No, it's Dessous-en-Ligne.

Edit: sorry, the black and white photo is from Vieux Lingerie

The French are just Italians in a bad mood.

@Olivier5,
Love it. That might be a new signature line for me, except that would be obnoxious. I've only been over France in an airplane looking down on snow.
I've read bunches about it over decades but retain impressions, like snap shots.

@ossobuco,
I like it too. It's a joke of course but with a grain of truth.

Here's a very angry Frenchman's take on the OP. The song dates back to 75 and was banned on public radio for a while.

Renaud's voice is not what it used to be, and the English translation is downright horrendous but just to give an idea:

Some explanations for the lyrics, if anyone cares:

@Olivier5,
Haven't looked yet, did like the Renaud you posted on Letty 's thread.

I still read it. Don't like not being able to address others. You seem to be able to get away with it without remonstrance.

They gave up on me, I guess.

But if you can speak Nissart, it's the same Wink

@Walter Hinteler,
Well, Nice was an Italian city forever, i think. More broadly, provençal is close to some italian dialects. Vice versa, people from the Italian piedmont speak Italian with what sounds like a heavy French accent, eg with guttural 'r'.

@Tes yeux noirs,
Thanks, checked it on wiki and it's interesting indeed as a sort of link between the two languages.

I like the fact that some in Val d'Aoste still use "goupil" for "fox"... "Renard", as you may know, was once a first name (from German Reinhardt=strong counsel). Its use in the medieval Roman de Renard as the name of the fox character led to its current meaning and the disapearance of goupil (which was similar to Italian: volpe).

@Olivier5,
Renart and his friends Tibert, Noble, Tardif and Isengrin. I found the Roman de Renart in a library translated into English when I was a boy.

@Tes yeux noirs,
And suddenly I remember that text again Maître Corbeau, sur un arbre perché, tenait en son bec un fromage …

You know, I have not thought of Renart for 50 years!
