@Frank Apisa,
Frank, would you say you have no need for a god?

No longer searching?

The agnostics should start a thread for themselves and let the atheists run their own threads.

@edgarblythe,
Aren't there at least 2 kinds of agnostics?

I mean, those who insist that there is no way to determine whether a god exists . . .
compared to . . .
those who may be still searching?

@neologist,
I neither know nor care how many kinds of agnostics there are. It is of no consequence to me.

@neologist,
I certainly have no need for a god...

...and I think a "search for a god" is just asking to sink into delusion.

I am content to acknowledge that I do not know if there is at least one god...or if there are no gods. I am also content to acknowledge that the "evidence" is so ambiguous I cannot use it to make a meaningful guess.

So I just don't.

@edgarblythe,
The atheists here in A2K should stop being crybabies...and recognize that anyone is allowed to make comments in any thread.

Here's the kind of agnostic I am:

I do not know if there is a GOD or if there are gods;
I do not know if there are no gods;
I see no reason to suspect gods CANNOT EXIST;
I see no reason to suspect that gods MUST EXIST...that they are needed to explain existence;
I do not see enough unambiguous evidence upon which to base a meaningful guess in either direction...

...so I don't.

@Frank Apisa,
OK. Allow me to pull your chain for a moment:
. . . .
So you're an agnostic who is a functional atheist.

As compared to an agnostic who is a hopeful deist.

I am??? Where does that come from?

I do not know what that sentence fragment means. But I am willing to discuss my agnosticism with you for as long as it takes for you to understand what kind of agnostic I am.

@Frank Apisa,
OK. You claim that the existence of any god cannot be known
So, you live your life as if there were none.

I'd say that makes you without theism, a functional atheist.

Who says I live my life as if there were none?

I live my life as if there might be a god and there might not.

And where did I say the existence of god cannot be known?

If there is a god...and the god wanted to reveal itself to someone...I see no reason what it couldn't.

What I did say was that logic, reason, and science cannot lead to "there is at least one god" nor to "there are no gods."

@neologist,
I simply live my life, Neo. I walk, talk, play golf, interact with other humans and animals, and discuss things on the Internet.

If there is a god...there is a god.

If there is no god...there is no god.

'Swhy my brother always won.
