Yes, very close. (I posted a bit in the Aus. section on the fires, if you're interested) I have lived away from the water but I keep coming back - the primal urge in reverse?

What gives you greatest joy?

Lots of things - joyful anticipation is probably the keenest emotion. The joy of arriving somewhere new in the afternoon, which is surpassed only by the joy of hitting the road the next morning. Truthfully, my sons, wider family and friends give me the most lasting joy.

And you?

Because they don't know what's good for them! Welcome, white violet my dear!

I should pass on your question to someone else, who knows, a man may answer!?!

Hello, Clary!

(Sorry, a bit like the Two Ronnies sketch, I answered a previous question as I was distracted by the news!)

Ok, another question. What's the funniest name you have ever heard? (I work in a prison and some choose the most hilarious aliases!)

Heironymous Bosch. Most intriguing would be Capability Brown.

What about you?

I much prefer a long, hot soak in the bath.It provides me with the perfect ambience to meditate upon matters above the ordinary, mundane things of the daily shitealanche,it opens up my pores I have read,so I suppose it's true, and it puts a fine edge on my thirst so that I enjoy the beer all the more in the pub.I do so think one has a duty to oneself to refine one's simple pleasures.I think that those who take showers must have lots of complicated pleasures and so might not have any simple pleasures left to refine. They would probably have no mental energy left for meditation anyway.

Do you not agree?

Yes. So much more satisfying than texting. (Sorry, I just couldn't resist that.) Regarding your earlier post Spendy, I once read that the Chinese thought westerners were disgusting because they liked to wallow in their own filth. I've never been able to enjoy a bath since.

Just at the moment, Terry Pratchett, but it changes. Douglas Adams, Ian McEwan, Ursula le Guin, Maeve Binchy all have their place in my collection.
