Not an issue with this woman - it just kind of followed naturally with the conversation and provided me with an easy question to ask. You know I struggle with that...coming up with general questions, I mean.
Why are some people so moody?
People get moody when they are dis-satisfied.
Some people use it as an excuse to cover up their own shortfallings.
Do you ever scuba dive?
Talk tomorrow.. take care princess.
What a nice conversation!
I have not SCUBA'd yet though I've always wanted to. I've snorkeled in Panama (the country, not the city in Florida).
How would you say people describe you?
People ususally describe me as being straight-forward and honest yet very kind and compassionate.
What do you consider to be your best/strongest personality trait?
realistic - I face the facts as they are and tackle them head on. I think of the future and not of the past, of reality and not dreaming of what I know is impossible (but never say die!)
What has been the happiest/saddest time of your life? (bit personal, feel free to not answer it)
The happiest time of my life was when I was in college - I was exactly where I wanted to be doing what I wanted to do - again at the birth of my children - and I have to say again, right now. (I've been lucky - lot's of happy times). The saddest time was when my brother committed suicide (but don't feel bad about asking - I'm able to deal with it now with the perspective the years have given me).
What is your most treasured dream for your life?
To be able to...(and this may sound almost simple or childish to some) go to Europe, have a steady academic life, and be happy there forever. hopefully with the special guy I have in mind all the time.
Do you think you are a very strong person? (I do!)
Thanks! Yes, but I also know that I feel compelled to make myself look stronger than I really feel inside for some reason.
Do you have any traits like that? That people might view as one thing when really you are something else, altogether?
I'm a gemini and apparently you can never really see nor know a gemini - two sides of us. So yeah, I like to think that I come out as a strong determined confident person when really, sometimes even the small things in life knock me of my wits - more frequently than I like to think.
How many children do you have?
I have two - a son (l6) and a daughter (l3).
What country in Europe would you most like to visit?
The UK - and London and the best time would be in September. not just because I love the place but because there's someone there I want to see...if i ever find him...
What degree did you do in college?
I did a BA in English and an Master's of Education.
I'm a teacher- and speaking of school I have to go now to get my kiddos up and ready to go...but it's been so nice talking to you - all this verbal sparring with no real info gleaned gets tiring. This has been a refreshing change. Hopefully, we'll talk again...
What degree are you pursuing?
*Pragmatic -
law. And I'll talk to you later too. you sound like a very interesting and intelligent woman and mother.
Uhh, did you want to add something after my name up in your last post?
Man, I feel like I'm interrupting! Hope I see you two online some time! Right now I'm having an attack of insomnia.(It's 3am Eastern time)
What would you do over if you absolutely HAD to and why?
If I had to do something over, I would have traveled more and lived my life a little more fully before I settled down and got married. Although fate has smiled on me, and I'm getting to do it now - for a long time I regretted not being brave enough to go out exploring on my own - and taking the "safe and secure" option instead. But all's well that ends well - I always say.
If you had a daughter - as a man or a woman - what do you think would be the most important thing you could teach her?
Be respectful of others, and also of yourself. I find that many modern girls (in Britain at least) are educated in a selfish, feminist way which often belittles and mocks men. This is not the answer to the war of the sexes!
What would you teach her?
To believe in herself and to recognize her own worth and strength. (Along the lines of what you said).
What trait makes you happiest when you see it in your sons?
* Hi Clary - glad you popped in so I could say hi. I gotta run again, but I hope you're on later this evening!
I like that! Right now I'm working on honesty with my daughter. She has an unfortunate tendency to lie. I'm trying to raise her to be her own self-confidant person.
What is the view like from where you are?
Generosity of spirit
Was going to suggest we met for coffee somewhere today - too late!
What would be the most perfect job to do?
Working in the quick change department at the Folies Bergere.Somebody has to do it otherwise the tourists would have no show to leer at.
Do you think I'm abnormal?
