I find it interesting whenever a law or laws are unreasonable such as ending up being used to harm the very people they was suppose to protect as in charging teenagers for the "crime" of creating and sharing pictures with their boyfriends and girlfriends for example.

I think, as your UK law makers think, that the case of an infant or a very young child in not the same as a 16 or 17 years old taking pictures of him or herself or allowing those pictures to be taken.

If you are trying to claims that any male for example that it turn on by the body of a fully sexually mature 16 or 17 years old female is a pedophile then most men are pedophiles.

Sixteen or seventeen teenagers that can legally enter into sexual relationships in most US states and even married are not child as used in the term child porn.

As I said over and over I have no real problem with having punishment for having underage pictures otherwise just not the silliness in the US that all pictures no matter if they are of a 17 years old or an infant being rape call for a minimum of 5 years under federal sentencing guidelines. Guidelines that the majority of Federal judges have problems with.

In the UK the likely outcome of having a near legal picture would be a police warning not a ruin life and serous jail time is called for only for the worst of the worst.
