are you serious btw? Where in the East would you start from? the Very East i.e Lowestoft or Great Yarmouth? know a place for a hearty breakfast in GY to set you right heading SW to Lands End. But not of course in one morning. You would need the morning to get over the breakfast.

I can just imagine the pair of you doing that, Clary in a wet suit, and Aidan in a very sexy basque! Well imagination is allowed to run riot on occasion, surely?
I hope you intend walking across it's broadest section?

The A2K marathon walk for charity on TV and in all the newspapers.
Gee!that could be good if handled with skill and a disregard for Clary's blisters and aidans thigh chaffings. It's only about 400 miles isn't it?

Well it could take as long as we wanted, provided we4had the money for B and B's (don't want to camp or carry anything heavy). More of an amble really. GY would be a good place to start, especially with that breakfast. We might have got to the outskirts by lunch. And I thought to visit Rod in Pembrokeshire, not just boring Land's End.
Anyone else like to do it, now I've got Aidan on/by my side?

Depending on which section we walked, it could be as little as 250 miles from east to west. And by the way - I don't have trouble with my thighs chaffing - they would have to rub together to chaff - and they definitely do not do that when I walk. Just want to set the record straight.
But one walk I really am planning to do is the length of Hadrian's wall - maybe early in the fall. Anyone up for that?

I didn't get the impression that aidan had actually committed herself.
Has anybody got that impression?

I think there is legal testimony to that effect

I'm committed to walking - I do it everyday - it's my favorite way to see things. You see so much more walking than you do when speeding by in a car- (although I do reserve the right not to offer legal testimony to that effect at this time).
The question is - is Clary actually committed?

Yes - affection can put up a very sturdy shelf that will be the bearer of all sorts of wonderful things. The Hadrian's wall walk has B&B's interspersed about every ten miles- which would only mean walking about three to four hours a day followed by a lovely meal and many bottles of wine....I was going to have a friend of mine from America do it with me - or we could start with a small walk.
What sights are you interested in seeing?

Small sights; things usually missed; suburban shops; petrol stations; birds. The trouble with H's Wall which is a good well set-up hike is that it's a good well set-up hike. I fancy walking where nobody usually does.
Have you thought about the weather?

Yeah-but you would both be on TV and millions would see you.So no staggering and crying or any of that other stuff. No lifts when the cameras have gone to the pub. You'll have to get mobile latrines in case a Paula comes on.
That would be best don't you think?

Do you think we need a PR man for this project?

Don't hold your breath. This needs a gestation time.
Shall we all go to the beach instead?

Hey-what's going on?Determined walkers for charity do not get secondthoughtitis.
How could they achieve their astonishing feats of bravery and persistence under trying conditions otherwise?

I'm not always free in July. Ways with Words is on from 8 to 18th, and I must go to that.
Who mentioned charity?

They could do all that later - after they enjoyed the sea and the sun.
