Anything that makes me laugh. I used to like In Living Color- when Fire Marshall Bill (Jim Carrey) used to do his thing (I mean this was years ago).
At various times with various casts, I liked Saturday Night Live - although I found the reruns that used to be on everday at 6:00 pm more consistently funny (not to mention convenient ) to watch.
I used to LOVE Freaks and Geeks, and I just found a dvd of their entire repertoire in the video store - so I may revisit that.
I liked Scrubs quite alot the first couple of seasons- I think they just got sillier and sillier though-I gave up on them- as actually, Ive given up on tv. I haven't watched tv in years. So I don't even know what might currently be on.

Is there anything you believe is worth spending your time watching on TV these days?

I love documentaries of any kind because on the whole they are factual, travel documentaries in particular fascinate me, because I've done so much travel and yet there so many places I haven't seen.

Would you fancy a trip to the North or South Pole?

I'd be more interested in the south pole than the north pole.

Hey Dutchy - Glad to see you made it back safely from your trip. (Did you get to see your son and grandchildren?)

If you decided to make a study of a subject (say for a documentary) what subject would most strike your interest?

I would love to be present where archaeologists are excavating historical sites. Once during a visit to Germany, some years ago, I visited a 1000 year old battle field they had discovered near the city of Osnabruck. I was just so fascinated by it all that I spent several full days watching their procedures. They did make a documentary of it but unfortunately I never got to see it, as it took many months and I was back in Australia by then.

Have you or would you like to visit Pompeii?

(No, did not see the family on my trip Aidan, travelled to the other side of the country, however they will all be visiting me next Saturday, really looking forward to that).

Laughing Just in time for Thanksgiving (almost) here, anyway...you guys should try a thangsgiving dinner- just to see what all the fuss is about. I could send you a recipe for pumpkin pie..

That's so interesting. If I had to do it all over again, I'd love to be an archeologist...someone was telling me about a man who retired from his job, went back to school and at 68 just got his first job as an archeological assistant on a dig in California, I think it was.

Would you ever think about doing something like that?

No I haven't, I have set myself a different goal in life. I wanted to retire at a certain age and travel the world and the country I live in. As I said before there is more to life than work. Fortunately I was able to achieve my aims, I am a man of simple tastes, and now pursue some of my hobbies, amongst other things researching early Dutch shipwrecks around the coast of Australia. Early this year some of my findings were published in a Dutch Newspaper.

Have you ever read or heard the story of the ship "Batavia", wrecked in 1629 before the West Australian coast? Most of her crew and passengers survived, only to face a horrendous mutiny in which 125 men, women and children were slaughtered while awaiting rescue.
