I think I do, and don't feel guilty. A lot of "political" things - activism, etc. can be best done at the grass roots or home level. I find most politicians who've been such for a long period to be too ensconced in the status quo to be effective. It's a rare (and usually new) politician that is effective to his/her constituents.

Were you involved in your kids clubs or whatever as they were growing up?

Yes - My son played sports and skiied (raced) so I ran the hut (concession stands) at both the little league field and the little ski slope in the town we lived in. I loved doing that stuff. I think that's part of what I miss - it's not as easy to be involved in their activities, now that they're both teens. I guess I'm just not ready to let go. (I'm feeling really sad tonight - because my little boy started driving today). Just enjoy them while they're still young - for me it seemed like it would last forever and now I've turned around and they're almost all grown up...

What about you?

What about me?I know better than to use kids for my entertainment. That's as bad as Mathos loving trees and plants and certain specifically chosen species of animals.

Surely that's pretty obvious?

Sorry you feel bad, aidan. At least it sounds like you've raised a couple of good kids. Remember the great times you had with them as kids. Do you have pictures you display of them/that? I love being reminded of good times. Just think though, they're growing into adults. Can you imagine them as your contemporaries somewhat? I mean, talking to them, having a mature adult to adult conversation with them about their lives, colleged, careers and so forth? Sorry. Not trying to be 'preachy'. I'm sure I'll feel the same way you do.

Do you like wine?

I love wine! In fact I had a couple of glasses tonight and I think that's what made me all silly and sentimental (that and seeing my son driving a car - I just thought "Where did my little curly-haired boy go?)

I like to talk about everything. I like to talk - probably too much. It's easier to say what I don't like to talk about - stuff like science and really factual, technical stuff - computers, etc.

I wouldn't dream of any such thing.I haven't the faintest idea what advice to give to others.

Don't you think advising others is a trifle-how shall we say-egotistical?
