Lost in Space is the name - I liked it, but its up to you. Lighthouse Family deals with so many different types of emotions of a person - its up to you to try each one. But definetly listen to Lost in Space when you get the chance. I envy you in the UK - I've checked around the music shops here and none of them stock Lighthouse Family. The CD my freind gave me was in 1997! Oh well, glad you enjoy it there.

Have you tried to skip work before just because you didn't want to go?

Of course, on occasion. I'd just call in and say I was taking a personal day. Have you tried Amazon to see if they stock their CD's? Let me know if you need me to burn you a copy - of course then you'd have to give me your address so I could mail it - but you could trust me not to turn into a stalker or anything. Don't worry about that - I don't have time to follow people around like some folks do. Just let me know.

Are you allowed personal days in your job?

*I don't want to be a bad influence. I've gotta go myself to get stuff going here (don't want to be too specific you know) so I'll say see ya for now. Talk to you later.

I am because I decide.

Have you heard about the heatwave our friends are enduring in the US?

Yes, and this morning it is already quite hot. Not so here
on the coast but inland will go up to 115 F today. Since I work inland, I guess I better dress accordingly. At the coast
it is only 74 F now.

We'll manage, will we?

Yes Cal-you will manage.

Have you seen Steve's latest posts on Politics (One Event Changes Attitudes in UK-how strange.)?

I was in Iraq once at this time of year.It was 128.

How would you fancy that in full protective kit?

I have seen the thread but not read it. I cannot imagine
128 F and wearing full gear. My heart goes out to all
the soldiers there (regardless of their nationality) and I
do hope that all this senseless nonsens will come to an
end rather sooner than later.

I don't like extreme heat/cold. Do you?

No.I like a nice equable environment.

CBS last night said you were all gasping.

Is that right?

Haha, I guess CBS must know. It wasn't here at the coast,
but I probably will be in about 20 minutes, when I am
leaving my airconditioned car and will walk into my office,
that is also airconditioned (thank goodness).

In general, people do have aircondition in the hot, muggy
areas. I don't! I'm too close to the ocean and always have
a cool breeze, but with all the global warming, who knows,
I might need one in the near future.....

Do you have aircondition?

No.Very few have it here.It is hardly necessary.Unless you count central heating of course. We nearly all have that.

Do you have cold winters in SC?

No, we don't - but we do have central heating, and I for one
use it in the winter, in addition to the fireplace. I guess,
we're cold rather easily.

How's your day so far?

Sosouno.

Made a few quid, had a few laughs, done a few posts, saw an odd thing which might interest you.

I saw a dog at somebody's place that had just come back from a wash and brush up with hair cut and pedicure included. It was spark out.And it's an excitable barker and jumper up.So I mentioned it.I thought it was ill. That's when I found out where it had been.So being a scientist of the extreme nerdy type I asked if that always happened and was told it did. This interested me because donkey's years ago I gave up having my hair cut when I noticed a correlation between that activity and the one degree under state. Each hair cut is only a small wound but thousands add up.

Did you know that San Diego is roughly at the same latitude as Baghdad?

Really, almos same latitude? Hm, but we're of course more
fortunate here, in more than one way.

Your story reminds me that our dog Max will have a grooming due this Friday. We have these mobile groomers
coming to the house with their little carts that are equipped
with all the necessary tools. They only need water and
electricity from me, everything else they supply. Usually,
an hour later, Max will emerge like a new pup.

You gave up haircuts years ago? How long is your hair now?

Not so long.I have black matty hair and being so curly as it is it forms into lugs,a tight mass of curls so to speak, and falls off.Actually they don't fall off because when they are hanging on with just a few threads I chop them off.Hack them out sometimes.
I've been told things about them you wouldn't believe.

You can't get nerdier than that can you?

Haha, I am just making myself a picture of you, or better
I have to redefine my picture of you. So, you're the
male version of Angela Davis in her hey days. Laughing

Gosh it is hot indeed today. I just came home and it
is unbearable, even here....

What do they say about your hair?

I can't really answer that because I would be betraying confidences.

The heat's unbearable is it?Imagine 128 kitted out.

Was Ms Davis a fine specimen of the other side of it?

Hehe, here is a picure of her (to the far left)
http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/45a/048.html

It is around 96 F here at the beach, but dry heat,
so it's not as bad. Plus I have the ventilator sitting right
in front of me - blowing away.

So, is your hair anything like Angela's?

No, as I am caucasian, my hair is quite different than Angela Davis' was - especially in her heyday when her afro was huge. Spendi's hair sounds like my brother-in-laws. He has very dark ringlets -but he keeps it really short because when it does get longer it's very unmanageable.

Is the heat wave just on the west coast or does it extend into other areas of the country? I haven't been reading US papers and haven't called home in a while to ask.

I would have to get my books out to answer that nerdilyly scientifically but if you mean "like" in the ordinary,everyday,common-sense sense of the word the answer is no!

May I now depart to the beer teet?

What is a beer teet - and how is that question nerdily scientific in any way.

Hey you do what you gotta do - you gotta depart somewhere - go ahead and depart. Capiche?
