Have to tell ya'll.....Even though I got stuck working until 8:30 (and missed dinner), Mom and I had a lovely evening with bigdice and urs. Don't care what you've heard ~ they are a lovely, fun couple.

Mom and bigdice both took a bunch of pictures.....most of them unflattering and sure to be seen here soon.....ohmygawd..... :wink:

I'm hoping they'll be at our house for dinner Thursday night ~ the two of them will be needing a 'kitty' fix by then and I'm sure our cats will oblige.

I am becoming nervous re the SARS situation. I plan on continuing with my flight on Friday, but will watch San Antonio and Seattle re planned flights in the next four months.

Mapleleaf, don't even think of backing out. We're looking at what? 50 deaths worldwide? Compare that to AIDS, TB, Malaria, or influenza and plan on being there, ya hear?

Rae, I've lined up a car at the airport, so you don't need to work out transportation. Someone would have had to take off from work to get me back, and you're both going to be frazzled by then.

I should be in town about lunchtime Saturday. So far, I have gotten about 4 different ways to get there. How will we recognize each other?

I want you to know that I am so excited that I am practically all packed, and could probably leave in an hour's notice!

I'm picking up Letty at 9:00 A.M. Friday morning, so we should be there by 10:00 or 10:30.
Phoenix, maybe we could ask the man at the front desk to point people out who are with our group. BTW, Letty is tall, thin and beautiful with shoulder length blonde hair. I, on the other hand, am short, a little round, with short blonde hair with quite a bit of white mixed in.
Another thought, we should probably leave a message at the front desk if we plan to go out or agree on a set time to meet for dinner, etc.
I haven't packed yet, but could still leave with an hour's notice.

Not quite sure yet if I'll be working on Saturday, but even if I don't work, I'll probably be around to greet everyone.

WARNING! Just a note to make sure all of you know how to identify each other. At the London Gathering, I was at the ye olde Cheshire Cheese early, but spent most of the first half hour looking for everybody else! The Cheshire Cheese has many small cubby holes and restaurants, and it's not the easiest place to find people when you don't know who you're looking for. I finally walked into the small pub in the back, and somebody asked me if I was with A2K. Bingo! Don't want you guys to go through that - unnecessarily. c.i.

The hotel has a lovely restaurant and lounge. How about if we plan to meet in the lounge at a specific time? We can go from there.

I will do my best to get there as soon as I can, but I have to work until 5 pm, then some chores for the Saturday BBQ, etc. So, don't wait for me, just go ahead and drink to your hearts content and I will saunter in eventually.

If ya'll decide to take off for other lands, just leave a message for me at the desk, okay?

c.i.- I had thought about that. What I had wanted to do was to make a slightly larger copy of my avatar, put it in clear plastic, and wear it as a pin.

The problem was, I am not very good with my photo program. Somehow, when I doubled the size of the avatar, it came out almost as large as a whole page, and all pixels. Kinda Interresting though!

I will try again later, when I am awake!
