweet memory.

Ah, lovely song, Letty Very Happy. My wrist is on a slow-mend, but I'm in a singing mood.

G.D. is right about distance: I crossed the whole of France in 19 hours, including quite a few stops for pain au chocolat. I crossed a THIRD of England (so that's one sixth/seventh the length of France) in 7 hours. So, if I were to go to the top of England, which is, remember, about half the size of France, it would take approx. 21 hours. So, on English roads, it would take 42 hours to do the distance that I did in France in 19.

I think that Annifa and GD are well-matched. Both can groove, both mention unusual things like Lea & Perrins sauce and badminton rackets, and they have the same sort of humour...

Who would suit Clary, though?

I have until just now been unaware of Annifa here in A2K. I'm off to do some research...

Yes, you might find her posts in the 'Can we talk?' thread interesting, as well as other ones.

Just to set the record straight - I have no Duchess (either currently or recently). Crying or Very sad See my teen-angst-style posts in 'Me, Myself & I' if you want a good laugh...

Anyway, now what?

O, I see, G.D. Well, let our collective heads work their magic for you Very Happy! Wouldn't you say that your and Annifa's comic styles are very similar?

Where has Annifa been lately? She was one of my favourites, impish wit and all.

I've missed her too. She has been away for a good three days now, Cav; who knows what's going on in Annifaland?

smokingunne - -Did you ever venture South to Kelly's disco in Mohill, County Leitrim on weekends? About 35 miles below Enniskillen as the eagle flys. Way out in the sticks, the place jumped every Friday and Saturday night!

Jack: small world! I've not been to Kelly's Disco, but I have been to Fitzpatrick's pub when I was passing through Leitrim. They had bands there midweek, think it was Tuesday.

Jack and drom. Where is Kelly's Disco. Is that in Northern Ireland?

I don't know where Kelly's disco is, (it's probably held in Fitzpatrick's pub, but I may be wrong,) but Leitrim is a county up by the border with Northern Ireland: I'll get a map to show you exactly Very Happy.
