Have a VERY large family--lost one brother and Mother in past 20 months, and I have a dear brother on his way to the hospital as I write, for emergency surgery -
I have three adult children (one deceased made 4)
and four grandchildren (by blood, more by step)

Flying to me, Calamity Jane, is very uncomfortable- both to my ears and nerves. The hum and noise gets to be unbearable, and if I had to make a LONG flight, I believe I would have a stroke (or take a powerful tranquilizer)
But there are times when getting from A to B- the best way to go is to fly.
I don't really 'fear' it, I just do not care for it much, nor trains-- but buses are OK, with regular stops.

Do you like to visit other continents?

I agree ollady, flying is very uncomfortable these days
and the food is lousy as well. I do like to travel to other
continents but mostly I end up in Europe.

Have you been outside of the United States?

Nope, unless you count almost being carried out to sea when I was swimming once-- in the gulf Embarrassed Rescued by a lifeguard and my brother in law.

Does it feel very different, being on distant soil?

(I think spendius went back to bed to get up on the right side  )

Laughing

I've been to Canada, Mexico, El Salvador & Panama. Would love to travel Europe, but never really got the chance.
It's a bit different, and then again the same! You KNOW you're away from home when you hear a foreign language! My Spanish is good, not great.

What about you Jane, et.al...? Where have you been?

That's how you sound today spendius (in reading your previous posts). You remind my of "Grumpy" from the
fairy tale with the 7 dwarfs. Was it snow white?

devriesj, I've been to Europe (obviously), Asia, North Africa,
and central America. I'm missing South America and
Australia.

ollady, the only time I felt different, was in Asia. I'm rather tall and stood out among all the Asians. I became quite
selfconscious all of a sudden, but other than that, it's not
so different.

If you could, where would you like to go?

Yes, I have, and I'm contemplating coffee now, otherwise I would need a short nap.

Do you like to nap?

Yes, but only today, as I run out of cream. Usually I just
have cream in it.

Have you read the "L-word thread"? How do the
British handle that subject? Just like the Americans?

Trivial is not quite the right word.
Some of us happen to know something of the psychology and it isn't a pretty sight.
You could always check it out with a psychologist if you think I'm being awkward or something.

Are any of your nerdies psychologists?

Yes, one of my dear friend is a psychiatrist. He started out
studying theology and bekame a shrink afterwards.
Yet, I never ask him for advise nor would I ever want to.
Just like I never would see a physician that is a friend.

You know what I mean?
