It turns out that Future 45 is an outfit almost exclusively financed by Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, who own a Las Vegas casino and are big, BIG Republican honchos. During the GOP nomination process, Republican presidential candidates travel to Las Vegas to pay tribute to Miriam and Sheldon Adelson and receive their blessing, which goes a long, long way toward getting the Republican nomination. A few years ago Newt Gingrich was running for president, was not doing well, and was almost out of the race until Sheldon Adelson gave Newt a big donation. That one donation allowed Newt to do well in several primaries after that and kept him in the race for a long time after he would be otherwise finished. That established the Adelsons as Republican kingmakers.
