Why do newspapers and other media outlets describe some neighborhoods as working class?

Other than retirement homes, I thought all neighborhoods are working class.

Working class, Joe Sixpack, blue collar, not everyone or everywhere in the USA can be thus described, or hadn't you noticed?

@Tes yeux noirs,
Tes yeux noirs-

Thank you.

I honor the work performed by "blue collar workers," but I think that all the other people who get up each day and perform work to make a living, are working class also.

Well...then you should not use the term "working class" the same way the majority of us do.
