You seem to equate being in heaven as being there in our natural bodies that we now possess. When you die your body goes back to dust. The body and spirite are separated at death.

Ahhhh....so you apparently are arguing that it is our body that has free will...and not our...essence...our spirit...our souls?

C'mon, Intrepid. You can do better than this.

I can't improve upon the word of God and this is what the word tells us. Take it or leave it. That is your choice. I am not arguing anything...I am stating what I believe to be true.

Note only the Christians will go to heaven. I wonder what they have in mind for the rest of us? Gas chambers?
And they wonder why all the Christian bashing.

I'll ask again (3rd time) for a response to this.

Now you have the best of both worlds. You can screw up big time and still have salvation, and you can still dip back into the old book to reinforce pet prejudices and bigotry.

Not to say the rest of your post wasn't good......but this comment is spectacular and 100% right on target.

I ask neologist, rexred, real life, and your ilk how you would respond directly to this quote?

I responded to this on page 236 with a question. You seem to have missed or ignored it. I assume that you consider me part of the "ilk"

No, I didn't miss it. Your post was refuted and found to be a strawman. Please try to respond w/o one.

Isn't the assumption that all religious folks are bigoted just another type of bigotry in itself?

I suppose you could say that......but I'm not the one saying I'm not bigoted, YOU ARE (or your religion anyway).

No, it's just an observation. Try to wrap your mind around this:

Wikipedia wrote:
Bigotry is not "intolerance," but "unreasonable intolerance". For example, some Jews may be intolerant of Nazi Anti-Semitism; that doesn't necessarily make them anti-Nazi bigots.

The same applies to those who simply make the observation that religionists are bigoted.

I would say that it is unreasonable to simply assume that tens of millions of people that you have never met and have no knowledge of how they conduct their lives are all bigots just because you do not hold to their religious principles.

So if you are not saying that you are not, are you saying that you are?

I don't for a moment believe that the millions of people in this country with religious conviction are bigots. That is why i specifically used the term "religionist," which means someone who is a proponent of religion, as opposed to those who simply practice a religion. Those who insist on foisting the practice of religion on others are the bigots, and it is to them that i refer. I also do not believe that there are anything like millions, let alone tens of millions, of religionists in this country.
