@snood,
Bernie set out to do what he planned and that was to energize the party under Hillary and draw her more to the left.

Now Bernie needs to look to his accomplishments and bow out of the race while trying to remain a viable voice in US politics.

The only way he can keep face is to concede and sooner rather than later.

Concede and then join the democratic party in Hillary's victory, a victory that Bernie can be proud that he helped to shape.

@izzythepush,
So after a majority of Republicans passed the Civil Rights Act, people left the democrat party and joined with the group that passed the very thing they didn't like?

@Baldimo,
Prior to the civil rights act, most southern politicians were democrats. The Majority of the Republicans at that time who voted to pass the Act lived in the North East and West, the Dixiecrats became Republicans so they would be able to chip away at all that liberal nonsense they didn't want in their lily white schools, restaurants or neighborhoods. Do you even live in the United States?

@Baldimo,
History is just that, something that happened in the past. The real question is why are you concerned about historic racism in the Democrat party while at the same time so unconcerned about the racism in today's Republican party.

Today's KKK aren't endorsing the Democrat. You need to catch up on current events, I'm from the other side of the Atlantic and even I can see what's happening.

@Baldimo,
Yes Sen. Byrd was at one time a KKK member. His decision to join was despicable, no one has forgotten that. The people of West Virginia sent him to Congress in 1953. You forgot about Strom Thurmond of South Carolina and Jessie Helms of North Carolina, big supporters of segregation and Republican.

The country was calling for it in a big way with all the murders of the civil rights workers down South. However, the Republicans, just a few weeks after passing the Civil Rights Act of 1964, (as did the Democrats), went ahead and nominated Barry Goldwater, who was opposed to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. And also against the proposed Civil Rights Act of 1965. Great civil rights partisans, the Republicans. Vote for something when the country screams for it, then turn around and try to give the enforcement authority to a Chief Executive who is totally opposed to it.

The following is just sick.

Senator David Perdue Wants Supporters To Pray For Obama’s Days To ‘Be Few’

Quote:
Quote:
I think we should pray for Barack Obama,” he said. “And I think we need to be very specific about how we pray. We should pray like Psalm 109:8 says: it says, ‘let his days be few.'”

Perdue only referenced verse 8, which reads “May his days be few; may another seize his position.” But the senator declined to note that Psalm 109 is well known among Biblical scholars as a call for God to not only kill the author’s enemies, but also curse their family for generations. The very next verse reads “May his children be orphans, and his wife a widow,” followed by “May his children wander about and beg; may they be driven out of the ruins they inhabit.”

Old Southern Democrats aka KKK, which have switched to republicans or democrats in name only.

@revelette2,

This man should be removed from office. We as a nation do not wish our opposition to die, we are better than that. Senator Perdue is betraying everything this nation stands for, shame on him.

@glitterbag,
Asking people to pray for the death of our president is disgusting! To use religion is dastardly, cowardly, and undemocratic.

@cicerone imposter,
Hell, I thought using religion in D C was the normal way to get the brain washed religious to vote for you. He will be reelected for sure.
