No-too archaic and archetypal-just doesn't seem realistic to me.

What religion, if any, do you practice?

No. Now that it stays light until 10:00 and gets light again at 4:00 - my inner clock is all out of whack. Besides the fact that I have a lot of energy - need a lot of stimulation- yada, yada, yada...you know the drill. I've always been a nightowl.

What time do you have to get up in the morning?

I don't, lucky me. We own our own business and I am a complete insomniac! I get to make my own hours for the most part.

Are you very much a creature of habit?

In some ways. I eat a peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich almost every day. I also walk my dog at the same time every evening. But I also enjoy spontenaity as well.

Is your business/work in an area in which you have a special talent or skill which you enjoy and challenges you? In other words - do you find your work satisfying?

I did, when I was a lexicographer and EFL writer. Now I'm a brain conditioner, I'm on dicier ground, since I'm not medically trained; however I feel it's work that will help people and as such, is satisfying.

Clary - I've been thinking how much fun that would be too. I'm having company through the beginning of July and then it sounds like you'll be gone for a good part of the beginning through middle of July. Things will settle down for me in August when my daughter will be on vacation from school and I'm not expecting anymore visitors until October. So maybe in August? And we could sit around and play word games, throw in a couple of bottles of wine - I think it would be a blast!

How does that sound to you?

It doesn't sound so good to me.I presume the question is addressed to the next poster but out of politeness I let it stand for a few hours until I realised that it might be blocking up the thread with personal messages of absolutely zero interest to word game movers and shakers.

Does that make me a bastard all over again?

What's all this about a bastard? Of course you're not a bastard and yes you are invited. Clary and I would miss you greatly if you didn't come. Im also going to invite Rod - if it's okay with Clary. He is so funny on that finish my sentence game. I'm thinking the first week in August.

Can you make it?

Early August would be fine. Everyone is invited; this is the true democracy of the internet. Rod is not far away from Bristol, nor am I - but Spendius?

How can anyone in the UK be considered "far" from anyone else in the UK? Did you know the last time I drove to my wife's family it was a 24 hour drive straight through?

How far is Bristol from Uxbridge?

Okay - well you're waiting for me to beg, aren't you?

I am an English gentleman.I would not dream of requiring or even expecting anyone, man, woman or child,to beg anything of me.I would consider such behaviour as very bad taste if not downright unseemly.I try to anticipate the needs of others and attempt to meet them before they are even formulated in thought never mind expressed.

Is that male chauvinism?

No, I call that consideration. Just for the record though, I wouldn't have begged anyway Laughing

Well-I couldn't discount the possibility that they are all complete idiots or even that one might put something unusual in my drink and abduct me or something else.So how could I say whether I would like it or not.I like where I am now and it would seem foolish to me to take a chance on a wasted day or even worse.

Were you not taking any notice last night?
