@roger,
I guess we will find out. The story's been out there, it has been reported some of her emails turned out to have been classified and though she went down some in the polls and people think she is not too trustworthy, she remains ahead in all the polls even against republican candidates. Unless something just earthshattering comes up on her thumb drive, I think in the end, she will come through it all.

@revelette2,
The D's better hope Hillary has a political life after we found out that she put the nations secrets at risk by routing her email through a server in her house rather than the governments secure servers , since they refused to allow the people other options.

@revelette2,
My problem with Bernie is exactly opposite. I consider him entirely trustworthy, in that he's honest and represents himself exactly as he is. By now, you should understand that he's way to liberal for me. If I were a registered Democrat, I would take him over Clinton in a heartbeat in the primaries. I might even take him in the general election, but that's a long ways away.

@roger,
But since your not a democrat you will vote for Bush who you hope is running against someone other than Clinton.

@RABEL222,
I assume you are talking about the general election. Right? I will not be voting for Clinton. Nor would I vote for Trump. I'm hoping I understood your statement.

I imagine you did.

I am a registered Independent...

...and I am hoping that the Republicans eventually choose Trump and Cruz as their ticket. Don't care in which order.

For the same reason you understood what Rabel was saying.

@Frank Apisa,
I wouldn't be able to vote that ticket, but still couldn't go for Clinton. I'm really hoping it won't shape up that way.

I could be wrong but I think we're about to see a change in American politics. This Trump and Sanders thing is a very big swipe at the status quo.

I AM concerned about the people who consider Trump a viable presidential candidate, but I also hold out the possibility when they begin to imagine him with the power of the Oval, they'll look around for a more suitable choice.

Then, I hope when they discover there's not one, the GOP will fade away or adapt to the changing country. The information in the polls ehBeth brought sort of portend a sea change in the US electorate - and to me - the current GOP as they are cannot win elections into the future.

I think this spells a step or two left for the country and an end to the GOP as it currently stands.

The ONLY issue is the power on the stage H/L are traditionally conservative in some areas - not traditionally socially liberal - but have enormous immigration issues. Wonder how that will play. It might define the personality of the new GOP.

"journalists" say that constantly. What they miss is that the right is increasingly giving up on government, that they are becoming more libertarian, hey are not becoming more liberal. The GOP is going to have to change its position on Illegal Mexicans, and then they will go after hispanic and Asian votes. THey are not likely to do this till they start losing the majority of elections, and lately they have been winning the majority of elections.

I am not sure that Trump is a worse choice than Hillary. We need to send someone up against the Chinese and Putin, why not Trump? Hillary was Sec State for Cripes sake, and look at how poorly that turned out.....both are now directly challenging the USA and the West. Who running this time knows more about winning economically than Trump does? And who running this time has the capacity to inspire the nation in anything other than more victimhood, which we have pretty much OD'ed on? Trump has the ability to be a Ronnie Reagan figure, and as fearful and despondent as we have become that might be exactly what we need. I still dont think that Trump wants the job, and I dont think he has the answer yet on how he would go about getting the estrogen vote, but who knows.

EDIT: I am not saying that Trump is worthy of the job, but he might well be the best of the lot of those seeking the job.

@roger,
I understand he is too liberal for you. I agree him on more issues than I disagree with him about. On those issues I do disagree with about is because I don't see those issues ever passing congress such a $15 hour minimum wage, though it would be great if it would. Logically I don't see how we could afford that minimum wage and still afford the health care we have now with coming seniors and all. Also he might be a little too pacifist, I would have to do more reading to find out for sure. He talks and does a lot for soldiers which is a very good thing, but he doesn't talk much about foreign affairs that I have heard. I also disagree with him about the spying issues. I think better laws needs to be passed and I think they worked on that but more needs to done and I think the bulk data needs to be done away with as it has been reported to not work too good, but other than that, I see spying as necessary and better than chasing terrorist all over the place without any information for where they are or what they are going to do. For those reasons I would have to go with Hillary or if Biden runs; Biden. No offense but I would never vote conservative as I disagree with them on about everything. I guess in the end I am more of a centrist on some issues than I always thought I was.

Sorry for kinda rambling, just explaining why I am not as excited about Bernie Sanders as some other are. For me it is not a matter of electibilty or not, but a few issue I disagree about.

Regarding Clinton and the emails, there is a lot of disinformation out there making email thing worse than it is. (so far, we have see what comes up on the thumb drive) The following is clearly a liberal site, but, it has links to follow up on.

TO ANYONE THINKING THERE IS A SEA CHANGE COMING TO THE AMERICAN ELECTORATE:

I have this exceptionally beautiful bridge for sale. I can make a deal on it that you will love. Just get in touch.

TO EVERYONE WHO REALIZES HOW ABSURD THAT IDEA IS:

Just sticking to the conservative Republicans...I estimate that 95% of all the conservative Republicans running for re-election to national office...will be re-elected.

Almost that high a percentage of liberal Democrats running for re-election will also.

There is no change coming.

There are zealots who will back Donald Trump to the end...and the end will come.

There also are zealots who will back Bernie Sanders to the end...and the end will come.

Trying to reason with zealots is like trying to teach quantum physics to a badger.

@Frank Apisa,
I'll bet you the number this election cycle will be closer to 60% of incumbents being re-elected - 60-70%.

I'll bet you a jar of locally produced bread and butter jalapinos against anything $20 or less locally produced in New York I' closer at 60% than you are at 95%.

We've had 'sea change' elections before, as recently as 2010 Congressional elections.

Republicans Sweep the House

Two years after the historic election of Barack Obama, Republicans rebounded Tuesday night and gained control of the House of Representatives with a dominant showing in the 2010 midterm elections. A lethal combination of voter anxiety, a still-weak economy, anger at the president's health care reform bill and a surging tea party movement combined to sweep the Democrats out of power just four years after they had taken control of the chamber.

Republicans needed to win 39 of the Democrats' 255 seats to take back the House, and by Wednesday morning they had won at least 60, with most coming in districts held by moderate Democrats who have strained to distance themselves from their party in recent months. Those same districts held the keys to victory for the Democrats four years ago, when the party swept into power with a pickup of 31 seats. The last Republican takeover of the chamber came with the 1994 Republican Revolution, when the GOP won 52 seats, eight fewer than Tuesday night.........

@bobsal u1553115,
Okay...I have a friend (gorgeous friend, I might add) who makes jellies and jams...and I look for occasions to buy stuff from her. (Nancy always comes along...and Holly is more Nancy's friend than mine.)

You have 60% and I have 95%.

To make it easy...we will limit it to the House and Senate...all incumbents running...and we will determine the percentages. If 60% is closer...you win; if 95% is closer...I win.

$20 worth of jellies and jams on my part...and an equal amount of produce or whatever on yours. Bread and butter jalapinos work fine...because I make heroes at least once a week.

You are going to have to remind me of this bet in November 2016.

@Frank Apisa,
Your on. Your terms are reasonable and eminently fair. I think the Congressional elections are far more important than which Democrat gets to be President. I back Bernie but in my heart I still think Hillary's at 2:1 and Bernie's at 1:3. The odds are still sporting.

My biggest fear is Clinton vs Bush which I think would kill turnout.

@izzythepush,
"Bread and butter" pickles and peppers are very, very popular among the hero addict segment of the American public.

Sweeter than Kosher.

Yum, yum.

@izzythepush,
We have a style of sweet pickles called 'Bread and Butter pickles', in the Texas Hill Country we pickle jalapino's the same way so they are sweet at first bite and hot on the finish and go very well with BBQ pork.
