Funny you should ask! I had a really nice rib eye- grilled- I marinated it with barbecue sauce mixed with worcestershire sauce. I quartered some new potatoes (skin on) and actually microwaved them with a little bit of olive oil, butter, salt and pepper and they came out great!
And then I added a nice green salad.

I do use the grill for steaks, but I have to say, for fish and chicken I prefer the oven as it seems to cook them without drying them out. Or maybe I'm just not a very proficient griller.

What has been your experience with the grill versus the broiler in your oven?

I have to agree with you on that one Mathos.

What would happen if Gus and Spendi would ever meet? Laughing

Call me crazy- but I have a feeling they have.

Who would you really like to meet here on A2k?

I wouldn't dare call you crazy Aidan, but I would like to meet Mathos in person and I'm sure we would hit it off and have a 'crazy' time together. Laughing

Have you ever met anybody from a2k in real life?

No. But I'd love to meet- in no particular order of preference- You, Mathos, Spendius, Endy, Om-Sig David, Edgar Blythe, Carlotta...and I'm sure there are others I'm just not thinking of right now. But if there was a big A2k blow-out- hell yeah- I'd show up- just out of curiosity.

You hit the nail on the head Dutchy - most women are very curious.

Do you have certain people in your life with whom you find it really fun to get crazy with?

That's an interesting list you submitted Aidan, and I'm sure there is life outside a2k, even if Try doubts it. Smile Yes, I have long time buddies with whom I have good times. We attend the big football games together and live it up afterwards, now we're older things are not as wild as in our younger days but we still have great time together, here it is called "mateship".

Do you let your hair down every now and then?

Me! Well, I'm naturally flattered, but that would depend; how crazy you think I am?

Yes Dutchy. In fact, those who know me well, would probably use the work "funloving" first and foremost to describe me.

What is your most obvious or outstanding personality characteristic?

I got the blues thinking of the future, so I left off and made some marmalade. Is that what everyone should do? Laughing

Well, maybe not marmalade- maybe like strawberry preserves and peach and pear so we could have some variety.

What do you think everyone should do that might make the world a better place?

How about appreciating what we have rather than what we think we want?

Gee Aidan you put me on the spot here, modesty forbid me to elaborate but let me say "loyalty" means a lot to me. Can I leave it at that?

Are you permanently living in the UK or moving back to the US one day?

Actually, sadly for me, as I would stay here forever if I could, I am moving back to the US in August. My parents are experiencing health issues, and I miss them desperately as it is- but as they are not young and healthy, I've decided I want to be closer to them for the next few years.

But I have my National Insurance Number- I have the promise of a job whenever I want it- I have a lot of great friends- so I'm sure one day I'll be back- because it feels like home in a way that the US never has to me.

Are you into blind loyalty- or rational, enlightened loyalty?

I do not know the distinguishing differences you ask about, but to me loyalty means simply, a feeling of devotion, duty and attachment to my family and friends.

How is it possible for an American citizen to work in the UK, whereas people from Australia can't get a work permit, unless a parent is a former UK citizen?

I think it has something to do with having a needed skill...if you have a skill that they need, they'll hire you to work. I'm working in an arena in which there aren't people lined up to help out- I'll put it that way- and I have good credentials and fairly extensive experience in my field.

Is there any other country you've ever dreamed of living/working in?
