What if they do? What if....what if....what if......the what if's are endless. If we focus on the what if's, we never get to what is. What if pigs can fly?

For least several thousand years those that can best assess the what if's are those that not only win the battles but win the wars. It always been the primary basis of military planning. Your idea if ignoring the what ifs seem to echo Rumsfelt. If pigs could fly we wouldn't need planning for the what ifs. I don't think Rumsfelt can fly either. (I'm willing to give it a try though)

I recommend you read the book, "American Soldier" by General Tommy Franks to get a more objective view of the what-ifing that went on in the Bush adinistration prior to both the Afghanistan and Iraq invasions

I submit nobody who questions the adminsitrative's motives, soul searching, planning, strategy, or what-ifing and who reads it with an open mind will feel the same amount of jugdmentalism about it all once they have read Franks' book.

Reads it with an open mind? My dear Foxfyre, what if that leaves out almost half the US population? Why set so tough a prerquisite? What if those with closed minds read it and it opens one or two? Now that would be real progress! Let's not be greedy!

Some people nominated My bad! as a candidate for 1999 "Word of the Year," an end-of-the-year contest sponsored by the American Dialect Society. It was immediately pointed out that the phrase is over twenty years old. However, it was popularized by the 1995 cult movie Clueless.

US strikes 'wrong' Iraqi target

An American air strike in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul has hit the wrong target, the US military has admitted.

The bomb demolished a house in Aaytha, killing 14 people, according to local officials. The US put the toll at five.

Well, we only had two choices! Which shall it be? The incompetence of the Republicans or the incompetence of the Democrats? Actually that's not really a difficult choice! The Democrats already demonstrated that their incompetence exceeds that of the Republicans because of the way the Democrats dealt with the al Qaeda problem, and their obsessive, neurotic Bush whacking .... Perhaps the Republicans will do better .... They're worth a try!

dys, Ican is gonna throw a bigger, better, party than you! Besides, he's gonna provide all the booze. ** It's such a small price for Iraqi's to pay for their upcoming democracy. After all, didn't we hear over and over that the Iraqi's want us to stay? Some collateral damage is an accepted consequence of gaining their democracy. Look how much American's paid for our democratic republic? ican wants to celebrate Iraq's democracy.

Here's some 'even ifs' for you:
Even if there is some kind of election in Iraq at the end of January, the jihad will continue.
The jihad will continue because it's not about the election, it's about the occupation.
and
this administration has already made it plain that even ifthere is some kind of established, UN-sanctioned government in Iraq, it intends to continue our military presence there ad infinitum.
No Muslim, moderate or otherwise, will accept a major American military presence in a Muslim country, even if Osama bin Laden is found dead, the jihad will continue.

This struggle is not about Muslims hating us for our values, it's about Muslim hating us for our actions.

It's as if no one is reading those fatwas that ican keeps posting.

It's as if they think they are on a mission from God. (They do)
It's as if the Muslims think they are on a mission from Allah. (They do)

What are they are thinking while they are so busy believing?
