What I make of it? aiden is a saint, plus she is better equipped to handle difficult children, she's a teacher - so naturally she loves you too, or should I say: despite!

Satisified with my answer?

No-not really.I was only giving an example from today's experience of how the L-word is used in some cases. The mention of it had that as its sole purpose. This opens up a spectrum of meaning of the word.Once you have the spectrum,as I have had for years, you have possibilities for serious discussion. As opposed to assertions.

It wouldn't be a breach of your friendship for you to ask the psychologist what he thinks. It is in the way of being a literary query.

It would be wouldn't it?

I think, everyone gets the wider spectrum of love, no
need for serious discussions, as some things cannot be
explained rationally anyways.

It wouldn't be a breach of friendship to ask my friends
for professional advise, but I know them on a different
level and I happen to think, that an independent source
would be a better choice to make an educated assumption as opposed to someone who is emotionally involved and
my friend. I might be wrong, but that's how I feel.

So you're ready to go?

Wow! Did I get canonized tonight? I must have missed it when I was on the phone with my mother. Was it a nice service? Was it the Pope himself who bestowed my sainthood upon me? But how will that work since I'm not Catholic?
No saints here - although I am drawn to difficult children and do work well with them and usually do come to love them.
Spendius - I love the way you make me laugh - I am drawn to your intelligence, and it's fun hanging out with you. All of that adds up to fondness and a sense of caring which I call love. I love a lot of people- don't you?

I love everyone with a pulse, really.
I think I passed your house the other day, Aiden, on the way down to Lyme Regis. I noticed a lot of loving going on in the area. No wonder, in that beautiful part of the world.

Would you ever want to move from there?

If she didn't realise, your worship, just how fortunate she is to have landed up where she has.
She must have deserved it in some way.

It might be a new brain drain.

Do you think it's a new brain drain?

aidan-

Don't worry about not being a Catholic. If the Pope says you are a saint then you are a saint. She's infallible isn't she?She says I'm grumpy too.

New story. The Grumpy and the Saint.

Calamity Jane - just fooling around with you Laughing - actually I get told that I must be a saint all the time by the parents of the kids I work with who know what little "you know whats" their kids can be - they say - "You must be a saint to be able to put up with so-and-so all day long and come back again the next day". The funny thing is, I actually enjoy it - so I must be peculiar too. Sometimes, though, it does make me really grumpy as well. But, I'm never infallible.

Yeah, Lord Ellpus - it probably was my house you passed. It's just a big old love fest around here. You probably saw it spilling out of the doors and windows and into the front yard, and that's how you recognized it as my place. Fancy recognizing it just from that - you must have a special talent.....(other than taking a spanking well). Laughing

Spendius - don't know about any brain drain. My own brain is kind of drained tonight - but that happens on occasion - you know...can I be forgiven for that. Anyway - LOVE you all - talk to you later - Aidan

They're gonna have to drag me out of here feet first to get me to leave this place. It is beautiful and I do love it. I've heard of Lyme Regis - but I don't think it's around where I live - at least I've never driven through it. Maybe you don't have a special talent....

That's easy.It's dead objective.

Neurology is impossible. It's easier subjectivised though.

And travel writing is just making a mountain out of a worm cast.

Does that qualify as grumpy?

I'm not talking to you if you're gonna be all sulky again. Where's that "stiff upper lip" I keep hearing about in you Brits? You need to pull your shi*t together and get in a good mood. Listen to that song I told you about yesterday ...that will help. Hope to see you with a big smile on your face later on...

When you're in a bad mood, what do you do to help yourself feel better?

I'm never in a bad mood. It's all a figment of your imaginations.

If I was all the things I've been said to be I'd throw myself in the river but with my luck there'd be a damned virginal damsel in the current and I would have to bring my skills into play and off I would go again.

Laughing Laughing There's the old Spendi I LOVE. See, I'm an American that can say it without wanting to get married, etc., etc. (I read that thread). My own opinon is that it depends more on the person than the person's nationality. My parents said it and expressed it often - so it's not like jumping off a cliff or anything for me to admit that certain people just make my heart warm, and to be able to tell them that.

You know what I mean?

*Thanks for your kind words about my writing. That warmed my heart bigtime.

I know what you mean but I'm not too sure you do.

The fact is that the caring professions are absolutely and utterly dependent on the wealth creation industries and the knowledge extension professions. Those who work in the latter, the supply side, are equally dedicated to the well being of society and what they work with, sometimes referred to as the intransigent material, does not bend to assertions and subjectivity.

There can arrive a point where the caring professions seek,by words alone,to claim all the credit for the good work that is done and this is self-evidently not the case.To label those who speak up for the supply side, and it is usually only whispered,as in my case, grumpy, is not realistic and not only that it is far too easy.

And a good writer needs to be realistic. To be otherwise is a weakness.

What thread?

Having just gone to a talk by Julian Barnes I thought I ought to read another one of his books. Then I also went to Penelope Lively which made me think I ought to be writing something. I shall read her book 'Making It Up' about fiction writing.

have you?
