No there isn't. We left Europe in the bad times and settled down under, something we have never regretted, as this country has provided us with everything we'd ever wanted.
Do American people travel a lot overseas? I ask that because I have hardly ever met Americans in Australia.
From what I hear- not often. I didn't know that because my parents have traveled all over the world- so I grew up thinking that was the norm, but someone here told me that only like 20% of American citizens even have a passport.
What's your view of Americans "in general"- if you feel comfortable so stating?
Not ever having met an American in real life I couldn't give an honest opinion, however the ones I have met on a2k I regard very highly, they all seem very down to earth people and I'm delighted to communicate with them.
That figure of 20% really surprised me, do you think they prefer to travel in their own country which is vast and has lots of diversity?
(Have to go offline now Aidan for a while, nice to talk to you, will catch you another day)
i don't know much about 'preferences' but most Americans i know are more interested in travelling in their own country...all very sensible...like you said: vast and diversity!
Do you think that's logical?
Yes, it is, although the cultural diversity is not great compared with travelling in Asia or Europe.
Is it necessary to travel to broaden the mind, do you think?
It's not neccessary, but it's a much easier way as compared to doing researches etc...
Do you think we should all attempt to do that?
We should all attempt to be sillier today, than we were yesterday, and even sillier tomorrow,.
What is the silliest thing you have ever done or would like to do?
Coming to England and having a wild night on the town with you.
Do you think a silly old Dutchman and a silly old Pom could paint the town red?
i think that's the most interesting 'silly' idea ever!!!
(would love to know the results  )
In your opinion, are all silly things always that amazing or memorable?
Certainly will be when Mathos and Dutchy get together.
Would you like to join us in our night of escapades?
Why not! (If only i can stay away from Mathos

)
Do you often do things like that?
No, not anymore.
What's your own particularly favorite way of "painting the town red"?
Isn't that obvious, booze and wild women.
Like me, do you like opera?
I really don't. I just never developed a taste for it, although I've heard little pieces of opera in movies and such and I think, that's kind of nice, but then when I try to listen to the whole thing- it's just too much for me. But I feel like that's a failing-I feel like if I were more cultured or had a better attention span- I'd like it. I'd probably like the stories if I knew them- I just can't get past the voices.
Is there anything you feel like you should like that you just don't?
Tony Blair and George Bush, but I don't think there is any simple solution to my problem.
Would hypnotism help would you think?
I can't be hypnotized, experts have tried but Dutchy is his own man.
Do you think we live better today then say, 25 years ago?
Now why should you like them? I'd be worried about you if you did like them.
I've heard hypnotism can be very effective, but you have to have a particular mindset or personality to be receptive enough for it to work.
Have you ever been hypnotized?
Only when I stare into the vacuum of your eyes.
What is your command?
Dutchy- I don't think I'd be a very compliant subject for hypnosis either.
I like life 25 years ago as opposed to now.
Mathos- vacuum eyes, huh? Now that's a really nice image.
I'm in command of myself, that's about it. What do you feel in command of?
( Aidan.Young Lady; a hypnotised person only sees a vacuum in the hypnotists eyes)
I'm boss of The Argonauts!
Didn't you know that?
