@Blickers,
Quote:Really? Did the Koch Bros support her?
Impressive, you found 2 people on the wealthiest persons list who didn't support here. The other top 10, minus the guys from Spain and Mexico, sure as hell did. Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Larry Ellison, Michael Bloomberg, So you got 2 of the richest guys in the world who didn't back her...
Quote:You are a typical example of early 21st century man whose mind is controlled by celebrity worship.
Not even close, I can't stand celebrities as a majority of their lifestyles and political beliefs are left of center. It's your side of the political with all the lemmings that suffer from celebrity worship.
Quote:Yes, a few rich stars are left leaning,
A few rich stars? How deep in the sand in your head, a majority of the hollywood elite are indeed left leaning wacko's and have only supported members of the DNC and their left wing ideology do you not remember the massive hollywood meltdown after the election. How many entertainment stars have supported right leaning candidates in the last few elections?
Quote:but in the past 35 years unions have grown weak and we still don't have universal health care to match the rest of the developed world.
People have chosen to leave unions over the last several decades, people were figuring out that the unions were only interested in their own needs, and not the needs of the people.
I hope we never have Universal Health Care, it will ruin our already troubled healthcare system. Colorado which had a shot in the 2016 election voted against it by over 60%, and this is a state that went for Obama and Hillary in the last 3 Prez election cycles, it isn't as popular as you think it is.
Quote:We used to be rated high for standard of living among even the most developed nations-now we are in the lower fringe of the top rank, just ahead of the newly free Eastern European nations.
I guess in the US, it depends on who you ask and where they live. The US usually doesn't fare as well on these "rankings" because we don't have enough socialism in the mix. If only we could add more control from the govt over our way of life, we would only be happier.
Quote:That's not the work of leftists-the "lefty" Western European nations US conservatives are aghast at have passed the US in standard of living. But that's okay-a few Hollywood stars and a handful of industrialists lean left, and that's all you need to be convinced the Right has not been in charge.
This makes no sense and you refuse to see the truth about which side the 1% actually votes with. Reread the list I posted above and then get back to me.
Quote:By the way, whatever happened to free college?
The only people really looking for free college are you leftists. The rest of us understand how things work and realize there is nothing for free and someone always pays for it. I would think someone of your age would understand that basic concept by now.
Quote:If the top 1% really was left-leaning, that would have been in place a generation ago.
Yes, the 1% leans left and you can't disprove that they don't, the list I have provided should be obvious.
If the 1% really wanted free college, they would pool their resources and make it happen, but they won't because they know it would be a waste of money. They might be leftists, but they are rich because they don't throw money away at bad ideas.
Quote:You're talking uneducated nonsense. It doesn't matter how many people strive to get into the top 1% of wealth, only 1 out of a hundred will achieve it under any circumstances. This is fourth grade math, and this is about the fourth time you've made this mistake. Stop it already, you're wrong.
So, what if only 1 out of 100 get there, it still points to upward mobility and a fact that this non-static group of wealthy have ebb and flow in their #'s. Just because you and I won't be in the 1% doesn't mean no one else can make it and you shouldn't be trying to stop others from getting there. It's the reason I keep calling you out for class envy and nothing more, if I'm wrong you should be able to prove it.
Quote:Any number of ways, including some good ones.
This leads one to believe that most of the ways were bad and only a small percentage of them were good...
Quote:But the accumulation of wealth by fewer and fewer and fewer people is now shifting the balance of political power to the top 1%,
If this is the case, why didn't Hillary win? She had the most big money donors as well as the very groups you can't stand. Goldman Sachs?
Quote:and such things as free college, universal healthcare, and a host of other things are being left behind in America, while the rest of the developed world enjoys them. We once had the highest standard of living, now have slipped far behind the leaders.
You suffer from "rest of the world" syndrome...
Quote:When it comes to wealth share, the 1% are the ONLY people worth looking at, because ALL other people besides them have LOST wealth share in the last 37 years. Even the people between the top 1% and top 10% have lost wealth significant wealth share to the 1%. In short, the top 1% are sucking up all the wealth growth in the entire country, and so of course you want to look at everyone BUT the 1%. How typical.
There is no such thing as "wealth share". There is no limited amount of money in the US that is divided up into shares for the different groups, it's one big pile of money and if you don't do what you need to do to get your own pile of legal wealth, then I can't help you.
