Here's another aspect of heaven that doesn't make any sense. If heaven is supposed to be sin free, what happens to free will? Or is the threat of hell always present in heaven?

I called upon the LORD... I asked the LORD to teach me so that I may be pleasing in the site of God...

I was then translated to a room with a window and several furnishings... I instinctively opened the window as I walked around the room noticing the contents suddenly a bird flew in through the window.

I immediately went to catch the bird so I could allow it to fly back out through the window. I easily caught the bird like it trusted me and let me place my hands around it's fragile body... I moved back over to the window and set the bird on the sill and motioned for it to fly away. Yet the bird just stood there to take one last glance at me before it would fly away.

Without warning the window came slamming down and fell upon the little birds back. I noticed the bird looking up at me with such disappointment. I could not bare the sadness as I opened window and picked the crushed nearly lifeless bird up in my hands. I set the bird on the sill again and motioned for it to fly away. This time I held the window from falling yet the bird just sat there.

In remorse I picked the bird up again and noticed a small wooden box on a table next to the window. I looked around the room but there was no cage for this bird... So I found a small piece of cloth and I placed the bird on the cloth and laid it inside the box.

As I went to close the box the lid slipped out of my fingers and slammed down on the box. When I lifted the lid I saw that now the birds head was all bloody... The bird had tried to pick up it's head and look out of the box while I was shutting the box.
The bird now lay lifeless in the box with glazed eyes holding the expression, why me?

The LORD spoke to my heart...
When the holy spirit dove flies into your heart, do not open a window and let the world come down on it and break it's back. Do not lock it up tight in a box that the lid may slam down upon it's head but hold it near to your heart and feel it's life beating within your hands and never let it depart...

Obviously the work of someone who's self-respect allows for lots of grovelling.

When are you gonna answer those questions, Rex?

I will try to keep this simple for you CI. It is man that uses his free will to follow in the steps of Jesus that ends up in heaven. The sin is erased before you (well, maybe not you) get there. Once you are in heaven, there is no hell for you.

I'll ask again for a response to this.

Now you have the best of both worlds. You can screw up big time and still have salvation, and you can still dip back into the old book to reinforce pet prejudices and bigotry.

Not to say the rest of your post wasn't good......but this comment is spectacular and 100% right on target.

I ask neologist, rexred, real life, and your ilk how you would respond directly to this quote?

Don't bet on that . . .

In Heaven there is no beer
That's why we drink it here
For when we're gone from here
Our friends will be drinking all the beer . . .

But you are left with ci's question:

What happens to "free will."

You religious folks use that "our god gave you free will" stuff to explain so much...and you offer it as though it is the one essential gift your god gives to humans.

So what happens to "free will" when you folks get to heaven?

You seem to equate being in heaven as being there in our natural bodies that we now possess. When you die your body goes back to dust. The body and spirite are separated at death.

Oh, how fun. The spirits of christians all go to heaven, but their bodies are "dust." The spirit doesn't need free will, cause they won't have sex or anything else that's enjoyable. I wonder what those spirits will look like, all invisible. LOL

They used the "they had free will" argument all over the place when Eden was discussed.

And it seemed that the one indispensable gift of their god...was "free will."

Just wondering why "free will" seems to disappear in their Heaven????

Think we will ever get a lucid answer to that?

Ahhhh....so you apparently are arguing that it is our body that has free will...and not our...essence...our spirit...our souls?

C'mon, Intrepid. You can do better than this.

No, he can't! That's the mystery with these christians who can't seem to see their own foolishness in trying to explain their religion, theiir god, and the bible. It still looks like intellectual masterbation to me!

There will be a new body...

Like the one that Christ Jesus had when he was raised from the grave.

Christ Jesus with his new body could change his appearance at will...
He could dart from one place to another in a moments time.

Intrepid is right...

Sin is in the body not the spirit...

Note only the Christians will go to heaven. I wonder what they have in mind for the rest of us? Gas chambers?
And they wonder why all the Christian bashing.

You might ask what do you think the non-christians will do to each other when the light of the world is gone...

The Bible says they will reject liberty and return to law again...
