No bookie in his right mind would take a bet like that.

I remember once opening a chestnut that had fallen off a tree in a wind of it's own accord.I was gobsmacked at the sheer beauty of it.The scientists, who I approve of,with all their computers could never make one of them while ever they have a hole in their ass.I'm not confident they would even know where to start.

Did you know that we Brits call them "Conkers"?

That is really cool.

What do you call "conkers", computers or the scientists?

Do you believe that every time of year has its compensations?

It does for some and not for others.

All the intensive care units are full all year round so for those in them every time of year has tribulations and with approx 650,000 pegging out every year there's about 1,800 who find every day a bit of a trial.

On the other hand there's scratch card winners every day who probably feel compensated but I don't know how many.

Have you ever had a good win on something?

Well, it's good to know another British word! I should have known it was the chestnuts! It's an appropriate nickname to be sure!

No, I've never won anything really great, especially financially. Have you? While it would be great, I just don't put my faith or money into such things as the lottery.

Life can be a gamble Dev's, the odd quid or two here and there, you never know. If you ain't spinning, you ain't winning.

Would you gamble on anything?

I've played the slots here and there. Unfortunately dinero is a little tight aroung here, but if you want to throw a few (grand...) over this way, I might gamble with it!
That could be a deep philosophical question, couldn't it?
What, if anything, have you gambled on?

I guess I did!

Life is fine. It's a beautiful crisp fall day. Got some yard work done & relaxed a bit. I'm doing a bit of "catch-up" work right now. A2k always keeps it from being too boring.

What are you doing today? Anything interesting in your neck of the woods / town or pub?

The normal things men usually have a flutter with, horses, football and boxing matches, seduction of the female sex. It's ok if you break even. There can be excitement in gambling. Stocks and shares, investments of any kind are a gamble. Will it rain, snow, or blow dry. The list is endless.

It could be an extremely deep philosophical conundrum Dev's. Now if I were to throw a few grand about, I would expect some beneficial reflections, does that appear to be gambling even?

"Beneficial reflections", whatever could you mean by that?!
Yeah, life is a gamble. If it isn't, it'd be pretty boring! Is gambling something you do for fun?

Outside of work, everything I do is for fun Dev's.

If you take life too seriously, your wrinkles will droop, I would sooner see them going up.

Amen! Work should be fun too, Mathos, if you do what you love. I love raising my kids, but I'll get back to work in the future. Hey! You didn't ask a question!

So, how much fun DO you have? Or what is fun to you?

Hey Kitty, I'll second the motorcycling, ever tried a BSA Rocket or Gold Star?

Then again scuba diving is great fun, white water rafting, anything that raises the pulse rate is fun, Spendius wants to sleep along with cricket. Must be a bye.

But best fun of all is the female, in all her glory, nothing can can compare.

How say ye Spendius?

I can't answer for Spendius because I've realized that "alas, I hardly knew ye" ( although we used to be dear friends) but yeah, I'd say the female of the species is good fun when she's at her most intuitive and wisest, but being a female myself, I have to admit I've had the most fun with males- so I wouldn't say that nothing can compare.

What game have you personally had the most fun playing?
