Sentimental syrupy claptrap for the new citizens of the United Stepfords Of America.....not one word of substance...not one issue addressed.....as I've said over and over again....their only issue, their only platform is safety. We will keep you safe. We will only promise you this because you don't care about your retirement or your childrens education, or the state of the economy or your individual voices, you only care abour being safe.

And I'm afraid it's going to work.

You expect "substance" in political campaign rhetoric? I don't think your expectations will be fulfilled from either candidate. It's all about perception, not substance.

But you might hear some positive spin on W's record and what appear, at least on the surface, to be credible promises from W for his next term when he makes his acceptance speech.

And your fear that the GOP message will work AGAIN (it has in every national and most statehouse elections in this decade) is well founded.

Stay tuned.

I don't fear the message working....I fear the results of the lie of the message.....again, a well founded fear, as we have already seen.....

"So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself -- nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." FDR

Very nice sentiment there...but way off base in this case.....you clearly equate fear to cowardice....exactly what will make you complacently allow a handful of people to take power for the express purpose of advancing themselves and their cronies......and that's their entire, well thought out and executed strategy.....and that's fear working at it's most efficient...all tied up in red white and blue bunting for your consumption....I hope you don't choke on it....

No, bear, I do not equate fear with cowardice. Quite the contrary. Never heard a hero say they were not frightened when doing their heroic deed.

But there is healthy rational fear, and as FDR said, unreasoning fear.

I don't fear what any administration will do in this country because I truly believe the strength of our Constitution, the checks and balances therein, and the laws that are derived from it.

Just my opinion of course.

then you haven't been paying attention to the groundwork that's been laid these past four years. Just my opinion of course.

Of course I have. No administration is stronger than our Constitution and laws...not even the current one.

Yup, can't say it enough nor deny the truth of it if one looks at the continued growth of our Republic through various administrations...liberal, conservative, and even corrupt.

Oh, looky.... Now they'e marching off African Americans via the Harlem Boys Choir. And after Laura's speech, espousing the Lincoln legacy in freeing the slaves, despite the fact of course, that the only way Bush won 4 years ago was to disenfrancshise thousands of African Americans in Florida.

I think I'm gonna throw up now....

Has anyone noticed that the speakers' podiums on stage have a rather fractious, yet obvious, design of the cross? Ah, the subtlies of the Republican party...

Too bad the moderates of the party only get one chance, albeit on night only, to actually participate effectively in their own, non-inclusive neoconservative party.

Geez, just LOOK at all the white people in that audience. The only thing missing are the hoods.

That's why you should do your self a favor and not watch it. I know I couldn't stand it.
