I couldn't get a job as a chef in a Chinese restaurant once with 50 dishes on the menu in Chinese.
That was In Tucson Arizona...
Language can be a barrier sometimes, If you want to be an international importer/exporter good luck with bartering and interpreting international trade policies while not knowing foreign languages.
Also, if you would like to be hired as an interpreter good luck with that too.
I would not hire you if you spoke 100 languages fluently.
Not because you are not qualified but because you act like a jerk... Consider it may not necessarily have been your language skills but rather your social skills.
You can blame language skill but I blame your rotten attitude...
